Nishikawa Miharu

Nishikawa Miharu (西川御巴留) is a second year Lily who attends Irma Girls' High School for the Arts. She is a member of Legion Irminshines and serves as both its captain and commander. Miharu is well-known for being a tactical and strategic genius, conducting the Neunwelt of her legion like one would an orchestra.

Personality

Miharu is an unusually strict individual who is staunchly dedicated to training and improving herself. Though she is not unkind and works to understand her fellow Lilies, she can be thought of as a driven individual who is goal-oriented. She expects the best of others, and will help them to achieve that rather than simply demanding it, but she can be somewhat inflexible in her views because of this expectation.

History

Like many Lilies, Miharu joined Irma at a young age. She made friends with Tejima Komachi, Hibino Waku, and Ichinomiya Michaela Himari quickly after joining Irma, and developed a fierce rivalry with Himari off the bat. Because the two were similar in many ways, particularly in their desire to lead other Lilies, the question always hung over them as to which would be the eventual commander of Irminshines—but there were few who doubted they would indeed be in Irma's top legion.

The four of them, each superb Lilies in their own right and being close enough to wish to fight together when they were older, would become known as the "Magnificent Four" of Irma even early on.

During Miharu's first year of middle school, Hidai Miyazu would join Irma after being rescued by the Irmin-Lillian Lab. Miyazu has a coarse personality even at the best of times, but at that point she was highly distrustful of other people. Heedless of Miyazu's attempts to ignore her, Miharu wordlessly joined her for practice such that Miyazu would never have to ask anyone for help. Over time, Miyazu opened up to Miharu, and even got help from her in dealing with the painful side effects of having been boosted.

In the first year of high school, Miharu, as well as the rest of the Magnificent Four, would become involved in the Odaiba Counteroffensive. Miharu fought in the 3rd division under Banshoya Ena's command. Ena gave Miharu advice that helped her talents to blossom even more. However, in the aftermath of the Counteroffensive, Himari and Waku would return with ideas on changing how they fought. Miharu (as well as Komachi) however wanted to stay with Irma's traditional methods of fighting. A legion can have more than one commander, but only so long as they agree on what direction to take their legion. Because of this split in their ideology, Irminshines could only have one captain—either Himari, or Miharu.

In the end, Himari, acting in the way she thought would be beneficial for them all, chose to leave Irma. Even now, Miharu wants to believe that Himari may come back.

• Tejima Komachi: Friend, formerly of the Magnificent Four
• Hibino Waku: Friend, formerly of the Magnificent Four
• Hidai Miyazu: Friend. Miyazu refers to her without honorifics, and speaks to her in an unusually friendly tone (for Miyazu). Miyazu and Miharu are often together, and take meals together as well.

From Ludvico Private Girls' Seminary:

• Ichinomiya Michaela Himari: A great rival. Because the way they fight, their tactics, and even their desire to command were all so similar, many in Irma (themselves included) wondered which of them would eventually lead Irminshines, and whether they could fight alongside one another.
• Saeki Julia Karen: After (and also during) the events of TBW, Miharu taught her how to utilize Regista to its fullest, and they maintain correspondence even now.

From Yurigaoka Girls' Academy:

• Banshoya Ena: Close friends. Ena gave Miharu advice (as she's wont to do) during the Counteroffensive which helped Miharu grow into who she is now. They have a deep connection with one another even now. Ena event went so far as to say, "Hijiri went and invited Sachie to our Garden, but I won't be inviting you. You're making your own legion, right?! Can't wait to fight shoulder to shoulder with them!"
