Fukuyama Jeanne Sachie

From Assault Lily Wiki

Fukuyama Jeanne Sachie (福山・ジャンヌ・幸恵) is a second-year Lily who attends Ludvico Private Girls' Academy. She is the captain of Legion Ironside, and a former member of the Garden's Top Legion, the Temple Legion. She is the Schwester of Kishimoto Lucia Raimu, and formerly the Schwester of Kishimoto Maria Mirai. Sachie is regarded as one of the finest Lilies in all of Ludvico, and is considered one of Tokyo's Star Lilies. Sachie is one of the main protagonists of the Ludvico series of stage plays.

Personality[edit | edit source]

Sachie is usually of a gentle, sisterly demeanor, with her kindness matched by a very strong sense of responsibility. She is nice and friendly to her fellow Lilies, and will even playfully tease her closest friends on occasion. She carries herself very diligently, which, coupled with her extensive combat knowledge and experience, means she is very well trusted by her peers. As a leader, Sachie is a notably motivating figure, with her resolve and sense of righteousness capable of inspiring not only her own Legion members, but even Lilies from different Gardens, such as Team Hitotsuyanagi. Sachie is particularly empathetic towards her old friend Shirai Yuyu, having undergone similar experiences to hers.

Sachie is noted to be impatient at times, which was often brought to her attention by her Schwester, Mirai, who always advised her that "so long as you keep calm, you can always do what you set out to."

After the death of Mirai, Sachie was unable to move on from her grief, despite the best attempts of her closest friends, such as Seto Veronica Ichika, to give her support. This caused her to become exceedingly melancholic, to the point of affecting her performance in battle. When first meeting Raimu, Sachie was initially dismissive, and even occasionally aggressive towards her, as the young Lily's resemblance to Mirai only furthered her internal turmoil.

However, as Raimu insisted on staying by Sachie's side, her resolve to become strong enough to carry Mirai's legacy forward pushed Sachie to confront her own grief, and eventually open her heart once again. After taking the Schwester's Oath, Sachie and Raimu grew to be incredibly close, as each their experiences with Mirai allowed them to form a very resilient bond, with Sachie becoming particularly protective of Raimu when GEHENA began showing their interest in the young Lily. The pair became each other's confidants in their troubles, and will often turn to each other for comfort.

History[edit | edit source]

During her time in junior high, Sachie met and became very close with the Lilies Seto Veronica Ichika, Kuroki Francisca Yuria and Tachibana Theresia Nagisa, with the four engaging in a friendly rivalry as members of the Garden's strongest middle school Reserve, whom Nagisa was the captain of. At an indeterminate point in time, Sachie met Kishimoto Maria Mirai, hailed the strongest Lily in all of Ludvico, and one of the greatest Lilies of the Duelist generation.

Sachie and Mirai grew incredibly close, with Mirai often speaking of the dreams her father, a researcher, had of restoring the world to the abundance of life it enjoyed prior to the Huge's appearance. One day, at Ludvico's cemetery, Maria's Hill, Sachie and Mirai took the Schwester's Oath, with the place becoming a special location to Sachie, as she and Mirai would often spend time together there.

Once entering into her first year of high school, Sachie was already a skilled combatant. Having trained directly under the incredibly powerful Mirai, she modeled her fighting style after that of her Schwester. Because of this, she was repeatedly selected for the Garden's Top Legion, the Temple Legion, and her fighting style, described as a blend of simultaneous offense and defense, would go on to inspire the likes of Yurigaoka Lily and fellow Circlet Bless user Rokkaku Shiori.[1]

The Odaiba Counteroffensive[edit | edit source]

Sachie was one of the Lilies present at the Odaiba Counteroffensive. She integrated the First Division, sharing the battlefield with Yurigaoka Girls' Academy's Shirai Yuyu and Odaiba Girls' School's Kawamura Yuzuriha, whom Sachie would later become good friends with. Sachie was also joined by Ichinomiya Himari, a Lily from Irma Girls' School for the Arts, who became greatly inspired by Sachie's gallant fighting style, eventually leading her to abandon Irma and transfer into Ludvico, in hopes to share the battlefield with Sachie once again.

As a member of the First Division, Sachie originally joined their efforts to directly attack the Great Cave looming upon Odaiba's Wakasu Park together with the Fifth Division, countering the Huge coming from the southern routes as they made their advance. However, the Fifth Division diverted from their plans, and was rendered unable to regroup with the First, who themselves were stuck fending off large swaths of Huge pouring near the Tokyo Gate Bridge, which prevented them from reaching the Cave.

The First Division then took to drawing the Huge away from the area, hoping to clear the path for the Second and Third Divisions to attack the Nestless Ultra in theirs and the Fifth Division's stead. They were faced with an insurmountable amount of Huge, followed by continuously materializing Caves, and eventually, Sachie and Himari were knocked down. The pair was saved by Yuyu, who alone fought off the advancing Huge in their stead, unleashing the full might of her Lunatic Trancer, further boosted by Divine Possession.

Yuyu was able to destroy every last Huge and Cave within the tunnel before collapsing, causing Sachie to be incredibly moved by her bravery. With their path cleared, the First Division set off to Wakasu Park just before the Second, Third and Fifth divisions were able to destroy the Nestless Ultra. In the aftermath of the battle, Sachie's performance, particularly her efforts together with Yuyu, served to further boost her popularity within Ludvico and beyond, placing her as one of the Star Lilies of her generation.

Stage plays[edit | edit source]

Shortly after the Odaiba Counteroffensive, Mirai would suddenly annul her vows with Sachie, as well as desert Ludvico, disappearing entirely. This left Sachie devastated, but she still remained a member of the Temple Legion nonetheless. After Mirai was pronounced dead shortly before the Makuhari Recapture, Sachie became consumed by grief, causing her to close her heart to others, as well as perform unusually poorly in battle.

At an unknown point in time, Sachie was given a custom CHARM, the Fierbois, by Ryuto Girls' Academy Arsenal Amatsu Marei.

League of Gardens[edit | edit source]

Following a sudden outpour of Huge in Shimokitazawa, Tokyo, The now second year Sachie and Matsunaga Brigitta Kayo are deployed to counter their advance. They are joined by the twins Funada Kiito and Funada Ui of Odaiba's Legion Hronesnæsse, as well as Yuzuriha and her close friend, Tsukioka Momiji from Legion Heorot Saints, as they presume a Gigant-class Huge to be present in the area. Sachie is overjoyed to learn that Yuyu will also be joining them, and that she has integrated a Legion, as it means her dear friend will not be alone anymore.

As the pair continue their advance, Sachie finds Toda Eulalia Kotohi, a first-year Ludvico Lily, attempting to duel Lilies Kon Kanaho and Aizawa Kazuha. She reprimands the junior for her bad habit of dueling Lilies unprovoked, and the trio join Sachie's team as they continue fighting their way through the swarms of Huge infesting the streets. Kotohi, however, struggles to fight properly, and after Sachie inquires her on the matter, Kotohi reveals that apart from dueling Lilies she deems noteworthy, she has very little combat experience, and is actually afraid of the Huge. Upon learning this, Sachie suggests that Kotohi return to the Garden so she does not hold them back.

Sachie's group once again meets with the Odaiba Lilies, and learning that Yuyu would also be joining them, Kiito expresses her worries, pointing out Yuyu's reputation as a lone, uncontrollable Lily. Sachie and Yuzuriha then tell Kiito how Yuyu's current personality is a result of her traumatic experience during the Koshu Withdrawal, with Kayo adding that Yuyu had avoided using her Lunatic Trancer ever since.

Sachie eventually reunites with Yuyu, followed by the newly formed Team Hitotsuyanagi as they make contact with the Gigant-class. Suddenly, however, Kotohi begins to attack Yuyu, but while Sachie presumes this to simply be her hobby of sparring with other Lilies, Kotohi snaps in anger, revealing to the other Lilies that Yuyu had left her and her friend for dead during the Koshu Withdrawal, eventually causing her friend to die. As Kotohi continues to attack Yuyu, Sachie and the other Lilies move in to stop her, with Kiito and Momiji's words ultimately allowing her to regain her composure.

With a plan to destroy the Gigant-class Huge in hands, Sachie and the other Legions initially take to clearing the Huge in the area as Team Hitotsuyanagi performs the Neunwelt Tactic, but as they do so, they encounter a unique, Large-class Huge, that is impervious to any attacks. With no other choice, Sachie's team performs their own Neunwelt Tactic to destroy it, with Kotohi eventually injuring herself due to Kiito's rash fighting style. After successfully destroying the Gigant-class, Sachie's team converges with Team Hitotsuyanagi just in time to see the Gigant-class make an escape.

Learning that the Gigant-class Huge possessed a Magie Reflector, the Legions formulate a plan to perform two Neunwelt Tactics in order to defeat it. With Kotohi still not recovered from her injury, Sachie once again asks that she return to Ludvico, but the Lily refuses, insisting she must see this battle to its end. Sachie is approached by Kanaho, telling her that she has doubts over Kotohi's apparent inexperience, remarking how she appeared very skilled during their prior duel.

After replenishing their Magie, the Legions once again split themselves into two teams in order to perform the two Neunwelts, which eventually succeed in destroying the Gigant-class Hufe.

Schwester's Prayer[edit | edit source]

Main article: Assault Lily: Schwester's Prayer

Sachie and Ichika learn from Kayo that Himari, her previous comrade during the Odaiba Counteroffensive, has transferred into Ludvico, pointing out that with her abilities and experience, she is sure to be chosen for the Temple Legion soon. Encouraging their friend, Sachie and Ichika remark that Kayo will surely be chosen as well. As they carry on with their daily lives, Ichika notices that Sachie is still unable to move on from Mirai's death, and worries for her old friend's well being. Since her Schwester's death, Sachie has since paid daily visits to Maria's hill, where she constantly wallows in her memories of Mirai, often to the point of tears.

As a second year Lily, Sachie is tasked with supervising the newly enrolled first-years in their training. There, she meets Mirai's younger sister, Kishimoto Lucia Raimu. As their training continues, Raimu struggles to properly wield her CHARM, the lavender Asterion previously used by Mirai. This prompts Sachie to lash out at her, telling her that she is "unfit to be a Lily".

Sachie once again visits Maria's Hill, and as she recalls the day she and Mirai took the Schwester's Oath, she is approached by Kayo, who tells her that she harbors suspicions over Mirai's death. Kayo tells Sachie of how the official reports on the incident are unusually vague, simply remarking that Mirai "died in combat" with no further detail. Though Kayo remarks that she feels uneasy over the matter, Sachie tells Kayo to let it go.

Ludvico is alerted to a Cave, and with no orders to assemble the Temple Legion, Sachie and the other second years lead the way in fighting the Huge. However, Sachie fights unusually poorly, much to the disappointment of Himari. Having hoped to once again witness Sachie's impeccable form she displayed during the Odaiba Counteroffensive, Himari argues that Sachie lost her spark after being abandoned by Mirai. While upset at her words, Sachie finds herself unable to argue against them, recognizing that her grief is holding her back.

The second years are joined by Raimu and Seren, and as they begin to push back against the Huge, Sachie watches as Raimu struggles to fight properly. Regaining her composure, Sachie declares her determination to protect Raimu, as she is her Schwester's sister. With the help of Marei, who had come to visit Ludvico, the Lilies are ultimately successful in fending off the Huge.

In the aftermath, Raimu speaks with Sachie, having noticed that Seren appeared to avoid her during the battle. Wishing to become stronger so that she can become more supportive of Seren's struggles, Raimu tells Sachie that she hopes to continue training under her. Sachie is hesitant, arguing that being together would only cause the two of them to be overtaken by their past memories with Mirai, but Raimu points out how even despite this, Sachie had continued to mentor her for all this time. Having grown to deeply admire Sachie during their time together, Raimu boldly declares that she wishes to become her Schwester.

Later, Sachie speaks with Nagisa over the phone, telling her of Raimu's sudden declaration, and while Nagisa is ecstatic at the news, Sachie is unsure how to respond. After telling Nagisa that she plans to hide her easter egg during Ludvico's Easter Festival, Nagisa wonders what would be her reaction if a Lily other than Raimu found it, and as Sachie becomes flustered, Nagisa claims that she has already found her answer.

The Easter Festival comes, and as the first years begin their egg hunt, Sachie provides Marei with a short demonstration of the Fierbois she made for her. Marei is curious as to why Sachie has not made use it since the Shimokitazawa Expedition, and Sachie responds that she is still not fully used to it. Later, Ichika speaks with Marei, pondering that Sachie still wants to hold onto the CHARM she used when fighting together with Mirai, a Dainsleif Carbine.

Raimu eventually finds Sachie's egg hidden at Maria's Hill, however, she is saddened to find it empty. Before she is able to return, a Cave materializes near the Garden, with all the Huge strangely converging at Maria's Hill. Predicting the appearance of a Gigant-class, the Garden assembles the Temple Legion, placing Himari as its captain, and both Sachie and Raimu as members. The Temple Legion arrives at Maria's Hill just as they make contact with the Gigant-class, and so, they promptly begin a Neunwelt Tactic. During her turn with the Magisphere, a disconcerted Kayo reveals to Sachie that the true reason Mirai had suddenly left Ludvico was because she had been subjected to a Boosting procedure at the hands of GEHENA.

While Sachie is initially incredulous, Yuria confirms this, pointing out how GEHENA always targets the strongest Lilies in the Garden to use as test subjects. However, Yuria remarks how even in spite of that, Mirai still fought to protect Raimu and Seren in the end, and urges Sachie to do the same. As she receives the Magisphere, Raimu demands that Seren tell her what happened to Mirai when she died, and Seren reluctantly reveals that she had exploded due to her Rare Skill, Phase Transcendence, going out of control. Sachie and Raimu are both shocked at this, but Raimu is eventually able to gain control of herself, and successfully destroys the Gigant-class Huge as she seemingly awakens to the Rare Skill Shukuchi.

In the aftermath of the battle, Sachie finds Raimu alone at Maria's Hill. There, she finally agrees to take the Schwester's Oath with Raimu, promising that she'll keep the younger Lily safe in Mirai's stead, and telling Raimu she'll train her into becoming the finest Lily she can be. They are interrupted by a Cave, and the pair of Schwesters leave together for battle.

Schwester's Secret[edit | edit source]

Main article: Assault Lily: Schwester's Secret

Since taking the Schwester's Oath, Raimu and Sachie have grown much closer, developing a strong bond over sharing their experiences with Mirai. However, they're still grappling with the reality that Mirai was a Boosted Lily, and turn to each other for comfort. As they recall Mirai's dreams of seeing the world once again filled with life, the pair affirms their desire to bring that dream to fruition.

Later on, Sachie and Kayo are surprised to learn that Nagisa suddenly transferred back to Ludvico, having moved to study abroad at the Swedish Garden Heimskringla Trädgård during junior high. Nagisa had returned after learning that Ichika had suffered a serious injury during their previous battle, and Kayo explains that while on their way back from the Cave, Ichika had injured her leg while attempting to protect a group of first years from the Huge. Kayo blames herself for Ichika's injury, pointing out that her frenzied fighting style while under the influence of her Lunatic Trancer prevented her from fighting properly. However, Sachie and Nagisa try to assure Kayo that she has no reason to feel guilty, and encourage her to pay Ichika a visit.

At a later time, Ludvico receives a report of a Cave, and as the second year Lilies preemptively deploy for battle, Sachie notices that Kayo is unusually reserved while fighting. As the Temple Legion members begin to be selected, Nagisa brings Kayo along, believing that she'll be chosen like usual. However, the first year Hasegawa Gabriella Tsugumi is selected instead, prompting Kayo to flee the battlefield as they arrive at the Cave's location. Nonetheless, the Temple Legion performs a successful Neunwelt Tactic, but though their finishing shot was a direct hit, the Huge is not defeated, and as they are not depleted of their Magie, the Lilies are unable to continue fighting.

To their surprise, Mirai appears alive before them, utilizing her Phase Transcendence to repel the Huge before immediately leaving. Sachie, followed by Raimu and Seren follow after her, but as soon as they reach her Mirai attacks them, appearing completely feral. The three Lilies fight Mirai, with Sachie pleading with her former Schwester to remember her, but their pleas fail to reach the unthinking Mirai. After glimpsing at Sachie's Medalha, Mirai briefly regains her consciousness, but while she is grateful for being able to meet them once again, Mirai urges the trio to keep away from her, as she is "no longer herself". Finally, Mirai tells the Lilies that should they encounter her again, they must kill her with no hesitation, and as Mirai once again flees, Sachie wonders if there really is no way to save her life.

Not long after, the Temple Legion is dispatched to neutralize another Cave, and before they are able to finish their Neunwelt, Mirai appears once again. This time, however, she immediately begins attacking the Lilies, single-handedly overpowering all of the Temple Legion. After Mirai shows herself able to regenerate from an otherwise lethal injury, Yuria presumes that she was subjected to a second Boosting-procedure after her death, which caused the Huge cells in her body to go out of control and overtake her, making her into a quasi-Huge.

Concluding that the only way to stop her is by using the Magisphere to destroy the Huge cells in her body, the Temple Legion members work to restrain Mirai so that Raimu can take the shot, with Sachie pleads that she does so in order to "turn [Mirai] back to who she used to be". A reluctant Raimu eventually fires the Magisphere, and as Mirai's body is purged of the Huge cells, she briefly regains her consciousness once again as she falls onto Sachie's arms. In her final moments, Mirai expresses her pride in both Sachie and Seren, and tells Raimu that she'll surely become an outstanding Lily.

In the aftermath, Sachie joins Raimu in praying for Mirai's soul at Maria's Hill, where the pair allow themselves to air their grief over Mirai's fate. Sensing that an ever greater battle looms in their horizons, they decide to stand their ground, reaffirming their hope to one day see Mirai's dreams of a world filled with life once again fulfilled.

White Resistance ~The Promise's Path~[edit | edit source]

Sachie, Kayo and Nagisa deliver the news of Mirai's fate to her former Legion mates, Takatori Natalie Towa and Li Christina Susu. Growing increasingly distrustful of the Garden's administration, they invite the two third-year Lilies to join them in the Temple Legion so they can help them in monitoring GEHENA from up close, as well as keep Raimu safe. The pair refuses, however, and wishing to carry Mirai's legacy forward, Towa proposes that they instead form their own Legion, revealing it to be a long held dream of Mirai's to fight together with Sachie, Raimu and Seren in a Legion of their own. Conflicted, Sachie asks to be given time to think.

During their regular training session, Sachie tutors both Raimu and one Nagase Marta Nonoka, and with both first-years still showing themselves to be very inexperienced, Sachie repeatedly scolds the two of them, particularly telling Raimu that she'll be "a Lily only useful for [the Neunwelt's] finishing shots" if she fails to improve. Their poor performance and Sachie's scolding leaves the two first years greatly depressed.

At Maria's Hill, Sachie prays to Mirai's spirit, asking her for guidance on what path she should take. There, she is met by Himari, and Sachie tells her of her wishes to continue Mirai's legacy and see her dreams fulfilled. Himari assures Sachie that all of the Temple Legion shares her sentiment, and after seemingly finding her answer, Sachie thanks Himari for the opportunity to fight by her side, and leaves.

Some time later, Sachie learns that Himari had been ambushed by an unreported Cave while tutoring Hanaoka Angela Moe away from the Garden campus, and together with the other Temple Legion members, she sets out to rescue her. After briefly running into Yuria, who had been luring the Huge away from the pair, the Lilies are able to reach Himari and Moe, but as they do so, the Lilies are surrounded by a multitude of Huge, including three Large-class Huge. They continuously struggle to push back against the Huge, and eventually, Himari is knocked down, prompting a panicking Moe to awaken to the Rare Skill Phantasm, which allows the Lilies to immediately take down all the surrounding Huge.

Himari is ecstatic, as Phantasm is a fundamental piece of the ideal fighting style she longs for, as she and Sachie shared the battlefield with Phantasm user Hibino Waku during the Odaiba Counteroffensive. However, Sachie is distraught at Himari's ambush, pointing out how the Garden did not alert them to such a serious Cave. Ultimately, Sachie declares that she will depart from the Temple Legion, as she cannot bring herself to trust Ludvico any longer.

Reuniting with Towa and Susu, Sachie wonders if it'd be possible to still have Himari integrate their Legion, but the pair are against it, remarking how as the head of the Temple Legion, rebelling against the Garden would likely only put Himari in greater danger. As such, Sachie decides to invite her fellow second-years, but they refuse, with Nagisa feeling particularly disheartened that Sachie is leaving their side after finally being reunited. Ichika also refuses, as she had not fully recovered from her leg injury, and feels that she would only be a liability to them. Ichika reveals that she is considering retiring from being a Lily, and instead become an Arsenal, offering to one day build a CHARM for Sachie. However, the thought of her longtime friend and sister in arms retiring deeply upsets Sachie, who leaves in tears.

Ludvico reports the appearance of a Cave, and though she is appointed to integrate the Temple Legion, Sachie refuses to join them. As she regroups with Raimu, Towa and Susu, they are joined by Ichika and the first year Saeki Julia Karen, and Sachie declares the name of their new Legion as "Ironside". Raimu notices that Seren is absent, and sets off to search for her. Sachie soon leaves after the two first years, and finds Seren swinging her CHARM aimlessly while suffering a mental breakdown. Sachie intercepts Seren's attacks, and the two fight. Sachie is eventually able to knock down Seren, and the first year reveals to her and Raimu that she had been told earlier that Raimu's father, Professor Kishimoto, had killed her mother after failing to use her as a test subject, wishing to observe the effects of Huge cells in unborn fetuses.

Sachie asks if this revelation outweighs her own experiences being by Raimu and Mirai's side, arguing that, even if it is the truth, it's yet another reason for her to take a stand and fight for what is just. Seren is able to regain her clarity, and finally, she rejoins Ironside as they move to converge with the Temple Legion. Upon arriving at the Cave's location, Legion Ironside tasks themselves with clearing the area while the Temple Legion performs the Neunwelt Tactic, however, during her turn with the Magisphere, Moe is unable to properly control it, and eventually causes it to be lost. And so, the Temple Legion members with Magie still remaining join Legion Ironside as they perform their own Neunwelt, which ultimately succeeds in destroying the Huge.

After the battle, Sachie tells the other second years of what she had learned from Seren, and Kayo tells Sachie that should it be true, there is a possibility that Raimu's mother was subjected to experiments as a replacement Seren's mother, which would mean Raimu was born a Boosted Lily. Though this causes Sachie to worry, Kayo surmises that, as her Rare Skill is Charisma, she is likely at less risk to develop any adverse side effects. Later, Sachie finds Raimu and Seren at Maria's Hill, telling them of the Instructors' announcement regarding the murder of Instructor Kaido Beatrice Chiharu.

White Resistance ~The Blade of Truth~[edit | edit source]

Main article: Assault Lily: White Resistance ~The Blade of Truth~

Despite the disapproval of the Garden's administration, Legion Ironside remains active. However, because the Garden's finest Lilies are now split between the two Legions, neither of them possess the nine members required to perform the Neunwelt Tactic. As such, when encountering the Temple Legion during a deployment to take down a Gigant-class Huge, Legion Ironside resigns themselves to clearing the field once again, while the Temple Legion relies on the help of Instructor Makabe Melania Sayoko.

Due to her refusal to integrate the Temple Legion despite the Garden's orders, Sachie is blacklisted from the regular training sessions as punishment. When Raimu and Seren express their disapproval, they are promptly removed from the training grounds as well. Two first years are then met by Instructor Kosaka Anastasia Ryoko, who secretly brings them to Sachie as she tests a new Charlemagne, built for her by Ichika. Reunited, the four Lilies are once again able to train as a Legion.

Later, Sachie and Yuria join Raimu and Seren in requesting the help of Sano Matilda Kokoro and Haneda Catalina Mei on investigating the true circumstances of the murder of Seren's mother, as well as Professor Kishimoto's current whereabouts. With Sachie and Yuria's approval, Kokoro and Mei, as well as Kayo, take to searching for information within the Garden, while Raimu and Seren decide to return to the Kishimoto family house, hoping to find useful information within Professor Kishimoto's old belongings.

While away from the Garden, Raimu and Seren are targeted by a Cave deployed by GEHENA, where they are faced with three Large-class Huge. Learning of this, Legion Ironside sets off to rescue them, however, they are met with a high amount of Small and Mid-class Huge, and so are unable to reach the pair. Ironside meets with the Temple Legion, and Sachie asks that they hold the Huge in place while Ironside makes their way to Raimu and Seren. Himari agrees, and Ironside leaves ahead.

Yuria is able to reach Raimu and Seren before the others, aiding them in fighting the Large-class Huge. However, as Seren is eventually knocked down, Yuria moves in to shield her from the Huge's attacks, causing her to be severely injured. The rest of Ironside arrives soon after, promptly destroying the Large-class Huge, and Sachie thanks Yuria for risking her life to keep Raimu and Seren safe.

In the aftermath, Sachie speaks with Yuria, telling her of how scared she was at the possibility of losing Raimu and Seren. Yuria vows that she'll protect Seren, her own Schwester, and encourages Sachie to do the same for Raimu. Later on, Sachie speaks with Ichika, remarking that she is no longer sure about standing against the Garden if it means risking the lives of her loved ones, but Ichika assures her that all members of Ironside are aware of the risks they would face, and that even so they chose to stand by her.

The Cave alert goes off, and the Lilies learn that a Gigant-class Huge has been deployed near Ludvico. As both the Temple Legion and Ironside assemble to defeat it, Sachie learns that Raimu, Seren and Kayo were trapped fighting Instructor Makabe Melania Sayoko. Together with Yuria, Tsugumi Karen, Sachie leaves to rescue them leaving the rest of Ironside under Himari's leadership as they perform the Neunwelt Tactic against the Gigant. Sachie's group soon reunites with Raimu, Seren and Kayo, who had been rescued by Instructor Izumi Rosa Rina, and as they make their way back to the Legions, they witness the Gigant-class escape. Upon reuniting with the other Lilies, Sachie learns that Nosaka Jacqueline Kazane had been resurrected the same way as Mirai was, leaving her in shock.

Reunited, the two Legions set off in pursuit of the Gigant-class while Kokoro retrieves them a second Neunwelt bullet. They begin a second Neunwelt Tactic as soon as Kokoro returns, but before they can finish it, the Gigant-class flees, and the group is ambushed by Instructors Sayoko and Toride Suzanne Reika, who reveal that they purposefully engineered the situation in order to drain all Lilies of their Magie, so that they could more easily retrieve Raimu. After both the Temple Legion and Ironside refuse to comply with their demands, the Instructors disable the protective barrier surrounding the Garden, causing a Great Cave to form over Ludvico's campus and allowing the Huge to directly attack its facilities.

In order to aid in evacuating the Lilies within the Garden, most of the Temple Legion, as well as Towa and Susu, leave the scene. Legion Ironside begins fighting the Instructors, but they are easily overpowered by the pair, with one of them being a Boosted Lily. The Instructors reveal that it was actually Seren's father, Professor Amamiya, who led GEHENA's experiments on the unborn.

The Lilies are joined by Instructors Ryoko and Rina in fighting Sayoko and Reika, and though they are finally able to gain the upper hand with the pair's aid, Ryoko suddenly kills both Sayoko and Reika in cold blood. As Rina and the Lilies watch in shock, Ryoko reveals herself to be Professor Amamiya, having fused his consciousness with Ryoko's in order to continue his observations of Raimu in secret. Ryoko confirms that due to Amamiya's experiments, Raimu was born a Boosted Lily, and further adds that due to having Huge cells in her body since birth, the Huge see her as one of their own.

The Lilies and Rina turn to battling Ryoko, but are completely overpowered due to the Instructor having undergone a special Boosting procedure that grants her a near limitless output of Magie. When Ryoko eventually lands a lethal blow on Seren, the shock drives Raimu to subconsciously command the Gigant-class Huge to attack her, and taking advantage of this, Seren and Yuria hold Ryoko in place, allowing the Gigant-class to land a direct hit on all three of them. Mustering all her strength, Sachie retrieves the Magisphere from Raimu's Asterion, and hands it over to Himari, who uses it to destroy the Gigant-class Huge.

Despite this, Ryoko still survives, and together with Himari and Nagisa, Sachie fights the Instructor once again. They are still unable to harm her, however, and Raimu, enraged at Seren's apparent death, begins battling Ryoko by herself, determined to "put an end to everything". Not wishing to subject Raimu to any more trauma, Sachie stops her, and takes it upon herself to kill Ryoko.

In the aftermath of the battle, Raimu loses her will to continue fighting as a Lily, blaming herself for the death of her mother, Mirai and seemingly Seren, revealing to Sachie that she had hoped to die in the previous battle, so that her presence wouldn't cause any more tragedy. Sachie, and later Yuria, dispute her decision, reminding her of how those were sacrifices made so she could continue moving forward, and that the responsibility of carrying on Mirai's legacy and dreams falls on her shoulders.

Encouraged by their words, Raimu decides to continue fighting, and upon hearing her words, Seren shows herself, revealing to have survived her wounds. Praying to Mirai's spirit, Raimu vows to realize all the dreams that she had left them with.

The Fateful Gift[edit | edit source]

Main article: Assault Lily: The Fateful Gift

Though the Lilies were victorious in their battle against GEHENA, the Huge's assault on the Garden caused Ludvico to suffer severe casualties, with many of its Instructors losing their lives, as well as its facilities being heavily destroyed by the Huge. As such, the Garden completely ceased to function in any official capacity, with other nearby Gardens sending its own Legions to cover Ludvico's territory. As the incident caused a large-scale breakout of the Irregular Huge held as test subjects in GEHENA's Ludvico Labs, Legion Ironside leads the defensive efforts against the Huge infestation in the now inoperative Temple Legion's stead. As they do so, Kotohi watches over Raimu in secret, reporting her findings to GEHENA.

Upon receiving reports of a Gigant-class in the area, Ironside once again meets with the Funada Twins and Kazuha, who this time is followed by her Legion, Hervör. Agreeing to continue their advance together, they are surrounded by a large swarm of Huge while making their way towards the Gigant-class. When Hervör member Sasaki Ran is injured in the battle, Raimu offers to help her up, but as their hands touch, the pair experiences an immense surge of Magie, allowing Ran to quickly destroy all the Huge surrounding them.

Sachie learns that Ran had never been attacked by the Huge before despite attracting their presence, and points out that the same happens to Raimu, who explains to the others how it is a result of her nature as a born Boosted Lily. The Lilies conclude that Ran is probably the result of a similar experiment, and Sachie worries that Ran will be targeted by GEHENA the same way Raimu previously was.

Raimu and Ran's Magie burst causes a large number of Huge, including the Gigant-class, to suddenly converge on their location, and shortly after meeting Team Hitotsuyanagi once more, they encounter a second Gigant-class Huge. With Team Hitotsuyanagi setting off to neutralize the first Gigant, the multi-Legion team splits themselves into two teams in order to perform two Neunwelts as a preventive measure in the event the second Gigant possesses a Magie Reflector.

Before they can finish their Neunwelts, however, a third Gigant-class appears, and with no other choice, the Legions use the two Magispheres in order to neutralize both of them. But while both finishing shots hit each Huge directly, only one of them is destroyed, with the other instead absorbing the Magisphere and firing it directly against Ran and Raimu. The pair is shielded by Kotohi, who uses her own Magie Reflector to absorb the attack before falling unconscious.

Later, the Lilies conclude that in order to defeat the final Gigant-class, they must overwhelm it by producing a Magisphere supercharged with Magie, a feat which would require a number of Lilies beyond the standard nine to achieve. But with many of the Lilies still exhausted from the previous battle, Sachie proposes that only the still capable Lillies join them, with the remaining Lilies standing by as backup while they recover. The Lilies form a mixed team with sixteen members, with Charisma users Raimu, Hitotsuyanagi Riri and Shiba Tomoshibi tasked with stabilizing the supercharged Magisphere. After Team Hitotsuyanagi briefly battles a mysterious masked woman, Riri receives the final pass of the Neunwelt, and successfully destroys the Gigant-class Huge.

Lost Memories[edit | edit source]

Despite the strenuous efforts of Legion Ironside, as well as the aid of the other Gardens of Tokyo, Ludvico remains inoperative, as the Huge originating from Ludvico Labs continue to infest their territory. During one of their many battles against the Huge, Raimu and Sachie meet with Marei, who wishes to learn more about the masked woman, Gozen. After briefly discussing Team Hitotsuyanagi's previous encounter with her, the pair is told by Marei that the experiments conducted in Ludvico Labs are being continued elsewhere, and Sachie fears that GEHENA is still continuing their observations of Raimu.

Looking back on their previous battle, Raimu worries for Kotohi's safety, as the Lily had since completely abandoned Ludvico. While Marei is dismissive of Kotohi due to the revelation that she was working in service of GEHENA, Raimu recalls how she had risked her own life to protect her and Ran previously, wondering if she has a good heart deep down. Sachie wonders if, after being betrayed by GEHENA, Kotohi's heart is in its proper place.

Later, Raimu, Sachie and Marei are summoned by Ando Tazusa to the Metropolitan Government Office in Shinjuku, in order to aid Team Hitotsuyanagi in retrieving Yuyu, who had been coerced into joining Gozen. There, Raimu reunites with Ran, and they briefly encounter Kotohi, who shows a unique reverence to the pair, referring to them as "Princesses". Accompanied by a Gigant-class Huge controlled by Gozen, Kotohi encourages the Lilies to give up on Yuyu and leave in peace, but Team Hitotsuyanagi refuses, and they follow Kotohi inside the Government Office building. Wishing to learn more about their nature as "Princesses", Raimu and Ran also join them in going after Kotohi.

Meanwhile, the Lilies outside begin their Neunwelt Tactic against the Gigant-class Huge, but before they are able to finish it, the Huge splits itself into eight, Large-class sized copies of itself, forcing the Lilies to begin fighting each copy individually. After the Funada Twins succeed in destroying two of the copies, the six remaining Huge reform into the Gigant-class before splitting itself into eight Large-class once again. When Marei opens fire against the Huge group, she notices that seven of them moved to protect one particular copy.

Hervör's Serizawa Chikaru notices the Huge's similarity to the twin Gigant-class Huge she encountered during the Odaiba Counteroffensive, pointing out that in order to defeat it, both of its cores had to be destroyed simultaneously. Presuming this Gigant to operate in the same way, the Lilies formulate a plan to fight each copy individually while simultaneously making the Neunwelt's passes, using the Magisphere to destroy the main copy at the same time each Lily destroys the cores of the remaining seven. Rejoined by Raimu and Ran, their plan ultimately succeeds, and with the Gigant-class destroyed, the Lilies rush into the Government Office building to aid Team Hitotsuyanagi, while the Funada Twins return to Odaiba after learning that a Gigant-class appeared in its territory.

New Chapter[edit | edit source]

Following the revival of Ludvico, Legion Ironside was elected to integrate the multi-Garden survey team tasked with investigating the mysterious nests that appeared in the islands of Izu Oshima, Tokyo. Raimu, Sachie and Seren once again join the Funada Twins and Shiba Tomoshibi, as well as Ueda Imari and Kamigoori Marimo of Irma Girls' School for the Arts', and Kazuha and Matsumura Fuka of Herensuge Legions Hervör and Cuélebre in their mission.

After encountering a swarm of Huge immediately upon landing, the survey team finds Legion Sanngriðr locked in combat with the Flowers of the End. They join the Yurigaoka Legion in repelling them, but Raimu finds herself struggling to fight properly. Once successfully driving the Flowers away, the survey team is joined by Kaede Johan Nouvel and Futagawa Fumi, where they are told by Marimo of the 13 Sisters Project conducted by the Garden of Kuramayama, which sought the creation of a Legion of Princesses. Surmising that the Flowers are remnants of the Lilies who were unable to endure the Boosting experiments, the survey team decide to further investigate the matter, agreeing to rejoin Sanngriðr in fighting them should they reappear.

Raimu shares her sympathies with Sanngriðr after they identify the leader of the Flowers as their longtime friend Yamaguchi Chihiro, recalling her own encounter with Mirai after she had been resurrected. Following the disappearance of Hasebe Touka, the survey team agree to search for her while Sanngriðr pursue the Flowers, but while they're able to pinpoint her location with the aid of Nakahara Mary Tomoyo, they are forced to pivot objectives after the appearance of an Irregular Huge that could eventually lead to the formation of a Death Zone.

Arriving deep within the island's undercities, the survey team encounters a protective shield, and with no other choice, they initiate a Neunwelt Tactic to destroy it. While on her turn with the Magisphere, Sachie notices a difference in Raimu's Rare Skill, realizing that Raimu's Charisma had evolved into Laplace. Upon destroying the shield, the teams are faced with a Juggernaut, with Raimu and Tomoshibi utilizing their Rare Skills to purify the surrounding Negative Magie in the area while the survey team performs a second Neunwelt.

However, Raimu and the other Boosted Lilies present suddenly begin attacking the other members of the survey team, influenced by the Juggernaut's Negative Magie restraining device. The non Boosted members of the survey team continue to fight the Juggernaut, while making the Neunwelt's passes and keeping the Boosted Lilies at bay, eventually allowing for Kaede to take the finishing shot, which repels the Juggernaut and freeing the Boosted Lilies from the Negative Magie's influence.

New Chapter 2[edit | edit source]

Main article: Assault Lily: New Chapter 2

Following their battle with the Juggernaut, the survey team is informed by Legion Álfheimr of their encounter with the legendary Ultra-class Charybdis, who was accompanied by the humanoid Huge Rusalka. They learn that the Juggernaut had been developed by Ludvico Labs, and of its abilities to increase its powers every time it fights. As they speak, the four nests mature to completion, establishing a Death Zone in Oshima island. After developing a plan to permanently defeat it, the survey team continues to pursue the Juggernaut, with Raimu and Tomoshibi once again tasked with purifying the Negative Magie from the Death Zone.

The survey team struggles to take down the Juggernaut, and frustrated, Raimu attempts to step into battle, but she is stopped by Seren, who reminds her that she must conserve her power throughout their mission. As their battle continues, Sachie switches her Charlemagne for Raimu's Asterion, using it to unleash the technique Vanishing, sufficiently weakening the Juggernaut and allowing it to be defeated by the Funada Sisters.

Though Sanngriðr succeeds in destroying one of the nests, the Death Zone persists, as a result of Charybdis and Rusalka creating their own nest. Mashima Moyu deduces they should be able to dissipate the Death Zone by separating the pair of Huge from their nest. The Legions are suddenly ambushed by Rusalka, and the survey team joins Sanngriðr in fighting the humanoid Huge. However, both teams are depleted of their Magie, and are unable to create a powerful enough Magisphere, even with the aid of Raimu and Tomoshibi's Laplace.

The Legions are joined by the Flowers, having regained their consciousness. Raimu, Seren and Sachie briefly fight Rusalka while the remaining Lilies continue their Neunwelt, with the Flowers pouring all of their remaining Magie into completing the Magisphere, eventually allowing Chihiro, together with Sanngriðr, to successfully destroy Rusalka.

Combat Style[edit | edit source]

Sachie's combat style is said to be a direct offshoot of Mirai's,[2] who was a prodigy Duelist noted to be a rather relentless fighter. Her double wielding technique is described as "graceful", and is said to employ a perfectly balanced combination of offense and defense.[3] Her current fighting style was highly influenced by Yurigaoka's Shirai Yuyu and Banshoya Ena, whom Sachie shared the battlefield with during the Odaiba Counteroffensive.[4] Sachie displays a high degree of tactical literacy, and as such acts as both the captain and tactical coach of Legion Ironside,[5] being described as a "highly aggressive commander".[6]

Toyline[edit | edit source]

Sachie had two action dolls released as part of the Assault Lily toyline. The first, titled: "Assault Lily Side Story No.33: Fukuyama Jeanne Sachie", was released on July 29, 2017, and includes 4 swappable faceplates, as well as the Temple Legion jacket. She is accompanied by the CHARM Dainsleif Carbine.[7] An updated version of the doll, titled "Assault Lily Side Story: Fukuyama Jeanne Sachie 2.0", was released on September 29, 2022, featuring an updated design for Ludvico's uniform, four swappable faceplates, and Legion Ironside's Jacket. The doll is accompanied by Sachie's unique Fierbois and Charlemagne.[8]

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Sachie's confirmation name, "Jeanne", is inspired by the Catholic Saint and legendary female knight Jeanne d'Arc (normally known in English as Joan of Arc). And Likewise, Sachie's moniker of of "La Pucelle" is also inherited from Jeanne, translating to "The Maiden".
  • Sachie's existence as a character predates her presence in the Assault Lily universe. A character named "Fukuyama Sachie" appears in other plays by Ludvico Private Girls' Academy dating back to 2014, where she is also performed by Nakamura Yukari. However, in some of these plays, Sachie differs significantly from her Assault Lily incarnation in appearance and personality.
    • According to Obanazawa Kenei and Sakuragi Sayaka, since Sachie was an extremely unfortunate character in the 2014 play "Worst-Luck Girl", they wanted to see a different side of her in the Assault Lily plays and decided to make her a cool character instead[9].
  • Together with the Funada Twins, Sachie is one of the most prevalent characters in all of Assault Lily media, appearing in nine stage plays, the novel Assault Lily: Wunder and the game Assault Lily: Last Bullet.
    • Furthermore, Sachie's primary actress, Nakamura Yukari, is the second most recurring actress across all Assault Lily media, having portrayed Sachie in both the original and the revival versions of the Ludvico series of stage plays (minus Schwester's Oath, where she is portrayed by Ishii Haruna), the Bushiroad and New Chapter instalments of the ensemble plays, as well as voicing Sachie in Last Bullet. Nakamura also stars in the play Assault Lily: The Battle to Overcome, where she portrays Miyagawa Takane.
  • Sachie's favorite food is crepes.[10]
  • Sachie's main hobby is listening to music.[10]
  • Sachie likes musicals and karaoke, and she dislikes sewing and detailed work.[10]
