Transcendent Arsenal Hearts

Transcendent Arsenal Hearts (超越のアーセナルハート) was a mini story event in Assault Lily: Last Bullet, starring Mashima Moyu, with Miliam Hildegard von Guropius in a supporting role. It ran from May 31, 2021 to June 16, 2021.

Premise

In preparation for an imminent battle, Moyu begins development on a brand new CHARM model, with Miliam’s help.

However, the complexity of their research, combined with a lack of funding, led their discoveries towards unsteady waters.

Amidst this situation, a Huge emerges, possessing great regenerative capabilities and the means to interrupt the Neunwelt Tactic Ascertaining that the new CHARM model she’s developed is suitable to neutralize it, Moyu, together with Miliam, enlist the help of their comrades in order to bring the powerful "Magie Divider" CHARM to its completion

Summary

At Odaiba Girls’ School, Moyu and Miliam hold a presentation with various CHARM manufacturers, courting possible investors to fund the development of the Magie Divider, an experimental, high energy output CHARM created in the wake of the emergence of an Irregular Huge with high regenerative capabilities in Odaiba. Their pitch is denied, however, on the basis that such a weapon could be of great risk to manufacture and wield. Miliam is left particularly upset that hers and Moyu’s research was so strongly rejected in spite of its possibilities.

After returning to Yurigaoka, Miliam invites Moyu for an outing in the city, seeing as her Schutzengel had been overworking herself while surviving off of instant foods. After enjoying a date at a donuts shop, the pair responds to a Huge outbreak in Odaiba, where they encounter the Irregular Huge that had been reported. They are joined by one of Odaiba’s Legions, but after the Huge shows itself capable of blockading the Neunwelt Tactic, they are forced to retreat.

Frustrated by their failure to neutralize the Huge, as well as wishing to prove the potential of Moyu’s research, Miliam approaches Team Hitotsuyanagi, enlisting their help in order to continue work on the Magie Divider. Kaede reaches out to her Father’s company, Grand Guignol, for parts, while one of the manufacturers present at Moyu’s failed pitch meeting, Auñamendi Systems, approaches Miliam, offering the equipment needed for building the CHARM.

With a working prototype in hands, Miliam and Moyu return to Odaiba, devising a plan together with the local Lilies to neutralize the Irregular Huge. Despite Moyu’s pleas, Miliam insists on being the one to take the Magie Divider into combat, as Moyu had continuously overworked herself in order to move along with her research. Though initially showing positive results against the Irregular, the CHARM begins to malfunction, with its Magie output becoming increasingly more intense. However, Miliam is intent on proving the worth of Moyu’s research, as such, she pushes herself to a breaking point, and falls into a coma before she is able to strike the Huge down.

Saddled with guilt, Moyu immerses herself in her work once again, determined to figure out what went wrong and to do right by Miliam. Yuyu reprimands her for continuously wearing herself thin by trying to bear all responsibility by herself, urging her to take after her Schild’s example. After some deliberation, Moyu approaches Team Hitotsuyanagi for help in finishing the next iteration of the Magie Divider and to successfully kill the Irregular Huge. They agree, and Moyu is able to rebuild the Magie Divider, this time with a fail-safe to alert the user before the Magie output reaches a critical level.

Returning once again to Odaiba, Moyu tasks herself with clearing the battlefield and luring the Irregular away, while Team Hitotsuyanagi conducts the Neunwelt Tactic. While their plan is initially carried out successfully, Yuyu and Mai are summoned to assist with neutralizing a Gigant-class Huge that appeared someplace else in Odaiba. Now with three members absent, Moyu changes her plans, ordering Team Hitotsuyanagi to deal with the surrounding Huge while she sets out to destroy the Irregular, removing the Magie Divider’s fail-safe in order to strike it with a full-power attack.

Before she can do so, however, Miliam appears, and once again pleads with Moyu to let her wield the Magie Divider. Moyu realizes that the strain from the increased output is greatly reduced when both of them hold the CHARM together. As such, the pair are able to successfully strike the Huge with a powerful attack, destroying it permanently before the Magie Divider falls apart from continuous wear.

After the Gigant-class is defeated with the help of Legion Hronesnæsse, Moyu and Miliam meet with the Odaiba Lilies they’ve previously fought with, who praise them for the level of trust that their bond as Schutzengels is built upon. Before returning to Yurigaoka, the pair share a moment, where Moyu reveals that she was inspired by Miliam’s willingness to ask for her teammates’ help, deciding to do the same after hearing Yuyu’s words. The pair reaffirms their desire to be by each other’s side before setting off as the sun sets.

Meanwhile, two figures discuss the events that transpired in Odaiba, noticing that the artificial Caves they’ve created have vastly improved. They show a particular interest in Moyu’s Magie Divider, noting that they can use what they’ve learned for their upcoming Boosted CHARM experiment.
