Tejima Komachi

Tejima Komachi (手島恋町) is a second year Lily who attends Irma Girls' High School for the Arts. She is a member of Legion Irminshines. The almighty and unwavering AZ of Irminshines, Komachi is known for being the "sensible one" and often provides the tsukkomi for all of Irma's otherwise quirky girls.

History

Komachi and Hibino Waku's families lived near one another, so Komachi and Waku grew up to be essentially sisters. They even joined Irma together to become Lilies. The two of them would go on to become half of the group known as Irma's Magnificent Four, the other two members being Nishikawa Miharu and Ichinomiya Michaela Himari. This kept on until their first year in high school, when all four of them would be involved in the Odaiba Counteroffensive.

Waku and Himari, who fought together in the 1st Division in that conflict, came away with vastly different opinions of how to fight than Miharu and Komachi did. They wanted to fight "bold and free," while Miharu and Komachi wanted to continue adhering to what Irma normally taught its Lilies, which was to play defensively with a focus on the BZ, and fire the finishing Neunwelt shot from a position of safety. This argument disrupted the Magnificent Four enough that they couldn't join Irminshines in the Makuhari Recapture campaign. Eventually, seeing Waku and Komachi particularly distressed over the argument, Himari decided to leave Irma, with Waku recommending she go to Ludvico Private Girls' Seminary.

This decision left many (particularly Waku) saddened, but ultimately it is what came to pass. Komachi herself was plagued with wondering if she couldn't have found a better way to handle the situation. Ultimately it led to Komachi and Waku solidifying their own bond by taking the Crownshine Oath together.

Combat Style

Komachi got her title (Matador) from her propensity of taking advantage of any openings that occur when Huge charge the AZ, ensuring they don't get behind her at her companions. During a Neunwelt tactic, she's famous as a "defensive AZ" who operates something like a tank, stopping the Huge cold and forcing room to open up for passes to be made. She particularly specializes in the "pressback" maneuver where she'll drop back even to the BZ in order to support and protect allies by applying pressure to Huge from behind.

One of her most distinctive moves is to land finish shots from a post-up position, i.e., with her back to the Huge. When she needs to land a finish shot from this position, she's often quite acrobatic in her maneuvering.

Relationships

From Irma Girls' High School for the Arts:

• Hibino Waku: Childhood friends since before entering Irma; their families lived close by, so Waku and Komachi grew up as though actual sisters. They're close enough that they can make Neunwelt passes to one another without even looking to confirm their position; Waku calls her "Koma-chan." They've taken the Crownshine Oath together. Previously one of the "Magnificent Four" of Irma with.
• Nishikawa Miharu: Previously one of the "Magnificent Four" of Irma with.
• Tsuzuki Hisui: Gets jealous of how close Komachi can be at times with Kamigoori Marimo.
• Shinoda Mioko: On guard against her, doesn't allow Waku to enter her room alone

From Ludvico Private Girls' Seminary:

• Ichinomiya Michaela Himari: Previously one of the "Magnificent Four" of Irma with. Friends. Before Himari transferred, Komachi was the one who most understood Himari.

From Yurigaoka Girls' Academy:

• Amano Soraha: Friends. Whenever Soraha visits Tokyo, Komachi makes time to meet up with her.
• Hasebe Touka: Friends.

From St. Mercurius International School:

Trivia

• Hobbies/Interests: Reading (she particularly likes historical novels)
• Komachi can play the guitar.
• She's particularly good at cleaning, but only because she got good at it cleaning Waku's room for her.
