Kaido Beatrice Chiharu

Kaido Beatrice Chiharu (海堂・ベアトリス・千春) was an Instructor at Ludvico Private Girls' Seminary. Following the sudden departure of Izumi Rosa Rina, Chiharu and Makabe Melania Sayoko were appointed as the primary Instructors for Ludvico's first-year Lilies. At the same time, Chiharu secretly joined Instructor Kosaka Anastasia Ryoko in investigating Rina's discoveries, as well as the reasons for her departure.

Personality

Much like Ryoko, Chiharu is kind and friendly towards her students, while simultaneously being an enthusiastic, yet diligent teacher, noted to never ignore her duties. Despite her earnest attitude, however, Chiharu is still very inexperienced, as she only recently became an Instructor. This, when compounded with her gentle and easygoing personality, causes Chiharu to be somewhat easily intimidated, as shown with her interactions with the seemingly friendly, yet assertive Sayoko.

Prior to becoming an Instructor, Chiharu was very recently a Lily of Ludvico herself, having also been taught by Izumi Rosa Rina, whom she came to admire. Chiharu became an Instructor very shortly after retiring from her active duty as a Lily.

After Rina suddenly deserted from Ludvico, Chiharu became intrigued by what her reasons for leaving could be, leading her to join Instructor Ryoko's investigations on the matter. At one point, Chiharu found Rina's journal, which included the revelation that Professor Kishimoto, the father of Kishimoto Maria Mirai, had been the one responsible for subjecting her to multiple Boosting experiments. She delivers the journal to Ryoko, assuring her that no one else knows of its existence. Chiharu is later appointed to Rina's place as the primary Instructor for the first-year Lilies, together with newly arrived Instructor Sayoko and their superior, Instructor Toride Suzanne Reika.

Chiharu reports to Ryoko having found no evidence of Rina's whereabouts within Ludvico's database, which coupled with the incomplete journal she left behind, causes Chiharu to worry for Rina's present situation. Ryoko, however, assures Chiharu that Rina will eventually return. As their investigation continues, Chiharu is approached by Sayoko, telling her that she feels saddened by being continuously compared with Rina by the students.

Chiharu attempts to encourage Sayoko, saying that she should continue to put in her best efforts as Rina did, but after Chiharu expresses her own admiration for Rina, Sayoko advises her to rethink her feelings towards the Instructor, citing how it was Rina who sent Mirai to be experimented on by GEHENA, and ominously remarking that Chiharu could "meet the same fate as hers". Finally, Sayoko asks Chiharu that if she ever learns of Rina's whereabouts, she must tell her before anyone else.

Afterwards, Chiharu is suddenly approached by Haneda Catalina Mei, who, under Sayoko's instructions, hands her a key. Using the key in a locked drawer in Rina's room, Chiharu finds what appears to be a continuation of Rina's journal. She immediately delivers the paper to Ryoko, who, after reading its contents, very worriedly tells Chiharu to return it to its place and not mention it to anyone. Arriving back at Rina's room, Chiharu meets Sayoko, who invites her to speak in private of what she had found. At some point afterwards, Chiharu runs into Ryoko, who under the influence of the other consciousness possessing her body, Professor Amamiya, viciously attacks her, leaving Chiharu on the brink of death.

Later, Mei brings Sano Matilda Kokoro and Matsunaga Brigitta Kayo into Rina's room, believing to have found a lead in their own investigation of Rina's departure. However, they instead find a bloodied Chiharu, just before the Instructor collapses on the floor, dying before their eyes. The three Lilies immediately begin to panic, with Ryoko finding them soon after. After noticing that the wounds in Chiharu's body were caused by a CHARM, Ryoko urges the Lilies to leave the place as the Cave alert goes off, insisting that they keep everything they've witnessed a secret.

Chiharu's murder is later announced to all students by Instructor Reika, who accuses Rina to be the perpetrator. As such, the Garden is left on high alert for her possible reappearance, with the former Instructor being placed in the national most wanted list.

Trivia

• Chiharu's confirmation name, "Beatrice", is likely inspired by Catholic Saint Beatrice da Silva.
• In the live event Assault Lily x Jinro TLPT - A Cross Offered to our Future II, the Lily Kaido Ciera Chiaki is introduced, sharing Chiharu's exact family name and also being portrayed by actress Uchida Yuu. Though this could imply her to be a relative of Chiharu, they have not yet been confirmed to be related by any Assault Lily sources.
