Differences from the stage play
[edit | edit source]Though the manga introduces several changes to the original story's structure and dialogue, listed below are the most notable:
Volume One
[edit | edit source]- In the play, Futagawa Fumi and Kaede Johan Nouvel brief Hitotsuyanagi Riri on the fundamentals of Huge combat shortly upon their first meeting, setting off to their first training session with Shirai Yuyu and Yoshimura Thi Mai immediately after. In the manga, it is shown that the three of them studied for a significant amount of time before their first training session.
- During the Lilies' first battle against the Huge, Wang Yujia is originally elected to snipe the Large-class Yuyu is fighting with due to her Rare Skill, Heaven's Measure, making her the only one capable of mantaining precision amidst the strong winds. This detail is omitted in the manga.
- Riri and Yujia's conversation during training is shortened in the manga. Notably, Riri does not offer her a bottle of Ramune.
Volume Two
[edit | edit source]- In the manga, Riri has an additional encounter with Ando Tazusa before first attempting to recruit her for her Legion.
- In the play, team Hitotsuyanagi's rescue of Tazusa occurs during the Shimokitazawa Expedition, while in the manga, it occurs during a completely separate battle which takes place several days prior.
- Interestingly, Tazusa is shown making use of her Boosted Skill, Alchemy Trace, in this battle.
- The manga portrays Tazusa's fondness for cats, a detail absent from the stage play.
- While Yuyu's conversations with Kawazoe Misuzu's spirit are completely one-sided in the play, the manga shows a distorted version of Misuzu speaking back from within Yuyu's memories, constantly taunting her for being responsible for her death.
- Yuyu's harsh one-on-one training with Riri, and her subsequent confrontation with Kaede was moved to before the Shimokitazawa Expedition, being portrayed as a frequent, days-long occurrence similar to how it was in Assault Lily: Bouquet.
- The manga portrays the Huge outbreak in Shimokitazawa as an already ongoing event rather than a sudden occurrence as it was in the play. Furthermore, it is stated that Legion Álfheimr was originally set to deploy to Shimokitazawa, but they were ultimately prevented by Yurigaoka's administration. Notably, the manga states that Legion Álfheimr was still preparing to depart for their mission to Niigata.
- In the manga, before being joined by Riri's newly formed Legion, Yuyu attempts to leave to Shimokitazawa alone due to a personal aid request from Fukuyama Jeanne Sachie, this does not happen in the play.
- The manga omits the detail that Riri's Legion was granted Expedition rights despite not having received the Medal of the Holy White Lily. Instead, it is explained that they were merely allowed to deploy not as a Legion, but as a "group of Lilies led by Yuyu".
- In the play, Yuyu is the one to bring the Neunwelt Tactic's Special Ammunition to Shimokitazawa. In the manga, Riri is the one to receive the bullets from Amano Soraha.
Volume Three
[edit | edit source]- Aizawa Kazuha, Kon Kanaho, Funada Ui and Funada Kiito are given their respective CHARMs in accordance to their later appearances. On the other hand, Tsukioka Momiji and Kawamura Yuzuriha are still shown wielding the standard issue Gungnir Carbine and Dainsleif Carbine, respectively.
- Toda Eulalia Kotohi's personality was slightly changed, as though she retains her politeness, she is portrayed as much more playful and energetic, particularly when dueling other Lilies. Notably, she appears to show a level of personal enjoyment of GEHENA's experiment with the Irregular Gigant-class Huge.
- Due to her training with Yuyu being moved to earlier in the story, Riri is a much better fighter by the time of the Shimokitazawa Expedition. In particular, she no longer struggles to activate her CHARM.
Volume Four
[edit | edit source]- The Volume Four interlude adds a completely new sequence showing Ishikawa Aoi's arrival in Shimokitazawa. Most notably, she rescues a group of Lilies of Ludvico Private Girls' Academy that includes Kishimoto Lucia Raimu.
Volume Five
[edit | edit source]- In the manga, Fumi is no longer the one to deduce that the Gigant-class made use of a Magie Reflector, instead, the Lilies ascertain it collectively after reviewing video footage from the battle.
- The manga adds the detail that, after failing to take down the Gigant-class with the Neunwelt Tactic, the Lilies first retreat to a nearby camp, and later spend the night at a hotel.
- Interestingly, the manga omits the conversations between Shenlin and Yujia, and between Kaede and Fumi. The latter of which was likely removed as the manga does not portray Fumi's nervousness at being the one to suggest the countermeasure against the Gigant-class.
- While the play only shows Riri returning her hair ornament to Yuyu, the manga shows that Yuyu used it to rearrange her hair after it was left disheveled by her usage of Divine Possession.
- Yuyu fires the final Magisphere by herself in the play, while the manga has her take the shot together with Riri.
- Kotohi's dialogue at the end of the story is changed to directly reference Gozen, who makes a brief appearance.
Additional characters
[edit | edit source]- Tanaka Ichi appears in Chapters One and in Volume Two's interlude.
- Ito Shizu briefly appears in Chapters Five and Ten.
- Hata Matsuri briefly appears in Chapter Eleven.
- Amano Soraha, Egawa Kusumi, Endo Araya and Banshoya Ena appear in Volume Two's interlude.

Trivia
[edit | edit source]- In a small flashback sequence, a young Tazusa is shown wielding an Asterion.
- After ascertaining that the Gigant-class made use of a Magie Reflector, Aoi suggests that they use the anti-Huge cannon built by Mashima Moyu, in a direct reference to the novel Assault Lily: ARMS
