Legion Reginleif

Legion Reginleif (レギンレイヴ) is a legion at Yurigaoka Girls' Academy. They serve the role of an expeditionary legion, alongside other legions like Legion Álfheimr (2nd generation) and Legion Sanngriðr. Their unique aspect is that they boast the largest roster of any legion at Yurigaoka at 18 members strong, allowing them to field two legions worth of teams at any time.

Overview

Legion Reginleif was formed with members taken from those Lilies who attended a regular Wednesday after school tea party, which was primarily hosted by Kudo Sakua (the captain) and Rokkaku Shiori (vice captain). The legion's common name, Odinstide Tea Party (OTP), reflects this origin, while also working in a reference to Shiori's name.

OTP is not only famous for having an impressive amount of members, but by having an extremely balanced roster. Because of this balance, they can select members freely for their formations and send Lilies most suited to the task at hand, meaning very few of their members are "permanent" headliners.

The members of OTP all strongly desire to take back Koshu and Shizuoka, so they proactively go on expeditions. As far as expeditions go, OTP keeps a stock of spare CHARMs stored on board their gunship, and they have also been provided with special ground vehicles a bit like armored trucks capable of high speeds.

Trivia

• Shiori is very particular about interior design, and has insisted against having a kotatsu in the legion room; they therefore do not have one.
• Because of their membership, OTP has a very large legion room, though it's also quite plain. Instead, they have a CHARM workshop attached to their legion room.
• In summer, the OTP legion room is at a constant 16°C (60°F), making it the coldest room at Yurigaoka.
• When deploying on expedition, the position of commander is taken up by one of OTP's three Regista-awakened, depending on who is being deployed (Sakua, Botan, or Diana).

Translation Note

Regarding Odinstide Tea Party (OTP): The kanji for Shiori's name is 汐里. If you take the first of these kanji (汐) and split it into radicals (the smaller components that make up a larger kanji), you get 水 and 夕, or "water" and "evening." The word Wednesday in English (and in Japanese) both reference Water, and in English's case, further references Odin from Norse mythology. Because keeping this exact nuance wasn't possible, the translator (Kohana) went with instead incorporating the idea into the Odinstide Tea Party abbreviation (OTP or, One True Pairing), given Hijiri's adoration for her Schild, Shiori.
