Egawa Kusumi
Egawa Kusumi (江川樟美) is a first year Lily who attends Yurigaoka Girls' Academy. She is a member of Legion Álfheimr (2nd generation). A career Lily who has studied at Yurigaoka since kindergarten, Kusumi is well-known for awakening to Phantasm faster than any other Lily in the world, doing so at the end of her first year in middle school.

Personality
[edit | edit source]Kusumi has a timid, meek, and shy personality. It's said that speaking to her in a loud voice, even without malice, will scare her. However, among friends, when comfortable, she's known to make quips (tsukkomi). At times, she's shown to be very determined, particularly when it comes to her oneesama, Soraha.
History
[edit | edit source]Kusumi was born in Hokkaido, but she traveled all the way to Yurigaoka to become a Lily when she was in kindergarten. Along with Tanaka Ichi, Takasuga Tsukushi, Kanabako Misora, and Watanabe Akane, the five of them formed a group called "the Quintet," merely signifying that they were close friends from a young age. All five of them were thought to be likely to become star Lilies when they were older, and Kusumi did not disappoint, as she awoke to her rare skill, Phantasm, at the end of her first year of middle school. The youngest a Lily has ever awoken to it.
However, middle school was not a good time for Kusumi. Due to a so far unspecified incident, her relationship with her best friend Ichi soured sharply, and they stopped being friends. With Ichi a much more sociable and popular girl, not to mention a member of the student council, even if it wasn't anyone's intention, Kusumi became isolated during this time. Her mental condition deteriorated to the point she had to move into the special dorm, and this would continue until nearly high school.
It was Amano Soraha who saved her from her loneliness and depression. Soraha's legion had just broken up, and she was considering quitting being a Lily. When Soraha met Kusumi, however, she took a natural liking to her even despite her depression. The two of them grew close, and it was through this relationship that Kusumi became better. Later, Kusumi made up with Ichi, and she along with Soraha joined the Ichi Reserve Team, which would later go on to become the second generation of Legion Alfheimr.

- Maki Wakana: Soraha's Schutzengel; Wakana and Kusumi get along very well

- Watanabe Akane: Part of the Quintet; calls her "Aka-nee" in adoration
- Rokkaku Shiori: Kusumi's best friend outside of Alfheimr; they became friends over a picture Kusumi drew, and Shiori supported her during her depression period. The two often talk excitedly about animals
- Kurokawa Nady Hanna: Friends; they're close enough that Hanna is one of the few people outside of Alfheimr that can get Kusumi to quip (tsukkomi) at her
- Kitagawa Inori: Friends; Inori treated her just like a sister while at the special dorm
- Mozuna Noa: Kusumi admires Noa and has based her fighting style off of how Noa fights
- Kenmochi Noriko: She was kind to Kusumi while she was lonely in middle school, and even now they stay in touch
From Sagami Girls' Academy:
- Ishikawa Aoi: Best friend outside of Yurigaoka; they met at a restaurant by chance and grew acquainted; as Kusumi finds it hard to make friends, she keeps in touch through texting

- Likes: Cats (she's well-known for being a cat lover), horses (all horses, including competitive ones used in ban'ei racing), peaceful manga, saunas
- Favorite horses: Green Grass, Tosho Boy, Ten Point, Keystone
- Favorite color: White (she likes horses with white manes best)
- Favorite snack: Duck-shaped shortbread biscuits (sable du canard)
- Dislikes: Having to talk, loud noises, hot weather, cold weather
- Kusumi's family run a ranch
