'''Assault Lily: New Chapter 2''', subtitled '''Twilight of the Flowers / The Ringing Depths''' (アサルトリリィ・新章第2弾花々の黄昏／玲瓏たる深潭) is a stage play created by AZONE International and acus. It is the sequel to [[Assault Lily: New Chapter]], and the thirteenth stage play in the ''Assault Lily'' franchise.

The stage play ran from May 17, 2024 to May 22, 2024 at the Kameari Lirio Hall. It tells two stories simultaneously, one (Twilight of the Flowers) focused on [[Legion Sanngriðr]], the other (The Ringing Depths) about an "Oshima Nest Survey Team" made up of a variety of Lilies from many Gardens.

A sequel, [[Assault Lily Sturm: Sanngriðr Chapter]], ran in April 2025.

==Summary==

Following the events of [[Assault Lily: New Chapter]], Legions [[Legion Álfheimr (2nd generation)|Álfheimr]], [[Legion Sanngriðr|Sanngriðr]], and the Survey Team have continued to fight fiercely against the Huge on Oshima Island. Legion Sanngriðr is still facing relentless attacks by the [[Flowers of the End]], and during one clash with them, Touka discovers a clue as to who the Flowers really are. However, there's no time to solve the mystery. The Lilies haven't been able to destroy any of the Nests surrounding the island; with the Nests still growing, it isn't long before Oshima is enveloped in the [[Death Zone]] that they feared would arise.

Sanngriðr and the Survey Team embark upon a desperate attempt to destroy the Death Zone before it becomes impossible to fight within it. After dealing with a variety of threats both familiar and new, the two teams find themselves battling [[Rusalka]], the humanoid Huge, together. Misaka's newly discovered [[Sacred Dominator|Rare Skill]] has kept the exhausted Lilies on their feet, but they realize mid-Neunwelt that they won't be able to defeat Rusalka without making sacrifices. It's at that moment that they receive help from a wholly unexpected place...

==Plot==

===Prologue===

The play opens with a mysterious, dreamlike scene narrated by [[Hasebe Touka]]. She reminisces about the time when, at the [[Odaiba Counteroffensive]] one year ago, her roommate [[Kondo Misaka]] saved countless lives and inspired countless Lilies by dueling a Gigant-type alone for over twenty minutes. Ever since then, Misaka has always been there for her, and hasn't she been there for Misaka? No sooner has Touka had that thought than [[Yamaguchi Chihiro]] appears, clutching Misaka possessively to her as she quotes an ancient love poem. As Chihiro guides her offstage, Misaka glances helplessly back at Touka, and Touka screams that Misaka is hers and she won't give her to Chihiro. The lights then fade to black, and the reverie ends.

Misaka places a phone call to [[Mashima Moyu]] back at Yurigaoka, telling her all about Chihiro and the [[Flowers of the End]]. She tells Moyu that she wants to save the Flowers, but Moyu reminds her that the reason Sanngriðr is on Oshima is to destroy the Nests surrounding the island and eliminate the risk of a [[Death Zone]] forming. Moyu was previously invited to become a member of Legion Sanngriðr by Touka and [[Luise Ingels]]; she spontaneously decides to accept the invitation and join Sanngriðr's reserve members, [[Tetsukawa Toa]] and [[Nagasaka Maho]], as they fly to Oshima.

After welcoming Moyu to the legion, Misaka explains the recent situation on Oshima. Legions [[Legion Álfheimr (2nd generation)|Álfheimr]] and [[Legion Sanngriðr|Sanngriðr]] teamed up to destroy the Senba Shallows Nest, but were interrupted by the unexpected arrival of Charybdis—one of the [[Huge#The Seven Great Ultras|Seven Great Ultras]]—and [[Rusalka|a mysterious Huge]] who's even more humanoid than the juggernauts were. The two legions joined forces with the Survey Team to drive Charybdis and its companion away, in a story [[Assault Lily: Last Bullet|that was told elsewhere]].

===The Ringing Depths, Act 1===

The Survey Team meets with [[Nakahara Mary Tomoyo]] (hereafter "Mary" to avoid confusion with Seike Tomoyo), expressing alarm that even though they killed the juggernaut on Oshima, the Nests surrounding the island are still growing. Mary deduces that there's only one possible explanation: the juggernaut did not, in fact, die.

Meanwhile, Chihiro and the Flowers have once again appeared before Sanngriðr, radiating hostility. With the legion exhausted from constant fighting, [[Kiko Totori]] tells the first-years to stay behind them, which Maho bristles at. Chihiro rants jealously about Touka's presence at Misaka's side and threatens to kill her, while Touka spits back at her that she won't give Misaka to Chihiro. Misaka tries to calm Chihiro down and convince her they're all friends, without any success. Despite [[Imai Seira]] warning her that she's out of [[Magi]], Touka charges in and attacks the Flowers. Two blades clash—Touka's CHARM, and the [[Brionac]] held by [[Tsukamoto Hekiru|Otsu no Hana]]. Otsu no Hana then collapses, screaming and holding her head. Touka exclaims "Hekiru?" as Otsu no Hana flees from the battlefield in apparent confusion. Chihiro stares after the fleeing Flower, also saying the name "Hekiru," then chases after her; the other Flowers follow them.

Sanngriðr goes to meet with [[Kojima Nadeshiko]] and tell her what happened. Several of the legion's members recall that they knew a girl named [[Tsukamoto Hekiru]] in Yurigaoka's elementary school, and Touka says she recognized Otsu no Hana's Magi as Hekiru's, but they all agree that she looked nothing like the Hekiru they once knew. Nadeshiko promises to investigate, and Sanngriðr departs with no answers beyond a vague hope that this means the other Flowers are starting to come back to their senses.

On the Survey Team's side, Mary explains the juggernaut's ability to be reborn again and again by fusing with smaller Huge, growing stronger with each cycle—as a result, it's now upon the verge of becoming an Ultra. They're interrupted by what at first seems to be an earthquake, but is in fact the Nests surrounding Oshima evolving to A-rank and establishing a Death Zone. The only thing that could make the situation worse is if the juggernaut becomes an Ultra and attracts even more powerful Huge to the island. [[Funada Kiito]], leader of the Survey Team, tells Misaka and [[Amano Soraha]] over the comms that her team will correct their previous mistake and finish the juggernaut off this time. Soraha warns Kiito that she's leading the Survey Team on a suicide mission, but Kiito asks Soraha to believe in her, and Misaka agrees that Kiito is as good as her word. Misaka and Soraha decide to have their legions evacuate the civilians on Oshima while the Survey Team pursues the juggernaut.

[[Futagawa Fumi]] worries about [[Yamanashi Hibari]]'s safety, and [[Kaede Johan Nouvel]] overhears her. She reassures Fumi that Hibari would never leave her beloved Fumi all alone, for it's no secret to anyone how Hibari feels about her. Fumi wonders why Hibari hasn't asked to be her [[Schutzengel]] if that's the case, and Kaede suggests that Fumi should propose taking the Schutzengel's Oath instead; it's usually the older Lily who proposes, but they both know [[Hitotsuyanagi Riri|someone who did it the other way around]]. Fumi isn't comfortable with the thought of becoming someone's Schild in such an improper manner, but feels reassured by Kaede's words nonetheless. Meanwhile, Mary tells the Survey Team how to disable the juggernaut's cycle unit and prevent it from reviving itself again.

Over on Sanngriðr's side, Misaka and her legion fight to defend the evacuating civilians against the Huge, despite their exhaustion and the increasingly oppressive environment on Oshima. The negative Magi created by the Death Zone is particularly unbearable for the [[Boosted Lily|Boosted Lilies]] in the legion such as [[Kurokawa Nady Hanna]]. Misaka tells Hanna to stay back as she defends her Schild from attacks. When Misaka briefly collapses in exhaustion, Hanna shouts that she'll fight with her onee-sama until the bitter end and charges into the fight, but then takes a hit and collapses as well. Misaka screams Hanna's name and rushes over to her, embracing her; they're surrounded by the light of Magi, and Misaka declares that she won't let the Huge hurt her Schild. The Lilies of Sanngriðr suddenly start to find it easier to breathe, and Tokiwa points out that the negative Magie in the area has become positive, making them once again able to fight at full power. Moyu realizes that this is the power of Misaka's [[Sacred Dominator|Rare Skill]]—the same one that she used at the Odaiba Counteroffensive.

Kiito places Fumi in command of the Survey Team, and Fumi lays out a three-team strategy for defeating the juggernaut. They launch their assault, with Fumi activating [[Hawk's Eye]], then declaring that she'll fight to be worthy of the Survey Team's trust and Hibari's love. [[Shiba Tomoshibi]] and [[Kishimoto Lucia Raimu]] use Laplace to counter the effects of the Death Zone. The team in charge of breaking the juggernaut's weapon—[[Kamigoori Marimo]], [[Ueda Imari]] and [[Amamiya Sophia Seren]]—activate their Rare Skills and charge into battle. The juggernaut's formidable counterattacks cause the three Lilies to collapse one by one, and Tomoshibi leaps into the fight to defend them, while Raimu supports them all from the sidelines.

Seren says with determination that it was her father, a researcher at [[Ludvico]] Labs, who created the juggernaut and so she can't allow it to live. After a fierce struggle, Seren finally shatters the juggernaut's weapon with a mighty blow, and their team retreats. The three Lilies comprising the next team—Kiito, [[Aizawa Kazuha]] and [[Matsumura Fuka]]—move in to destroy the cycle unit. Meanwhile, Soraha and Legion Álfheimr finish the evacuation, and they decide to regroup with Sanngriðr to plan their next move.

Kazuha and Fuka succeed in destroying the small-type that the juggernaut is fused with, but moments later, it fuses with another one. They realize they'll need to destroy the small-type and the cycle unit at virtually the same time. Seeing the team hard-pressed, Sachie borrows [[Kishimoto Maria Mirai]]'s [[Asterion]] from her Schwester Raimu and enters the fray. She calls upon [[Vanishing]], her special ability as an elite user of Circlet Bless, while Raimu and Tomoshibi supply her with all of the Magi they can. Kaede also joins the fight, using [[Regista]] and allowing the other members of the Survey Team to begin the [[Neunwelt Tactic]]. When the juggernaut targets Fumi with energy blasts, she cuts down its attacks using [[Mind's Eye]].

Sachie stuns the juggernaut with a powerful strike, and the Funada twins destroy the cycle unit. Sachie and the Funadas then daze the juggernaut with a flurry of attacks before Kaede passes the Neunwelt Magisphere to Kiito for the finish shot. Kiito fires the sphere at the juggernaut from short range and lands a direct hit on it, laying the experimental Huge to rest once and for all.

===Twilight of the Flowers, Act 1===

Misaka thinks back, as she often does, to the day in elementary school when she swore an oath to form a legion together with Chihiro, Totori, and [[Imagawa Homare]]. In a flashback, Chihiro tells the others that she wants to make the strongest legion together with them and she'll never forget this oath.

In the present, Totori and Homare find Misaka, and they talk about Chihiro. The others reassure Misaka that Chihiro will come back to herself, and Misaka vows that she'll never give up on saving Chihiro. Misaka tells the others she's glad that she finally knows what her Rare Skill is, and apologizes that it took them so long to form Sanngriðr because everyone thought she didn't have one. Totori and Homare reply that they never blamed her for that and have always been proud of her. Misaka hugs the two Lilies, telling them that she loves them.

Sanngriðr places a call to Kiito and updates her on the situation. As the Death Zone has interrupted all communications between Oshima and Yurigaoka, Álfheimr's returned to Yurigaoka to tell them what's going on and secure aid from other Gardens in destroying the Nests surrounding Oshima. Sanngriðr doesn't intend to wait for them, but is instead preparing to launch an assault on one of the Nests in the morning. Kiito offers her team's assistance, though she warns Misaka that most of the Survey Team is in no condition to fight.

Fumi walks on her own through the forests of Oshima, clearly exhausted, before she collapses. Hibari shouts Fumi's name as she rushes to her side; both of them are incredibly relieved to see each other alive and more or less well. Fumi tells Hibari that she was thinking of her during the battle, and says that it inspired her to fight harder so she could see Hibari again. Hibari reacts with embarrassment and tells Fumi to rest. Fumi tells Hibari how happy she is that she got to see her again, and Hibari admits that she feels the same way about Fumi. As Fumi walks away, Hibari gazes silently after her.

Sanngriðr meets up with the four members of the Survey Team who can still fight; Kiito, Tomoshibi, Marimo, and Kazuha. They start to discuss their planned assault on the Nest, but then the Flowers attack. In the initial confusion, Chihiro grabs Luise and drags her away from the other Lilies, and the two groups enter a standoff. Grasping Luise's hand tightly, Chihiro tells Touka "You love her too, don't you?" while Touka begs Chihiro to leave Luise out of their conflict. Chihiro announces that Luise is qualified to be her [[consort]], and she doesn't intend to return her to Touka. She assures Luise in a gentle voice that they aren't enemies and encourages her to fight alongside the Flowers. Confused by the sensations overcoming her and unable to control herself, Luise screams and lashes out wildly, and Chihiro tells Luise that this is her true power—the power she can only use when together with Chihiro, her consort.

Kazuha realizes that the phenomenon occurring between Chihiro and Luise resembles the times when Raimu held hands with [[Sasaki Ran]], calling upon their power as [[Boosted Lily#Princesses of the Huge|Princesses of the Huge]]. Abruptly, Tomoshibi runs away from the group without a word, but the others can spare no thoughts for her as Chihiro continues trying to convince Luise to abandon Touka and come to her side. She tells Luise that if she hadn't died, Luise would be ''her'' Schild, and Luise denies it. Losing her temper, Touka demands that Chihiro return Luise to her, but Chihiro vows that she'll take everything that Touka has from her.

Mary is observing the encounter from a distance, with a mixture of fascination and disgust, when Tomoshibi finds her. Tomoshibi asks her how Chihiro and Luise could both be Princesses of the Huge, and Mary explains that the two Boosted Lilies share cells extracted from the same Huge. She suggests that a certain someone is running an experiment on whether any Princess can make another Princess her consort, and explains that Chihiro seeks the power of a consort in order to take everything that Touka has. Tomoshibi realizes that if this is true, it means that Chihiro is acting of her own free will. She stalks off, leaving Mary alone to quote literature and privately encourage the Lilies to spoil that certain someone's plans.

Misaka begs Chihiro to stop, but Chihiro retorts that she wants Touka to experience the same pain she felt; the pain of having everything stolen from her. Abruptly, Luise starts fighting Chihiro with all her strength, attempting to cut her own throat on Chihiro's blade. She tells Chihiro she won't let her hurt Touka, or anyone in Sanngriðr, and says that Chihiro should kill her instead. Chihiro is driven into a fury that Luise is so devoted to Touka that she would die for her, and lashes out at the others with a powerful wave of energy, knocking them all off balance.

Hanna gets back up and charges at Chihiro, screaming for her to give Luise back; she wouldn't be able to bear it if Luise died. Vowing that she won't let anyone have her roommate, even at the cost of her own life, Hanna grabs Luise by the other hand. Their Magi begins to resonate, and Hanna forces Chihiro's Magi out of Luise's body, allowing her to free her hand from Chihiro's grasp. The Lilies realize that the very same phenomenon that happened between Chihiro and Luise is now happening between Hanna and Luise, meaning that Hanna is also her consort, and they can use this power to fight the Flowers off.

Elsewhere, Tomoshibi encounters two of the Flowers. Their voices in chorus with one another, they ask Tomoshibi if she knows who they are, seeming uncertain of their own identities. Tomoshibi realizes that she does know who they are. The Flowers suddenly attack her, and when their blades clash, Tomoshibi recognizes their Magi; she calls them "the runaways." She has a flashback of two people discussing a failed escape attempt that happened "back then," in which one girl got away while two others were recaptured. In her flashback, a mysterious voice comments that the recaptured girls will be used for the worst experiments.

Sanngriðr and the reinforcements from the Survey Team battle against the rest of the Flowers. Her blade locked with Touka's, Otsu no Hana suddenly says "Touka?" before screaming and swinging her CHARM around in wild fury. Homare tells Touka that they should capture Otsu no Hana, but just as they're about to do so, someone fires an energy wave at Homare and wounds her arm badly. The Flowers flee in the resulting chaos. Sanngriðr takes Homare to Nadeshiko, who identifies the wound as being from a [[Sonic Wave]] and suggests that one of the Flowers fired it. She tells Homare she's not fit to fight and needs to rest while her wound heals, then encourages the other Lilies to focus on the Nests. They depart, leaving Homare in Nadeshiko's hands.

Alone, Seira wonders how Chihiro could have been so cruel to Luise just now when she was so kind in the past. She remembers the time when she met Chihiro back during elementary school; Chihiro told Seira about the dream she shared with the founding members of Sanngriðr, and Seira promised to make her a CHARM, an offer she graciously accepted. Seira promises to save Chihiro once she figures out how to, and further vows that she will make both of their dreams come true.

Marimo tells Imari that Tsukamoto Hekiru was another Lily who went through the "13 Sisters" experiment with her, just like Chihiro did. She suggests that maybe all of the Flowers came from the 13 Sisters experiment. Marimo recalls that Hekiru was said to have come to [[Kuramayama]] from Yurigaoka, but wonders why she looks so different now, despite her Magi feeling the same.

Simultaneously, in another location, Otsu no Hana (henceforth "Hekiru") murmurs "That was... Marimo?" as she stares blankly forward. Nadeshiko approaches her, laying a hand on her shoulder. Hekiru screams in a distressed voice that until she recognized Marimo, she thought that they were fighting Huge. Nadeshiko tries to calm her down, reassuring her that she's a Lily and so it's a given that she was fighting Huge; next time, she'll be able to tell what she's fighting for certain. She guides Hekiru away and off the stage.

Now alone, Nadeshiko recalls how she had such high hopes for Chihiro and Hekiru when they were in Yurigaoka's elementary school, and raised them like her own daughters. She ran an experiment to have Chihiro fight small-types, but Hekiru ignored her instructors' orders and joined the battle, with both Chihiro and Hekiru dying as a result. Nadeshiko retrieved their bodies, but Hekiru's body was beyond repair, and she had to [[Installation|install]] her in the body of another Lily from Kuramayama. Because of [[Inaba Mayumi]]'s meddling, though, Hekiru's install procedure didn't take fully and she rarely shows any sign of being the same Hekiru that Nadeshiko had known and loved. Nadeshiko vows that this time, she will make Hekiru into the perfect Princess of the Huge.

Chihiro arrives, and Nadeshiko rushes to her side, welcoming her back. Chihiro tearfully asks Nadeshiko why her one-time friends in Sanngriðr won't understand her. She says she just wants to be with Misaka, like in the past, without Touka getting in the way. Nadeshiko encourages Chihiro, telling her that she'll soon be able to take Misaka back and she just needs to remove that which stands in her way. She then leads Chihiro off to rest.

===The Ringing Depths, Act 2===

Morning comes, and Sanngriðr and their reinforcements make plans for how they'll take out their target Nest and its guardian, the Lambton Worm. Tomoyo is determined to make up for for Homare's absence by fighting all the more fiercely, while Toa has taken an instant fancy to Marimo and is delighted to be fighting by her side. Hibari comes up with a new formation for Sanngriðr, placing Seira in the [[Zones|AZ]]. This bothers Maho, who thinks that Totori would be amazing in that position. Homare herself sides with Maho and suggests that Totori move up to the AZ, but Totori firmly refuses, announcing that she'll stay in the TZ.

The battle begins, and the Lilies immediately start the Neunwelt Tactic, with Seira and [[Murakami Tokiwa]] declaring their determination to win. Toa uses a lull in the battle to introduce herself properly to Marimo, then gushes over her and her aggressive fighting style; Maho chides Toa for hitting on a Lily from another Garden, but Toa is unfazed. As the Neunwelt continues, Maho tells Totori she'll pass the Magisphere to her next, but Totori orders her to pass it to Tomoyo instead. In dejection, Maho makes a halfhearted pass that Tomoyo is barely able to catch.

As the first-years pass the Magisphere between themselves, Maho intercepts a pass that was meant for Hanna and announces she'll pass it to Totori. Totori activates [[Heliosphere]], then lectures Maho about being mindful of her surroundings. Maho can no longer stay silent about her feelings; she shouts that Totori doesn't inspire her when she's fighting in a "safe and boring" manner like this, and she wants to see Totori throw herself into the fight and fire one of her beautiful finish shots, for that's the Totori who she loves. She then activates her Boosted Skill, [[Ether Body]]. After Maho slaughters a number of Huge with the assistance of her clone, she passes the Magisphere to Totori.

Totori admits that ever since elementary school, she's doubted whether she deserves to stand in the AZ, and has chosen to play it safe instead. She realizes that she can't fight for Homare's sake like that, and declares that she will trust her friends. She then fires the finish shot from her position in the TZ, destroying the Lambton Worm and its Nest.

With the battle over, Maho collapses from the lingering side effects of having used Ether Body, and Totori rushes to her side. She yells at Maho for having put herself in danger, but then calms down and thanks Maho for showing her that she needs to have faith in herself. She asks Maho to continue fighting by her side as her Schild, and Maho accepts her proposal with delight, calling her "Totori-onee-sama." The two exchange necklaces as they take the [[Schutzengel|Schutzengel's Oath]]. Sanngriðr then moves to regroup with the rest of the Survey Team.

Unfortunately, it's soon evident that even though they just destroyed one of the Nests in the vicinity of Oshima, the Death Zone is still active. The Lilies realize this must mean there's another Nest out there, and Sachie suggests that it belongs to the recent arrivals, Charybdis and Rusalka. Moyu tells the others that those two Huge are special, and their Nest is maintained by their very presence; if they're driven away from it, the Nest will cease to exist. Sanngriðr decides to rest for a while and then go after Charybdis and Rusalka, but before they can return to safety, Rusalka appears before them. During their previous meeting, Rusalka could only manage to say a few mangled words, but she's now quite fluent in human language; she tells the Lilies that Charybdis isn't around and they will be serving as her playmates instead. The Lilies realize that, despite their exhaustion, they have no choice but to fight her.

Hibari pulls Fumi away from the group. She apologizes for making Fumi wait for her for so long, and says that after having her oath with her own Schutzengel annulled, she was scared and unsure whether she was worthy of Fumi. She asks Fumi to take the Schutzengel's Oath with her. In a panic, Fumi replies "Thank you very much!", then upon Hibari's prompting, corrects herself and says "Yes! It would be the honor of my life to be your Schild!" The two of them exchange necklaces, touch foreheads with one another in an intimate moment, then return to the battlefield.

Misaka tells the others that they'll need to do a Neunwelt to drive Rusalka away; everyone is nearly out of Magi, but she confidently declares they'll make it work somehow. Kiito announces that the Survey Team will keep Rusalka busy while Sanngriðr is charging the Neunwelt, and the battle begins in earnest.

As Touka and Luise fight together, Touka blames herself for having been the cause of the terrible experience that Luise went through with Chihiro, then asks Luise whether she really would have chosen Chihiro as her Schutzengel if Chihiro hadn't died. Moyu inserts herself into the conversation, telling Touka not to stress Luise out, reassuring her that she's the most important person there is to Luise, and reminding her that Luise's support is the reason she's able to fight as she does. Touka bows her head to Luise, apologizing for what she said earlier. Patting Luise on the head, she affirms that Luise is her Schild and she won't let anyone else have her. Moyu then leads the two of them in returning to the fight.

After Moyu makes a Neunwelt pass to Luise, Hanna rushes up to her. Luise and Hanna clasp hands, using the power they discovered earlier to blow away the Huge and declaring that the power of roommates can beat anything. Luise passes the Magisphere to Hibari, who is fighting by Fumi's side, both of them filled with confidence by their new bond. Kaede joins the two of them, congratulating them on having become Schutzengels and warning Hibari that she won't allow her to steal Fumi from Team Hitotsuyanagi. Hibari and Kaede briefly squabble over which legion Fumi ought to be a part of, but the roars of the Huge soon remind them that this is no time to be having a petty argument.

Marimo and Himari are dueling Rusalka, who cuts her arm and creates a CHARM-like blade from her own blood. She causes Marimo to stumble with a flurry of blows and then hits her with a blast of energy, making her collapse to the ground. Rusalka asks Marimo whether that wound's going to kill her, and in response, Imari launches a fierce attack on Rusalka and declares that Rusalka could never get the better of Marimo.

Toa arrives just in time to stop Rusalka from landing a blow on Imari, and asks to fight together with Marimo, who accepts her offer. Marimo chides Imari when she's clearly distracted by Toa's presence, then later compliments Toa on an impressive attack, calling her "little sister." This shocks Imari, who has actually taken [[Irma_Girls'_High_School_for_the_Arts#Crownshine Oath|an oath of sisterhood]] with Marimo. The three continue to fight Rusalka, and are soon joined by the Sanngriðr first-years; Rusalka playfully dashes away, and the Lilies pursue her.

===Twilight of the Flowers, Act 2===

After Sanngriðr has put all the Magi that they safely can into the sphere, Misaka passes it to Kiito, who discovers that it's not even halfway to standard Neunwelt strength. The Lilies of the Survey Team debate whether they can actually succeed at the Neunwelt, with Ui and Seren expressing reservations, while Sachie and Kiito put on a brave front. Kiito passes the sphere along—only for it to be intercepted by Hekiru, with the rest of the Flowers of the End (except for Chihiro) gathered around her. At first, the Lilies are alarmed that the Flowers stole their Magisphere, but they're even more astounded when Hekiru charges the sphere with positive Magi and passes it back to Touka.

Hekiru asks Marimo if she recognizes her, and Marimo acknowledges that she recognizes several of the Flowers of the End from their time in Kuramayama Labs together. Hekiru tells the Lilies that when they attacked Sanngriðr previously, they had been deluded into thinking they were fighting Huge, and she begs to fight together as Lilies with them by finishing their Neunwelt. The Lilies hesitate for a moment, but Kiito declares that right now they need all the help they can get, and Misaka agrees with her. They decide to pin down Rusalka while the Flowers finish charging the Magisphere.

As they observe the fight from afar, Nadeshiko and Mary chat with one another. Though Nadeshiko champions the power of the Princesses of the Huge, and Tomoyo the power of natural-born Singular Lilies, both of them agree that Rusalka must be destroyed. Rusalka likewise chats with Sanngriðr and the Survey Team as she fights them, easily holding her own against the exhausted Lilies despite being heavily outnumbered. When Seren shouts that they've created a true monster in Rusalka, the latter corrects her that she was ''born'', not created.

Chisa ([[Sato Chisa|Ki no Hana]]) charges the Neunwelt Magisphere, with visible difficulty, and passes it to Wako ([[Nakamura Wako|Koh no Hana]]). Just after Wako has charged the sphere, she collapses, and Chisa screams Wako's name as she rushes over to her side. Wako says that she thinks her time is up. In a voice filled with love, she tells Chisa that all the pain she went through was worth it to be able to fight by Chisa's side. She passes the sphere back to Chisa before closing her eyes and going limp in Chisa's arms. As the other Flowers watch, Chisa tearfully tells Wako that she was the one who gave her the strength to fight. She holds out her CHARM, and Hekiru steps forward to take the Magisphere from her. Chisa cradles Wako's body in her arms and presses her forehead to that of the dead Flower before slumping to the ground with her.

Sanngriðr and the Survey Team rush in, staring in shock and horror at the scene before them. Kiito asks, in disbelief, if the two dead Flowers used up all their Magi. Tomi ([[Inokuchi Tomi|Hei no Hana]]) tells the others that the Flowers knew using so much positive Magi might kill them, but they wanted to fight as Lilies nonetheless, for being a Lily means accepting that you may die. Hekiru asks the Lilies to allow them to die while protecting the world. Overcome with emotion, Misaka shouts that she can't allow that, but Marimo points out that some of the Flowers volunteered to be boosted and asks Misaka and Kiito to let the sacrifices they made be meaningful ones. Misaka admits that in the Flowers' situation, most Lilies would want to do the same, and Kiito accepts their decision on everyone's behalf.

The Funada sisters begin dueling Rusalka. Ui says that the two of them can't fight for much longer, and tells Kiito to use her iai on Rusalka. Kiito hesitates, saying that it takes too much Magi, but Ui reassures her that she'll be here by Kiito's side. As Kiito retreats to focus on her next strike, Ui fights Rusalka alone. Rusalka batters her with strikes until she drops her CHARM and is forced to block the next attack with her own arms. Rusalka taunts Ui about her exhaustion, only to then be hit by Kiito's mighty iai strike. Astounded by the force of the blow, she collapses, giving Ui time to retrieve her CHARM. The sisters both trade blows with Rusalka, wounding each other more and more in a savage brawl that culminates with Ui lodging her CHARM in Rusalka's torso and then driving it deeper with a series of punches.

This gruesome attack knocks Rusalka out for some time, but the Funadas are just as injured as she is, and both of them collapse nearby. Misaka rushes to their side, and they tell her to finish the fight. Rusalka pushes herself up to her knees and swings her blade wildly around, fending the Lilies off, as she says in a wavering voice "These Lilies are so ''fascinating''!"

Ryo ([[Watsuji Ryo|Tei no Hana]]) and Uno ([[Tatara Uno|Bo no Hana]]) battle the Huge together as they take part in the Neunwelt. Shortly after charging the Magisphere and passing it to Uno, Ryo drops her CHARM and collapses. After staring at Ryo's fallen form, Uno pours her own magie into the sphere with a wail of fury. Ayame ([[Kato Ayame|Shin no Hana]]) comes upon Uno, and their eyes meet before Uno passes the Magisphere to Ayame, then falls motionless to the ground. Ayame screams and begins slaughtering the nearby Huge with wild strikes, shouting "Makina, run away!" as she does.

Motoko ([[Saito Motoko|Jin no Hana]]) dashes over to Ayame, dropping her CHARM and embracing her fellow Flower tightly. As Fuka and Tomoshibi arrive on the scene, Motoko tells Ayame that [[Kagawa Makina|Makina]] managed to get away, and apologizes for telling the doctors, saying that she was scared and wasn't able to believe any of them could really escape. Fuka is surprised by the mention of the name "Makina," while Tomoshibi says that she knows the two Flowers; they were caught trying to escape from Kuramayama Labs, and were then experimented on until they became remnants. Ayame apologizes in turn to Motoko, telling the other Flower that she should have reassured her instead of lashing out at her.

Ayame and Motoko vow that they'll fight as Lilies together until the end. Tomoshibi approaches the two, and both of them are delighted to be reunited with her. Motoko reaches out and tries to touch Tomoshibi's cheek, but collapses before she can, and Ayame promises Motoko that she'll be with her soon. She asks Tomoshibi if she knows what happened to Makina. Fuka steps forward, telling Ayame that Makina is in her legion, [[Legion Cuélebre|Cuélebre]]. In her last moments, Ayame asks her to tell Makina something: "You don't have to come back for us anymore." Fuka promises to tell Makina those words. Weeping, she also promises that she'll tell Makina about Ayame, Motoko, and how they both fought so beautifully as Lilies.

Hekiru and Tomi fight the Huge side by side, with Hekiru using [[Lunatic Trancer]], followed by Tomi cleansing her negative Magi with [[Brave]]. Tomi leans against Hekiru, struggling to stay on her feet as she charges the Magisphere. She tells Hekiru that she volunteered to be boosted, hoping it would make her a first-rank Lily. But then she met Hekiru, and from that point onward, all that mattered was keeping her safe; it was that meeting which taught her the true source of a Lily's strength. The two are interrupted by a number of encroaching Huge, which they fight off, after which Tomi collapses. Hekiru rushes to Tomi's side and embraces her. Tomi murmurs "Thank you, Hekiru..." before her body goes limp.

Tearfully, Hekiru tells Tomi that she feels the same way about her, and thanks Tomi for always being there for her. She lays Tomi's body down, takes up her Brionac again, and charges the Magisphere. With a scream of "All our hopes lie here!", Hekiru flings the sphere away, and it's caught by Chihiro as she enters. Chihiro says that the Flowers of the End all fought together as sisters, and she couldn't be the only one not to die for this. She then vows that she'll protect Misaka. Hekiru smiles at her and nods before collapsing to the ground, after which Chihiro rushes over and takes Hekiru in her arms.

Hekiru tells Chihiro that she can't feel any negative magie inside her, and she knows that Chihiro will live on. With her final breath, she asks Chihiro to live for her and the other Flowers, her sisters. Chihiro bursts into tears, repeating Hekiru's name again and again.

Homare, Totori and Misaka are fighting Rusalka only a short distance away. The three of them pin Rusalka down, then shout for Chihiro to take the finish shot. Chihiro is in disbelief that they want ''her'' to do it, but Misaka tells her that doing it will fulfill their oath. With a scream, Chihiro uses the others' CHARMs as a brace for her own as she fires the Magisphere at Rusalka, blowing her away.

===Epilogue===

The battle against Rusalka is over at last, and all the members of Sanngriðr lie fallen upon the ground. Chihiro is the first to stand up, reciting an ancient love poem as she does. Misaka rises to her feet as well, only for Chihiro to point her CHARM at Misaka and tell her to kill her.

She shouts that she and the Flowers were monsters who fought other Lilies as if they were Huge, that she can't bear to be alone again, and that it's fate that Misaka should put an end to her. As she fends off Chihiro's strikes, Misaka tells her that she's a Lily and not a monster, but Chihiro denies it with a scream and further denies that she's even the same Chihiro who Misaka once knew. Desperately, Misaka tries to remind Chihiro that the Flowers wanted her to live, but her words fail to reach Chihiro and their blades continue to clash.

Eventually, Misaka falls to her knees, laying her sword down by her side. She tells Chihiro that she could never let her be alone again. With a wail, Chihiro charges at Misaka with her CHARM held high, but Seira rushes in and wraps her arms tightly around Chihiro before she can bring her blade down upon Misaka. She begs Chihiro to stop, saying there's been enough pain and fighting already. Rising to her feet, Misaka promises Chihiro that she'll never leave her alone, and Chihiro drops her CHARM and collapses. Seira and Misaka fall to their knees beside Chihiro and embrace her, with Luise joining them in the embrace a short time later.

Chihiro moans that she's hurt all of them, but Seira tells Chihiro that she's been hurt too, and that Seira is glad she's alive. She asks Chihiro to come back to Yurigaoka with them, and Misaka echoes her words. With the other members of Sanngriðr standing nearby, Chihiro asks in disbelief if all of them would really accept her, and Misaka tells her that she was always a part of Sanngriðr. She asks Chihiro to come with them and make their dream from long ago come true. Tearfully, Chihiro thanks all of them.

Touka, standing a short distance away, watches Misaka and Chihiro with an icy expression.

Elsewhere, while holding a large book in her hands, Nadeshiko declares what has happened to be a miracle thought beyond humanity. She says that she shall watch and wait from afar, then lights the book on fire, burning its contents.

Following the curtain call, as the rest of the cast exits the stage via the sides, Misaka turns and walks towards the darkness at the back of the stage. For a moment, everything goes pitch black... but then light illuminates the grinning silhouette of Rusalka, standing in the spot where Misaka was just moments earlier.

Production of ''New Chapter 2'' was led by pius in collabroation with Azone International, with Obanazawa Ken'ei (尾花沢軒栄), the author of the ''Assault Lily'' series, in charge of the primary draft. The screenplay was developed by Sakuragi Sakaya (桜木さやか) of the [[Ludvico Girls High School (troupe)|Ludvico Girls High School]] theatre troupe, with Tanabe Toshiki (田邊俊喜) of Spacenoid Company in charge of stage direction. Tani Naoki (谷ナオキ) composed the play's opening theme, "[[Ties of Fate]]", and ending theme, "[[To Choose One Flower]]", both performed by the stage actresses, and was also responsible for the play's soundtrack and music direction.

The '''Odaiba Counteroffensive''' was a battle that took place in [[Timeline|2051]].

During it, the well-defended neighborhood of Odaiba in [[Tokyo, Japan]] was unexpectedly invaded by a massive horde of [[Huge]], including multiple gigant-types and an Ultra-type. With many experienced Lilies not present in Tokyo on account of the [[Makuhari Recapture]], the defense of Odaiba fell to a group of first-year and middle-school Lilies from multiple Gardens who were on Odaiba for a training camp.

The Odaiba Counteroffensive was a historic battle because despite the suddenness and difficulty, it was finished without a single casualty<ref>''[[Assault Lily Wunder]]'' chapter 5</ref>.

'''[[Assault Lily Wunder]]''' was the first novelization of this battle, focusing on the 2nd Division with [[Kondo Misaka]] as protagonist. Odaiba Counteroffensive happens during a Neunwelt Tactic Technical Conference for 1st year Lily.

=== Appearance of the ''Soldier Ants'' swarm ===
Appearance of dozens of special small-type which are not detected by Huge Searcher.

From their appearance, they are dubbed the ''Soldier Ants'', and each individual pose comparable threat to a mid-type. This means heavy armaments such as tank and rocket launchers are required to handle them.

They appear to have hydrophobia and don't have strong leaping strength, so the waterfront battle gives advantage to the lilies.

=== 5th Division's failure ===
The 5th Division are sent to intercept the Soldier Ants.

Because the 1st and 5th Division are supposed to commence a pincer attack on the pseudo-Nest, both legions consisted of strong fighters. They assumed this will be an easy victory where they destroy both the Soldier Ants and the Cave.

But this is a trap, and a gigant-type Soldier Ant who had been hiding inside the Cave appeared.

Even though the objective is complete evacuation of the area, the lilies are being forced to withdraw the perimeter.

=== 5th Division's defense of New Tatsumi Bridge ===
The 5th Division who are resolved to stop the Soldier Ants and their leader gigant-typees, lure the swarm to Shin-Tatsumi Bridge and start a last stand battle. Meanwhile, countless number of Soldier Ants keep coming out of the pseudo-Nest.

The tide turns to the lilies with arrival of the 3rd Division. Even so, the swarm is too overwhelming, a few gigant-type managed to break through and proceed to areas where evacuation is still not completed.

=== 2nd Division's fight ===
The 2nd Division are initally the back-up plan for 5th Division. Upon hearing the 5th Division's retreat, [[Amano Soraha]] pledge to mobilize the squad to Shinkiba in order to help with evacuation.

In Shin-Kiba, [[Hayami Katsura]] fought alone to buy enough time to finish the evacuation.

At the same time, the 3rd Division arrived to join the 5th Division.

The 2nd Division detached itself from the battle and move to west to proceed evacuation.

=== Demolition of Fujimi Bridge ===
Horde of Huge are approaching Fujimi Bridge. The squad present are the 3rd Task Squad under [[Hishida Haru]], who can't use the Neunwelt Tactics because they have less than 9 members.

Asking for back up from the Defense Squad are impossible because they too are fighting for their life. Yet, evacuation for the area is not yet over.

Haru made the order to destroy Fujimi Bridge. As consequence, a group of Odaiba junior high school lilies fighting to protect the civilians are abandoned at the other side.

=== Defense of Nozomi Bridge ===
After losing their route because of the destruction of Fujimi Bridge, the Huge changed their course to Nozomi Bridge.

[[Takehisa Nakaba]], [[Kawanabe Nazuna]], and their comrades are prepared for death when [[Kondo Misaka]] fought alone to hold back the gigant-type for 20 minutes.

With the arrival of the 2nd Division, the swarm is exterminated.

=== Pair of anomalous gigant-type ===
Among the Soldier Ants, there are freak variant gigant-type previously spotted in Makuhari.

The 3rd Division who now support the Defense Squad, are sent to handle them.

Thanks to the 3rd Division, the Light Wall System survived. The Defense Squad also managed to secure an evacuation route for the civilians.

=== Destruction of the freak gigant-type, and defence of the Light Wall ===
The only gigant-type extermination done by the Defense Squad in this operation.

It's a difficult fight because the special-type gigant-type has ability to dull the lilies' movements.

== History ==
Ena has attended Yurigaoka since kindergarten. From an early age, she's been in competition with [[Takegoshi Chihana]], and this rivalry has shaped a great deal of her life growing up. Chihana has a defensive command style, whereas Ena has an offensive one, and so their views often directly clash. However, when Chihana formed the Takegoshi Reserve Team in middle school, Ena went out of her way to join it, saying, "What better way to show I'm superior than to fight up close?"<ref Name="dengeki1">[https://hobby.dengeki.com/news/1454886/ Hobby Dengeki, Assault Lily: Niigata Recapture, Chapter 8 "Operation Drachentöter ~The Dragon Slayer~" Commentary Article]</ref>

Likely [[Amano Soraha]] joining the team ahead of Ena and showing a great deal of compatibility with Chihana also played a part. As was customary for girls entering Yurigaoka in middle school, Ena was assigned to be Soraha's caretaker, and it wasn't long before the two of them became inseparable.

=== Álfheimr's Beginnings ===
Soon after this, the Takegoshi Reserve Team traveled to Koshu to hold a Neunwelt Tactic training camp. None of them expected to be pulled into what would come to be known as the [[Koshu Withdrawal]]. Relying on then-first year Lily [[Hayashi Kaoru]]'s level of trust earned from Garden faculty, the Reserve Team was permitted to operate as a temporary legion, despite most of its members being middle school Lilies still. The reserve team aided in the evacuation of civilians, with Ena serving as commander in the TZ foward position. Despite this, and the team performing brilliantly, they still lost one of their members, [[Kawazoe Misuzu]].

The next year, Chihana became Sigrun, and the Garden permitted her to make the Takegoshi Reserve Team into an official legion, which would be known as Legion Álfheimr. It's said she personally invited Ena to join, saying, "To form the strongest legion and liberate Kanto, I can only trust a Lily more capable than myself as commander of Álfheimr. Which is to say, there's no one more qualified than you, Ena. I'd like to keep fighting alongside you, if you'll let me." Ena accepted, and led the legion to victory in over thirty major battles, cementing Álfheimr as a "legendary" legion.

=== Álfheimr's End ===
It was after the [[First Defense of Oiso]] that, despite its accumulated victories, Legion Álfheimr would disband. During battle, Chihana made a call that ultimately got civilians killed, a high sin for a Lily. There was also the case of [[Hasebe Touka]] using the then-experimental 4th generation CHARM [[Einherjar]] without permission, for which Chihana was also blamed. When the Yurigaoka Student Council ruled that Chihana could no longer captain a legion and asked the other members to pick a new one, they decided to disband instead.

Ena was at a loss after this. With Soraha also considering retiring from being a Lily, Ena fell into a kind of slump. She joined no other legions, and spent her days "freelance" but taking on no active duty. What pulled her out of it was Soraha's sudden reversal from wanting to retire. She instead had met [[Egawa Kusumi]], and through that, joined the Ichi Reserve Team, led and commanded by [[Tanaka Ichi]].

=== Rise of the Second Álfheimr ===
Naturally, Ena took on the commander role for the Ichi Reserve Team, but Ichi herself was already serving in that position. Ena was undoubtedly more accomplished and talented at it, however, which led to Ichi giving way. Though their relationship was prickly at first, over time, as they trained together, a bond of respect was formed. It was also during this time that [[Okada Kisara]] would ask Ena to become her Schild<ref Name="fumitweet1">[https://x.com/assault_lily/status/1798382698056286223 Official Assault Lily Twitter Account]</ref>. Ena eventually pulled out of her slump due to these positives, and the Ichi Reserve Team would go on to become [[Legion Álfheimr (2nd generation)]], with Soraha as captain.

== History ==
Wakana has always been highly esteemed for her character and her talent, so it wasn't any surprise when, in her first year of high school, she became Yurigaoka's Vice Disciplinarian. At the time, the whole of the Kanto region in Japan was in a poor state, with two-thirds of Tochigi Prefecture having already fallen and a full half of Saitama under Huge threat. When Nests began to be established around Ibaraki Prefecture, many predicted that the situation would only grow worse, with a possible death zone on the horizon.<ref name="dengeki_wakanananoha">[https://hobby.dengeki.com/news/1375931/] Hobby Dengeki, Assault Lily: Niigata Recapture, Chapter 5 "A Ray of Hope" Commentary Article</ref>

The proposed solution was for all Gardens across Kanto to begin cooperating, taking a systematic approach to countering the Huge influence over the area. With the Conduct Committees of each Garden already working together, they became the channel through which this plan would be formed, and there was no one more in favor of the plan than Wakana. It was she who ultimately was responsible for making the cooperation plan official.

Yurigaoka then undertook a large-scale expedition, with the first being an expedition to destroy the S-ranked Nozori Lake Nest in northern Gunma Prefecture. It was on this expedition that Wakana met [[Miyairi Fubuki]], who was among the reinforcements sent from [[Ryuto Girls' Academy]]. The two not only recognized each other's abilities, they were nearly kindred spirits. Their coordination in combat was so effective that it's said even today that Wakana and Fubuki alone dealt with half of all Huge at the Nozori Lake Nest. They fought together in several other expeditions even after Nozori Lake, and, despite being in different Gardens that are fairly distant from one another, maintain a close friendship even today.

=== Meeting Soraha ===
Wakana was well-known as having one of the largest magie capacities of any Lily in the world. So when [[Amano Soraha]], with the largest magie capacity in history, entered Yurigaoka in middle school, Garden faculty assigned Wakana to be her mentor. Having a large capacity doesn't mean one is able to utilize it, so the hope was Wakana would be able to guide her in this way.

Transferring in during middle school is something Yurigaoka reserves only for a small handful of exceptional geniuses. Moreover, Soraha had essentially been drafted into being a Lily. This led to her feeling isolated and frustrated with her life. Fortunately, Wakana did more than just teach Soraha how to use her magie, she spent as much time as possible with her to help heal her heart. This helped to change Soraha into the legendary Lily she is today. The two took the Schutzengel's Oath together the day Soraha entered high school.

== Combat Style ==
As a third year Lily, Wakana is part of the Duel Generation, and her personal combat prowess is top class. She's particularly known for her elegant CHARM handling, said to be smooth enough to leave afterimages, yet utilized with swift precision. These qualities have been inherited by her Schild Soraha, as well as Soraha's own Schild, [[Egawa Kusumi]].

Most third year Lilies only participate in the Neunwelt Tactic as finishers, but Wakana, with her high tactical understanding, sets herself apart by having had an exceptionally easy time adapting to it. With her rare skill Regista, she's also capable of taking command of a Neunwelt. Her style of command is aggressive, so when she takes over for Álfheimr, they press forward, heavily on the offensive. This produces overwhelming power, but at the same time, ruins the balance of their formations. Even so, at times that's exactly what's needed.

Upon first meeting, Noa may seem spacey or even air-headed. She speaks in slow, drawn-out syllables, describes things more by their "feel" or "vibe" than any factual thing about them, and takes life at only her own speed. This sort of outward demeanor is by no means fake, but at the same time, it would be foolish to dismiss her, as her intuitive understanding of people and things is incredibly sharp. Even as she mentions "feeling the wind," she will have insightful commentary that, while not logical, nevertheless is right on the mark.

This intuitiveness shows itself in battle most often. She has the uncanny ability to make impossible situations possible by making choices that are illogical or seemingly difficult. As she puts it, "I feel if we pick the hardest path, we can transcend what the Huge predict. ==Personality==
Renka's happy-go-lucky demeanor presents a contrast with that of her hardworking and serious legion leader, Kazuha. When she first met Kazuha, Renka immediately resented her, both because she chafed against how Kazuha ran the legion and because she saw Kazuha's ideals through a cynical lens. She later acknowledged that Kazuha reminded her of her idealistic younger self, and thus her regrets from the past; as she came to believe that their legion could actually change Herensuge from within, she also began to trust Kazuha and to like her.

However, even with their hopes and dreams on the same page, Renka still protests against Kazuha's decisions whenever she finds them to be onerous, which occurs on a near-daily basis. She also greatly enjoys teasing Kazuha, who reluctantly puts up with it (other targets of Renka's mischief, such as [[Sasaki Ran|Ran]], often take it far more poorly.)

Having proclaimed herself to be Hervör's fashionista, Renka is very passionate about looking great and always stays up to date with current fashion trends. This makes for a poor combination with her love of food and tendency to gain weight easily, and she frequently has to diet—not an easy thing to do when she shares a legion with the incredible cook [[Serizawa Chikaru|Chikaru]] and the taiyaki-loving Ran.

In [[Timeline|2050]], while a third-year in junior high school, Renka was attached to the contemporary Legion Hervör as a provisional member. She was present at the [[Hinode Tragedy]], and when the captain of Hervör ordered Herensuge's Madecs to sacrifice themselves to cover the Lilies' retreat, Renka fiercely protested against the order. During the delay that this caused, Hervör was attacked by Huge, and most of its members other than Renka and her friend [[Hatsukano Yo|Yo]] were slaughtered. Renka came to view what she'd done as a foolish mistake that accomplished nothing except for getting people killed.

In [[Timeline|2051]], Renka and Yo were members of [[Legion Basa-Andre]] and became friends with [[Tsuboi Nanaho]]. They took part in the [[Makuhari Recapture]] together<ref>[https://x.com/assault_lily/status/1240668381902069761 @assault_lily Twitter, March 19, 2020]</ref>.

At the beginning of the school term, Renka listens to [[Aizawa Kazuha|Kazuha]] speak about her dream of protecting everyone with cynical detachment. Kazuha then surprises her by personally selecting her to be a member of Legion Hervör.

During Hervör's first sortie, Kazuha leads their legion in drawing a Large-type's attention to prevent it from damaging civilians' homes. Renka protests the decision, saying it's too dangerous and they should wait for reinforcements, but this only makes Kazuha declare that she'll do it alone. After [[Serizawa Chikaru|Chikaru]] and [[Hatsukano Yo|Yo]] say they'll fight with Kazuha, Renka reluctantly comes with them. Between the Large-type and its escorts, the four Lilies are quickly overwhelmed and would have faced a desperate fight if not for [[Sasaki Ran|Ran]], who slaughtered most of the Huge personally after her unexpected arrival.

After Kazuha adds Ran to the legion's roster, Hervör begins to train together. Renka is both tired out by the relentless pace of the training and embarrassed by the strange activities Kazuha has them do in public, such as centipede races and dancing. However, she later realizes that the activities are in fact cleverly chosen to build their coordination and teamwork, especially in consideration of the easily bored Ran. Her respect for Kazuha grows slightly during this period.

While Hervör relaxes at the mall together on a day off, Renka warns Kazuha that her way of doing things won't work forever, and some day she'll be forced to make sacrifices. Kazuha isn't convinced, but just then, the mall comes under attack by Huge. Hervör at first holds their own against the Huge assault, but then three large-types appear. Kazuha orders her legion members to defend the evacuation shelter while she attempts to hold off the large-types on her own. Renka shouts at Kazuha that the people here were already doomed to die and she'll accomplish nothing except for getting herself killed too, but traumatized by her memories of her helplessness at Hinode, Kazuha ignores Renka's protests.

Kazuha is soon overwhelmed by the large-types, but Yo disobeys orders and comes to fight with her, resulting in Yo being grievously wounded and falling into a coma. Heartbroken, Renka blames Kazuha for what happened to Yo, and Kazuha begins to question her beliefs.

Renka visits the unconscious Yo in the hospital, confessing to her that she can't stand Kazuha's idealism and has always hated her. At that moment, Yo awakens, telling Renka that it's her own self she hates, not Kazuha. The others are overjoyed at Yo's recovery, but Kazuha is still unable to regain her confidence. Yo asks Kazuha to visit her at the hospital, and tells her about Renka's actions at Hinode and how she's regretted them ever since.

Some time later, the Huge attack Herensuge itself and Hervör is ordered into combat. However, Kazuha is still wracked with self-doubt, and finds that she's unable to even activate her Rare Skill. Deciding that they'll be able to fight more effectively on their own than as a legion, the members of Hervör all go their separate ways.

While fighting on her own, Renka runs out of Magi. As a Huge prepares to kill her, she wonders if her death will make up for the cruel words she said to Kazuha. She's saved by the sudden arrival of Yo, who tells Renka that she should have stood with her at Hinode and helped her carry the guilt—since she failed to do that, she'll stay right by Renka's side, now and forever. The two decide that if Kazuha rejoins the fight, they'll trust her with their lives; if not, they'll quit being Lilies.

Moments later, the two feel Kazuha activating Regista, and the five members of Hervör all regroup to fight together. A large-type appears, and Hervör performs a Neunwelt to defeat it. Renka uses [[Phase Transcendence]] to clear a path to the large-type, trusting Kazuha to protect her afterwards, and Kazuha carries Renka in her arms as they take the finish shot together.

After the battle, Renka joins in the Shieldmaiden's Vow that the five Lilies of Hervör take together. Her contribution is having all of them vow, ''"May we have the courage to believe in friends."'' Embarrassed, Renka points out that their oath sounded an awful lot like a marriage vow, then jokes "Through sickness and in health, we're relying on you, Kazuha."

Despite her easygoing personality, Renka has a keen mind and is a skilled tactician; she designs most of Hervör's formations (though Yo is the one to name them.)

== History ==
Akehi started out as a [[Madec]] under [[Herensuge Institute for Girls]]. She volunteered to undergo [[Boosted Lily|boosting procedures]] in order to raise her [[Skiller Value|Skiller value]], and afterwards entered Herensuge as a Lily in middle school.

Soon after that, a large [[Cave]] formed near Toshima in Tokyo. While this area is normally under [[Ludvico Private Girls' Seminary|Ludvico]]'s protection, their singular legion, [[Temple Legion]], was on deployment to Hachiouji and couldn't respond in time. This meant that Herensuge was forced to send the then-[[Legion Hervör]], along with a "special attachment" of middle school Lilies (including [[Iijima Renka]] and [[Hatsukano Yo]]) in order to put down the Cave.

Mistakes made by those in command, an underestimation of enemy strength, and mismanagement of personnel led to what is still considered one of the greatest losses of life in Japan, with not just civilians, but Madecs and Lilies perishing in great numbers as well. What particularly left a black mark on Herensuge, and Hervor in specific, was the then-captain of Hervor ordering the Madecs on the scene to die. Akehi disobeyed this order directly by staying to fight alongside them. Very few other than her survived, however.

After this incident, known as the [[Hinode Tragedy]], Akehi became disgusted with Herensuge's policy towards using the lives of its students as tools, and transferred into Kamba.

== Personality ==
Akehi holds dual office in Kamba as both the student council president and the head disciplinarian, and has the personality one would expect from holding these offices. She's commanding, proactive, but also sincere and kindhearted. She has nothing but sympathy for students who are facing difficulty, at times even over-empathizing with them, developing worries herself.

Few at Kamba desire to hold either position that Akehi holds both of, and this demonstrates well her personality: someone who will do things for others, perhaps to her own detriment, yet also someone who can handle such responsibilities deftly.

Lastly, thanks to her history at Herensuge, she probably has the most actual combat experience of anyone at Kamba, making her reliable in many different aspects.

Kusumi was born in Hokkaido, but she traveled all the way to Yurigaoka to become a Lily when she was in kindergarten. Along with [[Tanaka Ichi]], [[Takasuga Tsukushi]], [[Kanabako Misora]], and [[Watanabe Akane]], the five of them formed a group called "the Quintet," merely signifying that they were close friends from a young age. All five of them were thought to be likely to become star Lilies when they were older, and Kusumi did not disappoint, as she awoke to her rare skill, Phantasm, at the end of her first year of middle school. The youngest a Lily has ever awoken to it.

However, middle school was not a good time for Kusumi. Due to a so far unspecified incident, her relationship with her best friend Ichi soured sharply, and they stopped being friends. With Ichi a much more sociable and popular girl, not to mention a member of the student council, even if it wasn't anyone's intention, Kusumi became isolated during this time. Her mental condition deteriorated to the point she had to move into the special dorm, and this would continue until nearly high school.

It was [[Amano Soraha]] who saved her from her loneliness and depression. Soraha's legion had just broken up, and she was considering quitting being a Lily. When Soraha met Kusumi, however, she took a natural liking to her even despite her depression. The two of them grew close, and it was through this relationship that Kusumi became better. Later, Kusumi made up with Ichi, and she along with Soraha joined the Ichi Reserve Team, which would later go on to become the second generation of Legion Alfheimr.

== History ==

Soraha is world-famous for her physical abilities and the incredible combat prowess they grant her. Under the command of [[Takegoshi Chihana]], Soraha once fought as a member of the first Legion Álfheimr, the strongest legion there ever was. She was a skilled vice-captain and also served to keep the legion's spirits high with her cheerful demeanor.

Legion Álfheimr disbanded after the [[Odaiba Counteroffensive]], and Soraha lost her drive to be a Lily. She considered retiring or transferring to another school. But when she met [[Egawa Kusumi]], who had been rejected by her friends and become a timid girl as a result, Soraha decided to continue on as a Lily and became the captain of the second Legion Álfheimr. She also took the Schutzengel's Oath with Kusumi.

During the Odaiba Counteroffensive, Soraha was a member of the Second Division. She was the one who dealt the final blow to the nestless Ultra.

== Personality ==
Kiito has a very charismatic and prideful personality, contrasting herself from the leaders of other legions. She is brutally honest and straightforward, openly willing to reprimand others if she finds them weak. However, this is most likely her way of wanting other Lilies to get stronger. This fits well with her role as the captain of [[Hronesnæsse]], which manages discipline in [[Odaiba]].

Despite appearing as cold and rude, Kiito, in reality, is a very kind and loyal girl. Kiito does not believe in abandoning others, especially her friends, and is determined to push forward and never give up. She detests people who do otherwise, but even so, she is willing to forgive others for it, like with [[Nagasawa Yuki|Yuki]]. Kiito also uses this cold front to hide her vulnerable side as well, stemming from her hardships in life, only showing it to those close to her.

One of the only people she's openly kind to is her sister [[Funada Ui|Ui]]. She usually agrees with what her sister says because she believes she is always right. Kiito is very protective of her sister and prioritizes her the most, threatening to fight anyone who dares to hurt her and showing a vulnerable side only to her.

Kiito originally believed in individualism and favoring one's abilities, but after studying abroad, she gains a sense of companionship and realizes the importance of teamwork and friends. Kiito is actually a very capable and talented leader as well and gets along well with her legionmates. She is also shown to treat [[Saigo Kurena|Kurena]], [[Shiba Tomoshibi|Tomoshibi]] (at times), and [[Momiji]] kindly as well. Kiito is at first very rude to [[Team Hitotsuyanagi]] but eventually gives them more respect after seeing their accomplishments.

== History==
Kiito and Ui were born as twins, and as a result they have the same skiller value and waveforms. Their parents try to separate the two sisters, but they refuse, which led them to be ostracized in their own hometown.

Eventually the two enroll in [[Odaiba Girls' School]] and meet [[Nagasawa Yuki]], who was a year ahead of them, for the first time. They both looked up to Yuki like a sister and lived a normal life.

During the twins' last year in elementary, a [[Huge]] outbreak suddenly happened. Yuki tried to help them, but she ran out of magi and decided to run off and call for help, leaving the sisters alone. A small class Huge appears, and Kiito was injured protecting Ui. As a result, the two's relationship with Yuki became strained, and Kiito felt they would be dead if she didn't have the strength to be a Lily.

In her 3rd year of junior high, Kiito became the student council president of [[Odaiba Girls' School]], along with [[Kawabata Hotaru]] as vice president. However, her policy of "ability-based training" was heavily criticized, especially as the training policy of the school was meant for high school. Hotaru gave up on Kiito, who did not give up on this change, and even Ui disagreed with her. As a result, Kiito was very unpopular among the student body and was forced to resign in the middle of her term.

Seeing her sister so depressed at the student council incident, Ui decides to invite Kiito on a short-term study trip. During a trip in the west, the Funada sisters hear a rumor about a human monster, revealed to be [[Shiba Tomoshibi]], who had escaped from [[GEHENA]]'s research facility. The two meet her in the mountains of Kyoto, and Kiito ends up fighting Tomoshibi, losing when she is hit in the shoulder by her charm. Humiliated, Kiito challenges Tomoshibi to a rematch, eventually winning after a long sword fight by slashing her forehead. Tomoshibi became infatuated with Kiito, following her at every opportunity, until she joined [[Hronesnæsse]].

After Kiito, Ui, and Tomoshibi return from the trip, they are welcomed back by [[Igusa Subaru|Subaru]], [[Kawabata Hotaru|Hotaru]], and [[Suzuki Chinami|Chinami]], who has supported Kiito. Kiito, having gone through a lot of hardships and tough battles, realizes the importance of friends and companionship and creates a new legion, naming it [[Hronesnæsse]]. Eventually [[Nagasawa Yuki|Yuki]] visited them, apologizing for abandoning the Funada sisters. Although Kiito is at first angry, she eventually cries and reveals her true feelings, restoring their past friendship.

Kiito makes her first appearance in League of Gardens along with [[Funada Ui|Ui]], [[Yuzuriha]], and [[Momiji]], assisting [[Team Hitotsuyanagi]] and [[Ludvico]] in the fight against the Huge.

When Kotohi attacks Yuyu, Kiito is the one to stop the fight, telling Kotohi that although she also understands the anger of abandoning someone on the battlefield, she is too weak to take revenge currently.

When [[Team Hitotsuyanagi]] fails to kill the Gigant class Huge, Kiito blasts them for messing up the [[Neunwelt Tactic]], although the Huge had a magi reflector. Later she and the others participate in the two Neunwelts used to defeat the Gigant class.

====The Fateful Gift====
Kiito, Ui, Tomoshibi, and Yuzuriha appear in the stage play. Kiito mentions that [[Herensuge]] has a bad reputation because of their eagerness to sacrifice Lilies for their battle strategy, which goes against what the Funada sisters went through.

Later, she and the other Lilies assist in the [[Neunwelt Tactic]] to destroy the Gigant classes.

====The Singular Ability====
After the events of ''The Fateful Gift'', Kiito returns to her school.

While the rest of [[Hronesnæsse]] and [[Saints]] fight off the Huge, the Funada sisters go after [[Haru]], who has suddenly gone out of control. The fight is at a standstill, but Kiito refuses to hurt Haru. She then realizes that Haru is being corrupted by a Boosted Charm, so Ui proposes that she be the one to distract Haru and open an opportunity for Kiito to destroy it. Unwillingly, she follows the plan, watching her sister get hurt in the process, and destroys the charm core with her sword. Kiito then cries because of her sister being injured.

== History ==
Having lived through the [[Hinode Tragedy]], Mitake resolved to become stronger. She did everything she could to place highly in Herensuge's ranking competition, seeking to become one of the top 7 so that she could lead a legion of her own. However, despite her ambitions, she was placed 8th, denying her this right. At the beginning of her second year in high school, Mitake decided to leave Herensuge and instead attend [[Ludvico Private Girls' Seminary]], which she felt might give her a chance to achieve her dream, still.

However, shortly after her transfer, Ludvico collapsed and [[Assault Lily: White Resistance ~The Blade of Truth~|could no longer function as a Garden]]. Gravely injured during the battle, Mitake underwent boosting procedures and became a Boosted Lily. Afterwards, she had no choice but to return to Herensuge. Others around her viewed her as disloyal or opportunistic, and her overall rank within Herensuge fell sharply. Despite this, [[Matsumura Fuka]], a Lily she had something of a rivalry with in the past, treated her no differently, and in fact went so far as to invite Mitake to her legion, Cuélebre.

Though Mitake's goal was to lead a legion, in truth, she desires only to do what is right and to never allow another Hinode Tragedy to occur. Fighting with Cuélebre is what helped her to realize this.

== Personality ==
Mitake is a very driven individual, and this comes across in her frank speech. However, she can't be said to be blunt or thoughtless, and in fact can be seen to be very considerate. This is especially true when speaking with Fuuka, who is normally very aggressive with her opinions. Mitake is said to be the "number one Fuuka understander" and can talk to her reasonably in any circumstance.

Though her appearances in person are brief, the mysterious circumstances of her death serve as one of the primary narratives in the Ludvico series of stage plays.

==Personality==
Mirai is shown to be gentle and compassionate, being particularly open to sharing the worries and sorrows of others. Even as a first year, she appeared as composed and mature, maintaining a tender and friendly attitude whenever speaking with others. As such, she was admired by others as a reliable, sisterly figure. On the other hand, while her kindness was a source of comfort to other Lilies' troubles, Mirai would occasionally be overwhelmed by her own emotions, becoming particularly distraught at witnessing the suffering of others, with this side of her being confided to her teammates in the Temple Legion, particularly the level headed [[Nosaka Jacqueline Kazane]] and [[Takatori Natalie Towa]].

Mirai grew up hearing stories of her father, a biology researcher, about the world before the [[Huge]]'s invasion. Because of this, she developed a personal interest in other living creatures, which eventually turned into a personal dream of one day returning the world to being filled with life, as it was prior to the Huge's arrival on the planet.

After she was forcefully made into a [[Boosted Lily]], Mirai was overcome with despair at her new self, with [[Kuroki Francisca Yuria]] theorizing that she was unable to cope with the reality that she was now similar to the Huge she spent her life fighting against. In her grief, Mirai chose to completely sever her ties with her loved ones in fear that she would eventually turn to hurting them.

==History==
In the past, Mirai and Raimu's mother was subjected to experimentations by the radical [[GEHENA]] researcher [[Kosaka Anastasia Ryoko|Professor Amamiya]], who wished to observe the effects that Huge cells would have in an unborn fetus. Though the full implications of these experiments on Mirai are not known, she was still noted to attract the Huge's presence in much the same way as Raimu does. After [[Amamiya Sophia Seren]], the daughter of Professor Amamiya, lost her mother at an early age, she would often be left in the care of the Kishimoto family, eventually forming a strong bond with Raimu and particularly Mirai, whom Seren came to see as her own sister.

Growing up, Raimu and Mirai would frequently hear stories from their father, a biology researcher, of how the world was once filled with life before the appearance of the Huge. Mirai became particularly enamored with these stories, developing a special appreciation for life and nature as a result, and ultimately sharing her father's dreams of one day restoring the world to the abundance of life it once enjoyed.

When Mirai was approximately eight years old, her mother unexpectedly died,<ref>Assault Lily: White Resistance ~The Blade of Truth~</ref> prompting Seren to make a promise to Mirai that she would keep Raimu safe at any cost from thereafter. Later on, Mirai became a Lily of Ludvico Private Girls' Seminary, further earning her the admiration of Raimu and Seren. Raimu in particular aspired to become a Lily just like her sister, and Mirai herself was excited at the prospect, confident that Raimu would become a remarkable Lily as well. At one point, Mirai entrusted Seren with a Medalha much like the one she wore, which she hoped to deliver to Raimu after she became a Lily.

Mirai soon gained notoriety for the unparalleled skill she displayed at the Duelist combat style, leading her to be selected as the captain of Ludvico's Top Legion, the Temple Legion, while only in her first year of high school. She developed a particularly strong bond with three of her teammates: Nosaka Jacqueline Kazane, her vice captain, Takatori Natalie Towa and [[Li Christina Susu]].

At one point, Mirai met and became intimately close with the junior Lily Fukuyama Jeanne Sachie. The pair would often meet at Ludvico's cemetery, Maria's Hill, where Mirai would share her dreams and aspirations with Sachie. Eventually, Mirai and Sachie took the Schwester's Oath at Maria's hill, and possibly during this time, Mirai developed a dream of leaving the Temple Legion entirely and instead form a Legion of her own together with Sachie, Raimu, Seren, Kazane, Towa and Susu.

During Mirai's time as a student of Ludvico, she was taught by Instructor [[Izumi Rosa Rina]], who took notice of Mirai's ever increasing skill and powers, while also becoming aware of her unusual tendency to attract the Huge's presence. Mirai's power would grow to such an extent that she would soon be regarded as the single strongest Lily in all of Ludvico's history, however, the rapid and constant increase of her abilities meant that Mirai had increasingly less control over them.

====The Bond with the White Rose - First Half====

When a Great [[Cave]] formed over the Kiyosumi-Shirakawa Campus of [[Irma Girls' High School for the Arts]], the Temple Legion was dispatched to aid them in [[Kiyosumi-Shirakawa Campus Defense|repelling the Huge's onslaught]], as since Irma's Top Legion, the [[Legion Irminshines|Irminshines]], were absent at the time, only the inexperienced middle school and first year Lilies were present during the attack. The Temple Legion took the lead on the defensive efforts soon after their arrival, while simultaneously urging the Irma Lilies to continue fighting for their Garden.

During this battle, Mirai met the Irma Lily and fellow first year [[Yoshii Kasumiko]], who in her fright, was unable to follow the other Irma Lilies in battle. Promising to provide her with cover, Mirai and Kazane urge Kasumiko to join her sisters in arms in the front-lines, and Kasumiko, equally impressed and motivated by the Temple Legion's prowess, eventually agrees to join the battle.

With the aid of the Temple Legion, the Lilies of Irma ultimately succeeded in defending their Kiyosumi-Shirakawa Campus. However, the event personally affected Mirai, who was left heartbroken after seeing many of Irma's Lilies mourning the deaths of their companions. Not wishing for that tragedy to repeat itself, Mirai, Kazane, Towa and Susu make a pact between themselves, vowing that if the same situation ever comes to pass in Ludvico, they should always prioritize saving the lives of the Garden's Lilies, even if doing so causes the Garden itself to be lost.

After their first meeting during the Campus Defense, Mirai and Kasumiko remained in contact and became close friends. At one point, Mirai gave Kasumiko her purple ribbon.

====The Makuhari Recapture====
Not long after the Kiyosumi-Shirakawa Campus Defense, the Makuhari area of Chiba was completely lost to the Huge, and so, the Temple Legion was among the Legions selected in the multi-Garden efforts to reclaim it. It was during this period that Mirai came to meet one [[Nagasawa Yuki]] of [[Odaiba Girls' School]], who was suffering greatly at the time due to the sudden and sour dissolution of her relationship with the [[Funada Ui|Funada]] [[Funada Kiito|Twins]]. The preparations for the Makuhari Recapture continued well into Mirai's time as a second year. During this time, Mirai was contacted by GEHENA, who offered her a way to regain control of her ever increasing abilities, and under Instructor Rina's influence, Mirai agreed with the offer. However, while making her way to GEHENA's laboratory, Mirai was suddenly ambushed by a Cave which was not reported to Ludvico, and so, unable to call for backup, Mirai was eventually overwhelmed by the ceaseless outpour of Huge.

Left on the brink of death, Mirai was collected by GEHENA, who subjected her to a Boosting experiment. While this allowed her to survive her injuries, Mirai was horrified at her new nature as a Boosted Lily, which in turn caused her to become increasingly distant from Raimu, Seren and Sachie. Ultimately, Mirai annulled her vows as Sachie's Schwester, and told Seren that she shouldn't give Raimu the Medalha she had left her any longer. During this time, Mirai had her [[CHARM]], a pre-production prototype [[GC-15 Asterion|Asterion]], remodeled in order to better fit Raimu's shorter stature, and soon after, Mirai suddenly abandoned Ludvico entirely.

Likely during this period, Mirai came into possession of her father's old observation journal, from which she learned that Raimu was actually born as a Boosted Lily due to the experiments conducted on their mother, with the same possibly being true for Mirai herself. The journal's final page, which contained a prediction of the full extents Raimu's power could reach in the future, had been torn off, but Mirai was eventually able to retrieve it, possibly from her father directly.

At one point, Mirai met the first year [[Kuroki Francisca Yuria]] during an encounter with the Huge, shortly after the latter had herself been made into a Boosted Lily. Mirai revealed to Yuria that she was also a Boosted Lily, noting how holding the same secret made them alike. In turn, Yuria confided in Mirai her ever increasing fears of the powers she had been given, completely distraught at the fact that she was "being forced to remain alive by a power not her own". Mirai tells Yuria of how she keeps on fighting so that Sachie, Raimu and Seren may be safe, and Yuria wonders if that is what makes her so strong. In response, Mirai asks that Yuria join her in looking after them as well, citing that she wants her to "keep on living".

Mirai asks that Yuria treasure herself more, telling her that herself and many others would be saddened by seeing her get hurt. Noting the abnormal circumstances of the Caves that led them to be made into Boosted Lilies, Mirai vows to keep on fighting to protect her loved ones from the dangers they've faced, and before parting ways, Yuria asks that Mirai also don't allow herself to be killed, to which Mirai assuredly responded that she "would not die".<ref>As shown in [[Assault Lily: Lily Collection 2023|Lily Collection 2023]]</ref>

Though refusing to return to Ludvico, Mirai would later come to Raimu's rescue after learning that she had been suddenly met with a Cave. Once she arrives at the scene, Raimu, currently a middle school Lily in training, is ecstatic to see her sister, as she can finally fulfill their promise of fighting side by side. Mirai, however, coldly dismisses Raimu, remarking that she is "unfit to be a Lily". As Mirai unleashes her [[Rare Skill]], [[Phase Transcendence]], the power boost granted her by the Boosting experiments causes her to fail to control the immense flow of [[Magi]] characteristic of the Skill, ultimately causing her to explode as Raimu and Seren watch in horror.

====Schwester's Secret====

Following her apparent death, Mirai's remains are once again retrieved by GEHENA and subjected to a second Boosting procedure, which once again restores her to full health. However, due to having endured multiple Boosting procedures at this point, Mirai becomes afflicted by a condition called "'''Madness'''" (狂化), which causes her to completely lose her sense of identity and attack both Lilies and Huge indiscriminately. Taking advantage of this, GEHENA turns Mirai into a mindless underling.

Mirai resurfaces for the first time shortly after the Temple Legion fails to take down a Gigant-class Huge with the [[Neunwelt Tactic]], using her Phase Transcendence to divert the Huge away from the Lilies. Mirai immediately leaves the scene after doing so, and Raimu, Seren and Sachie follow in pursuit of her, which in turn prompts Mirai to begin attacking the three Lilies, displaying an almost animalistic level of anger. The Lilies continue to plead with Mirai that she remember them as they fight, and eventually, Mirai is briefly able to regain her consciousness after glimpsing at Sachie's Medalha.

In her brief moment of clarity, Mirai addresses the three Lilies, expressing her gratitude at Seren for keeping their promise, and being relieved that Raimu and Sachie are alive and well. Though the Lilies attempt to reach out to Mirai, hoping that she'd return to their side, she refuses, afraid that she'll eventually attack them once again, as she is "no longer herself". Finally, Mirai tells the three Lilies that should they encounter her again, they must kill her with no hesitation, before fleeing the scene once more.

The Temple Legion soon reunites with Mirai for the second time while on another mission, and this time, she begins to immediately attack the Lilies, easily overpowering the entire Legion with little issue. Temple Legion member Kuroki Francisca Yuria theorizes that the multiple Boosting experiments she was subjected to caused the Huge cells in her body to go out of control and overtake her completely, and after realizing that she is able to recover from otherwise lethal wounds, Yuria surmises that the only way to defeat her is with a Magisphere.

And so, the Temple Legion members work to restrain Mirai for long enough to allow Raimu to take the shot, and after seeing a vision of her sister once again expressing her desire to see Raimu become a Lily like her, she ultimately shoots Mirai with the Magisphere. As the Magie destroys the Huge cells in Mirai's body, she once again regains her consciousness, and in her final moments, Mirai tells Sachie and Seren that she is proud of them, and once again assures Raimu that she will surely become an outstanding Lily.

====The Bond with the White Rose - Second Half====
After the Instructors [[Makabe Melania Sayoko]] and [[Toride Suzanne Reika]] disable the protective barrier surrounding Ludvico, a Great Cave soon forms over the Garden, allowing the Huge to begin attacking its facilities in large numbers, with the Temple Legion, as well as Towa and Susu, leading the defensive efforts while aiding in the evacuation of the Lilies still in the campus.

When [[Ichinomiya Michaela Himari]], the current captain of the Temple Legion, exhausts herself in battle while attempting to reach Ludvico's facilities, she sees a vision of Mirai and Kazane while unconscious, who urge her to keep on fighting to protect the Garden's Lilies, assuring her that they'll be by her side all the way. Later, when Himari is finally able to regroup with her Legion mates, she is briefly shown accompanied by Mirai and Kazane's spirits.

==Legacy==
Mirai's death greatly impacted her former Schwester, Sachie, who, consumed by her grief, became closed off and reserved, while at the same time being unable to fight properly even as a member of the Temple Legion. However, her past relationship with Mirai allowed her to develop a bond with Raimu, eventually allowing her to overcome her grief and leading the pair to take the Schwester's Oath, vowing to fulfill the dream Mirai left them with of one day returning the world to being filled with life. After learning of GEHENA's involvement with Mirai's death, as well as their interest on Raimu due to her abilities, Sachie would eventually fulfill Mirai's dreams of creating a Legion of her own, establishing the rebel [[Legion Ironside]] in defiance to Ludvico's compliance with Ludvico's experiments, with Raimu, Seren, Towa and Susu among its members.

Mirai, together with Kazane, were also highly influential to the Lilies they met during their first year of high school. Following their initial meeting, Kasumiko, greatly inspired by the pair, devoted herself to fighting in the [[Zones|AZ position]], hoping to defeat as many Huge as she could in honor of the lives lost during the Kiyosumi-Shirakawa Campus defense.<ref>https://x.com/assault_lily/status/1650120142553227264 @assault_lily Twitter. Nagasawa Yuki was similarly determined to fight in honor of Mirai's death, participating in both the Makuhari Recapture and the [[Odaiba Counteroffensive]] as a tribute to her friend, where she even came to honorarily inherit Mirai's legendary title of "The Demoness".<ref>https://x.com/assault_lily/status/1272175827627606017 @assault_lily Twitter. In honor of Mirai's memory, Yuki wore the ribbon given to her on her arm during the Makuhari recapture, and later, when joining [[Legion Hronesnæsse]], she incorporated it into her Legion uniform as a tie, which she wears to this day.<ref name=":1" />

When Ludvico's campus suffered an attack by the Huge caused by Instructors Reika and Sayoko disabling the Garden's protective barrier, Towa and Susu chose to aid in evacuating the Lilies still in the Garden over fighting the two Instructors, hoping to keep the promise they had made to Mirai. And similarly, Irma's Legions Irminshines and [[Legion Hakolberand|Hakolberand]] were also driven to help Ludvico defend themselves from the Cave, seeking to reciprocate the help they received from the Temple Legion during the Kiyosumi-Shirakawa Campus Defense two years prior. Though the battle left the Garden completely in ruins, their efforts successfully allowed the Lilies to be safely evacuated, fulfilling the third years' promise to Mirai that they would always prioritize the lives of the Lilies over the Garden itself.

==Family==
Mirai's younger sister, [[Kishimoto Lucia Raimu]], is a kindhearted and hard working girl who also chose to attend [[Ludvico Private Girls' Seminary]] in order to follow in her sister's steps. While initially integrating the Temple Legion, she would later join the independent Legion Ironside, taking a stand against Ludvico's allegiance to GEHENA, while also hoping to realize Mirai's unfulfilled dreams.

Mirai's father, Professor Kishimoto, was a Professor and researcher in [[GEHENA]], specializing in biology. Though implied to still be alive, he has been missing since Mirai's initial disappearance.

Mirai's mother was murdered, presumably by Seren's father, Professor Amamiya. She was one of GEHENA's test subjects in their research on the impact of Huge cells on unborn fetuses.

Mirai was one of the most skilled Duelists of her generation, which is widely considered to be the period where the combat style reached its peak. Despite operating in a Legion, Mirai was noted to frequently act on her own, dashing straight to the front lines in spite of her abnormal tendency to attract the Huge's presence. Her fighting technique was remarkably fierce, one of the reasons she was referred to as "The Demoness", and it directly influenced the fighting style of her Schwester, Sachie,<ref>Assault Lily Magazine: Vol. 03, Page 06, second paragraph</ref> who would later herself serve as inspiration to the notably relentless [[Rokkaku Shiori]].

Due to unspecified health issues, Yuki Kotoha was temporarily replaced in the role of Murasame by Makihara Yui (the actress of [[Inokuchi Tomi|Hei no Hana]] in the Sanngrithr plays) in early performances of the play. Yuki returned to play the role of Rengetsu beginning with the evening performance on 12/12.

Sumire visits Class B together with Asahi and Yukino, taunting Clara and her classmates for not being chosen for their Class A, and mocking [[Kishimoto Lucia Raimu]] after she expresses her desire to take the [[Ludvico Private Girls' Seminary#Schwester System|Schwester's Oath]] with a senior. Later, when Ludvico receives a report of a [[Cave]] during its Easter Festival, Instructor [[Kosaka Anastasia Ryoko]] invites the first year Lilies to join her Cheering Squad, wishing to prevent them from deploying to the battlefield. Asahi is initially reluctant, believing she'll be chosen to integrate the [[Temple Legion]], but after Raimu is appointed as the final member, Asahi begrudgingly decides to join Ryoko, with Sumire and Yukino following her lead.

After Asahi is eventually selected to join the Temple Legion, she, Yukino and Sumire once again visit Class B, where Asahi boldly proclaims that she'll likely take [[Amamiya Sophia Seren]]'s place, as they share both [[Rare Skill]] and [[Zones|Zone]]. After taunting Seren for her failed attempts to become [[Kuroki Francisca Yuria]]'s Schwester, Asahi proposes that she and Seren compete, with the first to take the Schwester's Oath with the strongest Lily they can winning the chance to become Clara's.

Later, Asahi, Sumire and Yukino join Class B in discussing Raimu's Rare Skill, [[Charisma]], with Asahi smugly remarking that having a strong Rare Skill is meaningless if she cannot use it properly. Clara then fires back at Asahi, informing her that she had lost her contest with Seren, but Asahi surprisingly accepts her defeat, and the pair make amends. Fearing that Raimu will continue to be targeted by Caves, [[Hasegawa Gabriella Tsugumi]] encourages the other first years to become strong enough to fight by her side, with all of them in agreement.

Ludvico is described as a "missionary Garden", perhaps alluding to a similar academic structure as the one found in Christian missionary schools, where students are taught the Christian faith and practices as part of the official school curriculum. Indeed, many elements of Christianity are perceivable in the Garden's culture: their Instructors are referred to as "Nuns" (シスター) and don a habit reminiscent of ones found in traditional convents. Ludvico once employed the Top Legion system, theirs called the [[Temple Legion|'''Temple Legion''']], which was unique in the fact that, apart from the fixed roles of captain and vice-captain, it does not employ a fixed lineup. Instead, before every deployment, the strongest Lilies at that particular point in time are appointed by a dedicated instructor to join the Legion. Following Ludvico's collapse, the Garden's higher administration ceased to be, and as such, the Temple Legion was unable to have any members (apart from the fixed captain and vice-captain positions) appointed to it. Though their captain, [[Ichinomiya Michaela Himari]] stated her desire to rebuild the Temple Legion anew, it is not yet known if they resumed their activities.

Due to ever increasing tensions amongst Ludvico's students due to the Garden's affiliation with GEHENA, a group of Lilies led by [[Fukuyama Jeanne Sachie]] formed the first ever independent Legion in the Garden's history, called [[Legion Ironside|'''Legion Ironside''']]. However, because Ludvico forbids the creation of independent Legions, they were not officially recognized by the school administration, and as such essentially operated at their own discretion, completely apart from the Garden's commands. Due to their independent status, Ironside was left as the only active Legion after the Garden's collapse, and as such, they operated as Ludvico's forefront representative in the Temple Legion's stead in the events that followed.

As a notoriously pro-GEHENA Garden, Ludvico conducted particularly unethical experiments on their students, targeting Lilies of the highest Skiller Values, as it was the case with [[Kishimoto Maria Mirai]], who, even before undergoing the boosting procedures, was considered to be the strongest Lily in all of Ludvico's history<ref>Assault Lily Magazine: Vol 03, Page 24, first paragraph</ref>. Their Instructors were shown to mostly act in accordance to GEHENA's orders, even if unwillingly so, as it was the case with [[Izumi Rosa Rina]] and [[Kosaka Anastasia Ryoko]].

When Mirai was shown to have been brought back to life by a post-mortem boosting procedure, Izumi Rosa Rina departs from the Garden, being replaced by two newcomer Instructors [[Makabe Melania Sayoko]] and [[Kaido Beatrice Chiharu]], while the members of the Temple Legion and Class B of first years grow increasingly distrustful of the Garden's ways. Not long after joining Ludvico, Chiharu is mysteriously murdered, with the Garden's administration falsely accusing Rina as the perpetrator. The escalating circumstances of distrust amongst the students culminate in [[Fukuyama Jeanne Sachie]], one of the Garden's aces, leaving the [[Temple Legion]] and forming a Legion of her own, titled [[Legion Ironside|Ironside]], in direct opposition to Ludvico and GEHENA's practices.

Legion Ironside directly clashed against Ludvico and GEHENA, particularly battling the pro-GEHENA instructors Sayoko and [[Toride Suzanne Reika]]. In their final confrontation, the Instructors orchestrate a large-scale Huge attack against the Garden and its students, causing extensive damage to the school facilities and resulting in the Irregular Huge test subjects held in GEHENA's Ludvico Labs to break free. Through the efforts of the Temple Legion and Ironside, as well as the aid of Irma legions [[Legion Irminshines|Irminshines]] and [[Legion Hakolberand|Hakolberand]], the Huge are successfully repelled, however, the Garden's facilities were left severerly damaged by the Huge's attacks, and as multiple of the Garden's Instructors perished in this battle, Ludvico was no longer able to function as a Garden.

As the only Legion able to continue operating, Legion Ironside was at the forefront of most of Ludvico's activities following its collapse, where it continuously collaborated with other Tokyo Legions such as [[Legion Hronesnæsse|Hronesnæsse]] and [[Legion Hervör|Hervör]], as well as Yurigaoka's [[Legion Ráðgríðr|Team Hitotsuyanagi]] in the events that followed the [[Assault Lily: League of Gardens|Shimokitazawa expedition]] and the [[Area Defense Collapse Incident]]. A multi-Garden initiative, called the "Conference for the Tokyo Defense Project", was held in the still derelict Garden's campus, and had as one of its directives the coverage of Ludvico's territory by other Gardens of Kanto, as well as the provision of aid for the Garden's rebuilding.

Legion Ironside continued to lead defensive efforts and aid other Gardens in curtailing the Huge's advance within its territory, namely aiding in the pushback against the multitudes of Irregular Huge that relentlessly emerged throughout the streets of Tokyo following the Area Defense Collapse Incident. By the time of the [[Assault Lily: New Chapter|Izu Oshima Nest Survey]] Expedition, Ludvico was stated to have resumed operations, though it is not yet known whether GEHENA is still involved with the Garden in any capacity.

==Schwester System==
Much like the other members of the Three Greats, Ludvico also has its own tradition of a sisterhood pact, named the '''Schwester System''' (''Schwester'' being German for "sister"). This system is much closer to the Schutzengel's Oath of Yurigaoka, where it can only be taken between a senior and a junior, and the older Lily is expected to assume a role of guidance and mentorship. Unlike Yurigaoka, however, it is not permitted for multiple students to take the oath.

When taking the Schwester's oath, both Lilies will exchange the ''Medalhas'' ("medallion", in Portuguese)<ref>Assault Lily Magazine: Vol 03, Page 03, fourth paragraph</ref> that are habitual for Ludvico Lilies to wear. Seemingly any kind of pendant counts as a Medalha, as Lilies have been shown exchanging medallions, rosaries, diamond necklaces and even an anime character necklace. A Lily will normally directly approach the one she wishes to become Schwesters with, however, during the '''Easter Festival''' held yearly by the Garden, it is a common tradition for a senior to leave her Medalha inside an easter egg, giving the privilege to whoever finds it to ask them to become their Schwester.

Like Yurigaoka's Schutzengel System, the Schwester's oath can be annulled, and a Lily may do so unilaterally.
