Ludvico Private Girls' Academy
Ludvico Private Girls' Academy (私立ルドビコ女学院), also known in early sources as Ludvico Girls' Academy (ルドビコ女学院), is a Garden in Shinjuku Gyo-en, Japan.

The real buildings today known as the NTT Docomo Yoyogi Building and the Shinjuku Gyo-en Greenhouse are both visible from Ludvico (it is unknown whether they are part of Ludvico.)
Overview[edit | edit source]
Ludvico is a missionary garden with a campus. The academy has "anecdotes related to time" in its past history, and perhaps due to this influence, it focuses on the education of rare skills such as Z, Phantasm and Hawk's Eye. The school's educational policy is "adaptating to dueling tactics," and students generally have a high level of tactical understanding.
The academy has had a long term rivalry with Irma Girls' High School for the Arts. In the past, Ludvico Private Girls' Academy was considered the strongest garden until the current 3rd generation of Lilies. This is implied to be because of the tendency for Lilies to engage in one-on-one "duels" with Huge.
When students enroll in Ludvico and become Lilies, they are given a baptismal name.
Legion System[edit | edit source]
Ludvico has a top legion system, and their legion is called the Temple Legion. This is the strongest legion on the campus church. The members of the legion are not fixed, and the best Lilies are chosen right before battle. Selected members are also given a special jacket, which is shown to be a great honor.
During White Resistance ~The Promise's Path~, Fukuyama Jeanne Sachie and other Lilies form their own legion, called Ironside, similar to other Gardens' instructor approved legion systems. However, which causes them to be persecuted and unable to be allowed to train. At the start of The Fateful Gift, it is implied that Ludvico has switched to an instructor approved legion system, due to Ironside still being active.

Ludvico was notorious for their secrecy and their lack of protection of their Lilies. Throughout Schwester's Prayer, the two instructors Izumi Rosa Rina and Kosaka Anastasia Ryoko often talked in private to GEHENA, who had plans for experimenting on their own students. This culminates in the events of Schwester's Secret, traumatizing the Lilies in their own Temple Legion. As a result, Rina left the academy.
By the beginning of White Resistance ~The Promise's Path~, distrust has grown across the student body due to the exposure of GEHENA's vile actions on Kishimoto Maria Mirai. Furthermore, the two new instructors that are instated, Makabe Melania Sayoko and Kaido Beatrice Chiharu, disregarded the safety of the Lilies more compared to the previous two teachers. At the middle of the stage play, Toride Suzanne Reika is murdered by the two nuns, which causes even more distress among the students. These events, along with constant secrecy, prompts Fukuyama Jeanne Sachie, a Lily famously known for her talent, to leave the Temple Legion and form her own legion, titled Legion Ironside, in order to rebel.
In the events of White Resistance ~The Blade of Truth~, multiple Gigant Huge attacks are orchestrated by GEHENA and Sayoko and Chiharu, which cause massive destruction to the garden. Furthermore, Sayoko and Chiharu are killed by Rina, who has returned to help the Lilies. Finally, Kishimoto Lucia Raimu lands a fatal blow on Ryoko, killing her. As a result, the academy is in shambles with most of its instructors deceased and a large part of the campus destroyed.
By the time of The Fateful Gift, part of Ludvico is still destroyed and the Huges there are still attacking. However, it is implied that the legion system in Ludvico has changed.
Schwester System[edit | edit source]
Similar to Yurigaoka, Ludvico also has a tradition where an older Lily will make a pledge of sisterhood with a younger Lily. To sign the contract, they exchange the medals they wear on their neck, and both Lilies put their medal necklace on each other. Once this is done, they both are considered a Schwester.
Any student in Ludvico can make this pledge, even with students in other legions. However, one cannot be Schwesters with a student at another school, or a Ludvico student who is in the same school year. Each student can have only one Schwester.

- Ludvico took its name from the real-world theater troupe Ludvico Private Girls' Academy which performs the Ludvico stage plays.
- Ludvico's location in Shinjuku Gyo-en may have been inspired by the fact that the original 2016 performance of Assault Lily: Schwester's Prayer was held at Sun Mall Studio, a theater which is itself located in Shinjuku Gyo-en[1].
