Installation

Installation (インストール) is a secret technology developed by GEHENA. It has the effect of transferring components of one person's psyche (such as their personality, memories, and/or Rare Skill) into a different body. Neither of the bodies involved in the process need to be alive, though it's possible that when the host body is dead, GEHENA resurrects it via boosting prior to the install procedure. It's even possible for the host body to be that of a Huge.

When the host body is alive, its original owner's mind seems to be rendered helpless by the procedure, but remains aware of their surroundings. The installed mind can be forced out of its host body by inflicting a lethal injury upon it; this returns control of the body to its original owner for however long they survive.

In some cases, installation is so successful that the installed mind doesn't even realize that they aren't in their original body, while on less successful occasions it can shatter the installed mind and turn them into a remnant.

Installation is a relatively recent invention, and was still considered imperfect at the time of the Small-type Engagement Test at Yurigaoka (no later than 2047.)

Known Installations

Spoilers for all Assault Lily media

• Professor Amamiya, the father of Amamiya Sophia Seren, installed his own mind in the body of Kosaka Anastasia Ryoko.
• After her original body was killed by the Huge, Tsukamoto Hekiru was installed in the body of a Boosted Lily from the 13 Sisters Project. The procedure was at first successful, but Hekiru later lost her sanity due to Inaba Mayumi's experimentation upon her.
• Inaba Mayumi has installed herself into several different bodies, including that of a Gigant-type Huge and Nakazawa Kumi.
  • Through unknown means, Mayumi's mind seems to have the ability to remain alive and find another body to inhabit even after her host bodies are killed. When escaping a body, Mayumi is visually depicted as an orb of light.
• Aizawa Kazuha's body is that of an unknown Madec who died at the Tragedy of Hinode. The mind, memories and Rare Skill of another dead Lily (the original Aizawa Kazuha) were installed into this body, and she remained unaware of this for some time, aside from occasionally dreaming of memories that weren't her own.
• Nishimura Noemi has installed herself into different human bodies (possibly clones, as they were identical to her original body) and that of a Gigant-type Huge.
  • While she returned from being killed as a human several times, Noemi eventually died in the body of the Gigant-type.
• Ishizuka Fujino (at the time named Touno Shizuka) was installed into a different body, upon her own request, after her original body was fatally injured.
