Banshoya Ena

Banshoya Ena (番匠谷依奈) is a second year Lily who attends Yurigaoka. She is a member of Legion Álfheimr (2nd generation), and was also in Legion Álfheimr (1st generation). She's best known as being the first Lily ever to awaken the rare skill Circlet Bless.

History

Ena has attended Yurigaoka since kindergarten. From an early age, she's been in competition with Takegoshi Chihana, and this rivalry has shaped a great deal of her life growing up. Chihana has a defensive command style, whereas Ena has an offensive one, and so their views often directly clash. However, when Chihana formed the Takegoshi Reserve Team in middle school, Ena went out of her way to join it, saying, "What better way to show I'm superior than to fight up close?"

Likely Amano Soraha joining the team ahead of Ena and showing a great deal of compatibility with Chihana also played a part. As was customary for girls entering Yurigaoka in middle school, Ena was assigned to be Soraha's caretaker, and it wasn't long before the two of them became inseparable.

Álfheimr's Beginnings

Soon after this, the Takegoshi Reserve Team traveled to Koshu to hold a Neunwelt Tactic training camp. None of them expected to be pulled into what would come to be known as the Koshu Withdrawal. Relying on then-first year Lily Hayashi Kaoru's level of trust earned from Garden faculty, the Reserve Team was permitted to operate as a temporary legion, despite most of its members being middle school Lilies still. The reserve team aided in the evacuation of civilians, with Ena serving as commander in the TZ foward position. Despite this, and the team performing brilliantly, they still lost one of their members, Kawazoe Misuzu.

The next year, Chihana became Sigrun, and the Garden permitted her to make the Takegoshi Reserve Team into an official legion, which would be known as Legion Álfheimr. It's said she personally invited Ena to join, saying, "To form the strongest legion and liberate Kanto, I can only trust a Lily more capable than myself as commander of Álfheimr. Which is to say, there's no one more qualified than you, Ena. I'd like to keep fighting alongside you, if you'll let me." Ena accepted, and led the legion to victory in over thirty major battles, cementing Álfheimr as a "legendary" legion.

Álfheimr's End

It was after the First Defense of Oiso that, despite its accumulated victories, Legion Álfheimr would disband. During battle, Chihana made a call that ultimately got civilians killed, a high sin for a Lily. There was also the case of Hasebe Touka using the then-experimental 4th generation CHARM Einherjar without permission, for which Chihana was also blamed. When the Yurigaoka Student Council ruled that Chihana could no longer captain a legion and asked the other members to pick a new one, they decided to disband instead.

Ena was at a loss after this. With Soraha also considering retiring from being a Lily, Ena fell into a kind of slump. She joined no other legions, and spent her days "freelance" but taking on no active duty. What pulled her out of it was Soraha's sudden reversal from wanting to retire. She instead had met Egawa Kusumi, and through that, joined the Ichi Reserve Team, led and commanded by Tanaka Ichi.

Rise of the Second Álfheimr

Naturally, Ena took on the commander role for the Ichi Reserve Team, but Ichi herself was already serving in that position. Ena was undoubtedly more accomplished and talented at it, however, which led to Ichi giving way. Though their relationship was prickly at first, over time, as they trained together, a bond of respect was formed. It was also during this time that Okada Kisara would ask Ena to become her Schild. Ena eventually pulled out of her slump due to these positives, and the Ichi Reserve Team would go on to become Legion Álfheimr (2nd generation), with Soraha as captain.
