Hijiribashi University Girls' High School
Hijiribashi University Girls' High School (聖橋大学附属女子高等学校) is a Garden in Tokyo, Japan, specifically the Ochanomizu neighborhood. Despite possessing the best facilities and largest budget of any Garden in the capital, Hijiribashi is dedicated to educating "the intellects who will lead Lilies," and as such it rarely if ever participates in combat. For this reason, it is sometimes referred to as the "Toothless Garden."
The Tokyo region as a whole is divided into three defense zones, each protected by one of the Three Houses of Tokyo (Irma, Ludvico, and Odaiba). Hijiribashi has no defense zone assigned to it, and so little pressure to fight. Instead, the Lilies of Hijiribashi dedicate themselves to academics and tactical research, and in that respect, are top class. Moreover, because of it is famous for its curriculum that emphasizes cooperation with the National Defense Force (JSDF), some Lilies choose to study at Hijiribashi through elementary and middle school before transferring to other Gardens if they intend to fight on the front lines as a Lily (an example being Ishikawa Aoi).
Most Lilies at Hijiribashi have little interest in fighting. The sole legion at the Garden (and an unofficial one at that[1]) is Legion Sekkadan, formed by Kuki Nuyuna when she fervently suggested that a few of them fight as Lilies should. Despite her pleas, Sekkadan is treated like "an outcast from the outcasts" at Hijiribashi.
Garden Trivia
[edit | edit source]- Hijiribashi's lore, like Yurigaoka and Kamba, is influenced by Norse mythology.
- Officially, Hijiribashi is neutral towards GEHENA, but according to Futagawa Fumi, this is not as firm as it would seem. Dark rumors surround the school which imply a deeper connection, but it's also true that not many Boosted Lilies attend there.[2]
- Outside of Legion Sekkadan, not many Hijiribashi Lilies have awakened to their rare skill.[3]
- Many Hijiribashi students are uninterested in being Lilies, so there are few people who are interested in taking up the role of head disciplinarian. Nakajima Hiiro, as a first year student, has taken up the role, but only because no one else would do it.[4]
