Herensuge Girls' Academy
Herensuge Girls' Academy (エレンスゲ女学園) is a Garden in Roppongi, Tokyo, Japan.
Location & History[edit | edit source]
Herensuge appears to be located in the real skyscraper that is today known as Roppongi Hills Mori Tower.
Herensuge is operated by the CHARM manufacturer Auñamendi Systems. The Garden existed prior to being taken over by Auñamendi, and was originally themed around Nordic rather than Basque mythology; some of its institutions, such as Legion Hervör and the Shieldmaiden System, date back to this period and still have the Nordic theme[1].
Ranking & Legion Systems[edit | edit source]
Herensuge has a system of ranking its Lilies based on combat performance. The top seven Lilies by rank are appointed as the captains of Herensuge's top seven legions[2]:
- Legion Hervör (Current captain: Aizawa Kazuha)
- Legion Cuélebre (Current captain: Matsumura Fuka)
- Legion Basa-Andre (Current captain: Tsuboi Nanaho)
- Legion Olentzaro (Current captain: Shibata Rindo)
- Legion Galtzagorri (Current captain: Tazawa Tsubaki)
- Legion Tartalo (Current captain: Oba Izumi)
- Legion Txarrantxa (Current captain: Moriyama Hirari)
Starting with the captain of Hervör, the captains are then allowed to personally select any Lilies who ranked #8 or below for their legions.
Shieldmaiden System[edit | edit source]
Herensuge has a tradition similar to Yurigaoka's Schutzengels and Ludvico's Schwesters in which an older Lily makes a pledge of sisterhood with a younger one. The two are then known as "Shieldmaiden sisters"[3].
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- Herensuge is a (sometimes seven-headed) dragon in Basque mythology.
- It is reasonable to assume that the Garden was not named this before it had a Basque mythological theme, but its original name is unknown[1].
- Outside the real-world Mori Tower is a sculpture of a spider known as Maman. Another copy of this sculpture exists in Bilbao, the largest city in the Basque Country in Spain.

Yes, Herensuge, which is based on Basque myth. But the top legion Hervarar, as well as the Shieldmaiden System, exist before Auñamendi System came into the management, when the Garden still adopts Nordic myth theme." Translation by rluka.

"Q: about the "Shieldmaiden" sisterhood system of Herensuge A: The figure of the Shieldmaiden "Skjaldmær" is the representation of Herensuge's ideals about a Lily. And thus, the "Shieldmaiden system", bearing the name of the eponymous figure, is Herensuge's own version of sisterhood. A pair of senior and junior Lilies oathed together are thus called "Shieldmaiden sisters"." Translation by Hắc.
