Assault Lily Wiki:Rules

From Assault Lily Wiki

Content

  • Do not create pages about content unrelated to Assault Lily, and do not add such content to pages in excess.
    • This includes content which is technically related to Assault Lily through a collaboration, but does not directly tie into that collaboration.
      • For example, you can create pages on Rokkaku Shiki and Takamachi Nanoha. You cannot create pages on Frame Arms Girl or Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, or other characters that appeared in those franchises but not in the Assault Lily collabs. You cannot fill collab-related pages with huge amounts of information on the other franchises. Stick to that which is relevant to Assault Lily.
        • In some cases, this ban may apply to characters or topics which had very minor roles in the collabs, such as Shidou Itsuka's brief speaking appearance in the Date-a-Live event in Assault Lily: Last Bullet. Use common sense.
        • You can link to pages elsewhere on the web (ideally Wikipedia) for the benefit of readers who want more information.
  • Do not add NSFW content to pages, regardless of whether it is textual or visual. The admins are the arbiters of what counts as NSFW. If unsure, you may ask on talk pages or the community portal.
    • In general, official material which is borderline (e.g. the Last Bullet ASMR memoria) will not be considered NSFW, while unofficial and Original Lily-related content will be held to a stricter standard.
  • To the extent possible while respecting other rightsholders, the textual content of this wiki is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International license. Upon creating or editing a page, you implicitly agree to make your contributions available to the Assault Lily Wiki under this license.
    • Some pages are also based on imported data that is under the CC-BY-NC-SA 4.0 International license; see the general disclaimer.

Languages

  • At present, this wiki is intended to host only English-language articles. Brief passages in other languages (such as Japanese) are allowed in articles if appropriate in context, but the majority of each article should be in English.
    • This policy exists only to keep things tidy, and may change in the future. If you'd like to create pages on this wiki in a different language, contact the admins on the community portal.

Translations

  • You may post translations of any source created or owned by, or in cooperation with, the original Assault Lily IP owners (Azone, Acus, Bushiroad, Pokelabo, and Studio SHAFT.)
    • You must also have the translator's permission, and credit them if they request to be credited.
      • The following translators active on the Assault Lily Fan Discord have given permission to use any of their translations on this wiki:
        • FliryVorru
        • Hắc
        • Letheka
        • rluka
        • Ulsairi
  • Translations should be relevant in the context of the article.
  • Do not post translations of text which was not written by (or in cooperation with) the original Assault Lily IP owners, unless you have the creator or rightsholder's explicit permission.
    • You must also have the translator's permission, and credit them if they request to be credited.
  • All translated text remains the property of its copyright holders, and the Assault Lily Wiki makes no claim to it. We believe that our use of it is defensible under US fair use doctrine for nonprofit educational purposes.

Image & Media Uploads

  • You may upload images created or owned by the original Assault Lily IP owners (Azone, Acus, Bushiroad, Pokelabo, and Studio SHAFT) if they serve to illustrate something in an article that is not currently illustrated.
    • "Something in an article that is not currently illustrated" includes differences in character and CHARM designs between Assault Lily media. It does not, by default, include alternate costumes within the same medium, 'custom' CHARMs that visually differ only in their paint jobs, or similar trivia. Ask on the relevant talk page if you're not sure.
    • In general, uploading Last Bullet memoria images for use on character and story event pages is okay, while Last Bullet costumes (aside from each character's 'default' one to illustrate their in-game design) and CHARMs (unless no other image exists of the CHARM) are not allowed. This is arbitrary, but a line has to be drawn somewhere.
  • Media other than images should generally not be hosted directly on this wiki, but you may ask for exceptions from the admins on the relevant talk pages.
  • This is not a booru; do not upload images or media just because they exist. All uploads must be used in articles, although it's fine if they're only in the gallery.
  • Do not upload images or media not created or owned by the original Assault Lily IP owners, unless you have the creator or rightsholder's explicit permission.
  • Do not upload images or media unrelated to Assault Lily.
  • All uploads remain the property of their copyright holders, and the Assault Lily Wiki makes no claim to them. We believe that our use of them is defensible under US fair use doctrine for nonprofit educational purposes.

Links

  • You may freely link to any website created or owned by, or in cooperation with, the original Assault Lily IP owners (Azone, Acus, Bushiroad, Pokelabo, and Studio SHAFT.) Other links are allowed too, but will receive more scrutiny.
  • Links should be relevant in the context of the article.
  • Do not link to offsite content which infringes the copyrights of the IP owners, including unofficial anime or manga uploads, or unofficial mirrors of Last Bullet in-game content.
    • You can mention that it exists, just don't link to or give specific instructions to find it.
    • As an exception, you may link to YouTube videos even if they might infringe copyright. If they're not legal, that's YouTube's problem.
  • Do not link to content which is illegal in the USA for any other reason.

Original Content

  • Original Lily content is allowed on this wiki if properly contained in the "Original" namespace, as well as original legions, Gardens, CHARMs, and so forth.
  • You do not have to be the creator of the content, but all of the above content policies still apply.
  • Do not mention or link to original content from pages about canon content. For example, if your original Lily is Hitotsuyanagi Riri's sister, you cannot put anything about her on the Hitotsuyanagi Riri page. This rule is one-directional: linking to canon content from original content is fine.
  • Pages about original content aren't allowed to be in categories that don't specify "Original", nor are pages about canon content allowed to be in categories that do specify "Original".
  • Do not create pages about original content unrelated to Assault Lily.

Spelling & Romanization

The goal of this section of the rules is to avoid edit warring and preserve consistency between pages on this wiki. Discussion and debate about how we ought to render names and terms is welcome, but in the meantime let's try to keep things uniform. If you want to argue for a different spelling/translation of any name or term, please bring it up on the relevant talk page (or the community portal if it doesn't have its own page.)

These rules do not apply to Original Lily content, in which everything can be spelled or romanized in any way the page creator prefers (however, if you're making pages for someone else's creations, try to match any spellings that they prefer or have used before.)

Character Names

  • If the character is already mentioned on this wiki, use whichever spelling is already in use.
  • If the character has a romanized name shown in Assault Lily: Last Bullet, use that (presumably the name shown in ALLB will be updated if the creators decide to revise its spelling.)
    • Do not change the name order from the official romanization.
  • Otherwise, use the most recent official romanization from any other source that provides one. Romanizations printed in Japanese material, including merchandise, take priority over those in localized or fan-translated material.
  • If no official romanization of a character name exists, try to guess what a hypothetical one would be, prioritizing consistency with other official romanizations.
    • This means unchanged name order, plus standard romanization and no long vowels for purely Japanese names. For example, 近藤貞花 should be "Kondo Misaka", and オイフェミア・フェーン might be "Euphemia Fehn".

Names of Real People

For people with Japanese names, follow the same conventions used in Assault Lily works for character names. This means unchanged name order, plus standard romanization and no long vowels.

For all other people, just use their names as conventionally written or romanized.

Everything Else

This includes legion, Garden, CHARM, and Rare Skill names.

  • If it's on the standard translation list, use what's there.
  • If the term is already mentioned on this wiki, use whichever spelling is already in use.
  • If something is a mythological reference, use the spelling for it found on the English Wikipedia in the article title, or (if it has no English Wikipedia article) what appears to be the most widely used spelling in English sources. Do this even if it is at odds with an official romanization (e.g. 'Earlveheim'.)
  • Otherwise, you are free to use your preferred romanization or translation. Try to stay accurate to the original Japanese, within reason.

Technical Stuff

Page Titles

These rules do not apply to Original Lily content, which can have any page title the page creator prefers.

  • Pages about characters should be titled with our standard spelling of the name (as specified in 'Character Names' above.) Do not use or include nicknames.
    • Characters whose true identities are major spoilers are an exception. Their pages can be titled with their most common name or nickname.
    • Ludvico baptismal names are not nicknames, and should be included unless the character no longer uses the name themselves.
  • Pages about legions should be titled "Legion (legion name)". Do not use or include nicknames.
    • This doesn't apply to irregular legion-like groups, such as the Black Cruciform Madec Corps or the Funada Reserve Team.
  • Pages about Gardens should be titled with the full name of the Garden. Do not title them just 'Yurigaoka', 'Odaiba', etc.
  • Pages about CHARMs should be titled with the full designation of the CHARM, such as "AC-13 Gungnir". When a CHARM's model number is unknown or it doesn't have one, it can be omitted.
  • Redirects to existing pages from alternate names/spellings can be created freely, though they may be deleted if an admin thinks they are confusing or misleading.

Templates

This wiki has several templates you can and should use. Most templates are documented on the template page themselves. Generally, they can be used for either canon or original content.
