Obanazawa Kenei
Obanazawa Kenei (尾花沢軒栄) is the original creator of Assault Lily, as well as the president of the creative group Acus.
He was born in 1976 in Mito, Ibaraki Prefecture. Before founding Acus to focus on his creative works, he was an amateur modeler who displayed and sold model kits at the Wonder Festival figurine convention[1], as part of the group "Moumantai."
He was also employed part-time at Azone International circa 2005, but later left the company for a time until partnering with them to create the Assault Lily dolls[2].
Obanazawa describes his interests as yuri, architecture, games, aquariums, succulents & plants with root tubers, soccer, figurines and dolls[3].
Assault Lily[edit | edit source]
Obanazawa began planning Assault Lily, under the name of Yurigaoka Private Girls' Academy, in 2005 as a backstory for his original model kits[4].
He partnered with Azone International to turn Assault Lily into a commercial work in 2011.
Although Obanazawa is typically credited in Assault Lily works as simply the "original creator", he remains closely involved with them, such as when he took part in the scenario meetings for Assault Lily: Bouquet[4]. He will occasionally appear in person at events, such as those related to the stage plays.
Other Works by Obanazawa[edit | edit source]
Obanazawa designed the setting for one of Azone's other doll lines, Mimy Garden Naturalis Historia.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- It is widely thought that Obanazawa runs the official Assault Lily twitter account, which roleplays as Futagawa Fumi. This is based on circumstantial evidence such as Fumi's encyclopedic knowledge of Assault Lily, her habit of livetweeting real-world soccer games, and her responsiveness to people's concerns about official Acus products.
