Kishimoto Lucia Raimu
This article contains major spoilers for the Assault Lily stage plays. Unless you're confident that you know them already, read further at your own peril! |
Kishimoto Lucia Raimu (岸本・ルチア・来夢) is a first-year Lily who attends Ludvico Private Girls' Academy. She is a member of Legion Ironside, and a former member of the Garden's Top Legion, the Temple Legion. She is the Schwester of Fukuyama Jeanne Sachie, the childhood friend of Amamiya Sophia Seren, and the younger sister of Kishimoto Maria Mirai. Raimu is one of the main protagonists of the Ludvico series of stage plays.
Personality
[edit | edit source]Raimu is a cheerful and friendly Lily, described as having a "talent" for drawing the fondness of those around her[1]. While still cordial and polite, she'll often approach others unhesitatingly, very quickly closing the distance between herself and her peers even when meeting for the first time, as exemplified when meeting Narumi Clara Yuko, whom Raimu promptly took to calling "Yuko-chan" even before introducing herself.
Due to her lack of experience as a Lily, Raimu does not show any restraint in asking very basic questions, even when it earns her the ridicule of others. A hard worker, she is very conscious of her lacking combat capabilities, and though she is frustrated at her lack of progress in training, she remains optimistic and is usually eager to continue practicing, be it with her fellow first-years or even by herself, as she aspires to become a Lily of the same caliber as her Legion mates.
Raimu equally admires and is proud of her childhood friend, Seren, and will even sometimes brag about her prowess in combat in Seren's stead. While aware of the gap in their abilities, Raimu's desire to become stronger comes not only out of aspiration for Seren's level of skill, but also out of genuine care for her friend. As Seren had always been the one to take care of her growing up, Raimu wishes to become someone reliable enough for Seren to rely on and share her burdens with as well.
Likewise, Raimu also greatly admired her older sister, Mirai, and it was this fondness for her that inspired Raimu to become a Lily, stating that she wanted to "become a Lily just like her". Raimu and Mirai shared their father's dreams of returning the world to being abundant with life, as it once was before the emergence of the Huge. Because of this, after Mirai passed away, Raimu was determined to follow in her sister's footsteps, and as such, she continuously attempted to mimic Mirai's fighting style, wishing to fulfill the promise she had made to her sister. Eventually, Raimu came to learn of the struggles Mirai faced as a Lily, and upon being faced with her own burdens and choices when walking the same path, Raimu realized she needed to find her own identity as a Lily. While still maintaining reverence for Mirai, Raimu now strives to honor her memory and carry her legacy forward.
Raimu shares a special relationship with her Schwester, Sachie, with both of them finding comfort in each other in the wake of Mirai's death, and conversely, highlighting their own shortcomings by being with each other. Raimu admires Sachie's excellence and discipline in combat, while simultaneously finding motivation and support in the older Lily's kindness. As it is with Seren, Raimu also wishes to become a stronger Lily for Sachie's sake, as she hopes to become a Schwester she can both be proud of and rely upon.
History
[edit | edit source]Before she was born, Raimu's mother was subjected to live experimentation by GEHENA's Professor Amamiya, Seren's father, who wished to observe the results of implanting Huge cells in unborn fetuses. As a result, Raimu (and likely Mirai) were born as Boosted Lilies, and as such, they attracted the Huge's presence from a very young age. However, because they were born with Huge cells, they are seen by the Huge as one of their own, causing regular Huge to lack the instinct to attack them.
Following the death of Seren's mother at the hands of Professor Amamiya, Seren would often stay in the care of the Kishimoto family, leading her to develop a very strong bond with Raimu and Mirai. When Raimu was six years old, she was made to witness the murder of her own mother, with the shock of the event causing her to awaken her Rare Skill, Charisma. The trauma of this experience would cause her to repress this memory, and subsequently, her Rare Skill once again.
Growing up, Raimu and Mirai would often hear stories from her father, Professor Kishimoto, who was also a researcher specializing in biology. He was said to passionately speak about wishing to return the world the abundance of life it once enjoyed prior to the appearance of the Huge, a dream that Mirai came to share. Mirai would later become a Lily of renown, joining the Garden of Ludvico Private Girls' Academy, and integrating their Top Legion, the Temple Legion. This inspired Raimu to become a Lily just like her sister, something that Mirai approved of, remarking how she "looked forward to the day they can fight together."

[edit | edit source]Main article: Assault Lily: Schwester's Prayer
Shortly after the Odaiba Counteroffensive, Mirai would suddenly desert Ludvico, disappearing completely shortly after. Raimu, who was at that point a junior-high Lily in training, unexpectedly found herself before a Cave, and together with Seren, they were caught in the crossfire between the Huge and the Temple Legion. During this battle, they were finally reunited with Mirai, however, the older Lily seemed changed, coldly telling Raimu that she was "unfit to be a Lily". Mirai, who at that point had been subjected to a direct Boosting procedure, suffered an overflow of Magie as a result of the experiments done to her supercharging her Rare Skill, the volatile Phase Transcendence, eventually causing her to explode right before Raimu and Seren. Witnessing such a traumatic event caused Raimu to once again unleash her Rare Skill, but like before, she repressed the memory of it shortly after.
Upon graduating from junior high, Raimu and Seren both enrolled into Ludvico, with the former still wishing to follow in Mirai's steps despite the discouraging words given to her in her last moments. During the entrance exams, Raimu was said to be paralyzed in fear of the dummy Huge used for the combat examination, but nonetheless, she was still admitted into the Garden because of her high Skiller Value,[2] as well as due to GEHENA's influence, as they wished to continue their observations of her.
Joining first year Class B, Raimu and Seren meet and befriend classmates Saeki Julia Karen, Hasegawa Gabriella Tsugumi, and Haneda Catalina Mei, who are awestruck by Seren for passing the entrance exams at the very top of their class. They are also joined by Narumi Clara Yuko, Nagase Marta Nonoka and Hanaoka Angela Moe. Clara is completely enamored with Seren due to her high combat capabilities, to the point of arguing with her former partner, the Class A Lily Hojo Monica Asahi over her newfound love. When the first years turn their conversation to Ludvico's Schwester system, Raimu expresses her desire to have a Schwester of her own, but Yuko dismisses the idea, citing her poor performance during the entrance exams, she argues that no senior would want to take such an incompetent Lily as her Schwester.
During the first years' first training session, Raimu is placed under the tutelage of the second year Fukuyama Jeanne Sachie, who is very hostile towards her. Sachie admonishes Raimu for failing to make proper use of the Asterion she inherited from Mirai, once again echoing Mirai's words that she is "unfit to be a Lily." Raimu learns from Sachie's long time friend, Seto Veronica Ichika, that Sachie was Mirai's former Schwester, and that she has not yet overcome her grief from losing Mirai. Ichika hopes that by being together with her, Raimu might help Sachie finally move on from her grief.
Shortly after the training session, Raimu attempts to recall Mirai's final moments, but she realizes that she cannot, instead suffering from a very strong headache whenever she tries to. Seren assures her that she "doesn't have to remember", insisting that it's enough for her to know that Mirai had died an honorable death. Learning of Sachie's harsh attitude towards her, Seren offers to switch places with her during training, however, Raimu tells her that she wants to remain under Sachie's tutelage, arguing that as her sister's Schwester, she must have a good heart deep down.
Some time later, Ludvico is notified of the appearance of a Cave, and with all Lilies ordered to deploy, Raimu sets off to the battlefield in search of Seren, as she was unable to find her. After briefly meeting with her classmates, Raimu finds Seren fighting by herself, acting unusually disconcerted. Surrounded by six Large-class Huge, Seren attempts to fight them by herself, but is soon overwhelmed by their attacks. The pair manages to regroup with the second-year Lilies, promptly beginning their counterattack, and while Raimu still struggles to fight properly, Sachie declares that she'll keep her safe, as she is her Schwester's younger sister.
The Lilies successfully neutralize all the Huge with the help of Ryuto Girls' Academy's Amatsu Marei, and in the aftermath, Raimu speaks with Sachie, having noticed that Seren appeared to avoid her during the battle. Wishing to become stronger so that she can become more supportive of Seren's struggles, Raimu tells Sachie that she hopes to continue training under her. Sachie is hesitant, arguing that being together would only cause the two of them to be overtaken by their past memories with Mirai, but Raimu points out how even despite this, Sachie had continued to mentor her for all this time. Having grown to deeply admire Sachie during their time together, Raimu boldly declares that she wishes to become her Schwester.
During Ludvico's Easter Festival, Raimu immediately takes to Maria's Hill, the Garden's cemetery, in order to search for Sachie's easter egg, but despite quickly finding it, the egg is empty. Before Raimu can return, however, a Cave forms near Ludvico, with all the Huge converging on her location. Predicting the appearance of a Gigant-class Huge, the Garden assembles the Temple Legion, appointing Raimu as one of its members. Reuniting with Seren, Raimu is given a Medalha secretly left to her by Mirai.
The Temple Legion arrives at Maria's Hill just as the Gigant-class makes its appearance, and so, they promptly begin a Neunwelt Tactic. While making their passes, Raimu learns from Matsunaga Brigitta Kayo that the reason Mirai had deserted Ludvico before she died is because she had undergone a Boosting procedure at the hands of GEHENA. Upon this revelation, Raimu urges Seren to tell her what truly happened to her sister before she died, and Seren reluctantly reveals that Mirai had exploded before the two of them. Though left in shock at this revelation, Raimu is able to take control of the Magisphere upon receiving it, and successfully fires it at the Gigant-class Huge as she awakens to the Subskill Invisible One, perceived by the other Lilies as its Rare Skill form Shukuchi, before falling unconscious.
In the aftermath of the battle, Sachie meets Raimu at Maria's Hill, and agrees to take the Schwester's Oath with her. Sachie promises Raimu that she'll keep her safe in Mirai's stead, and tells Raimu she'll train her into becoming the finest Lily she can be. They are interrupted by a Cave, and the now pair of Schwesters leave together for battle.
Schwester's Secret
[edit | edit source]Main article: Assault Lily: Schwester's Secret
While now sharing a strong bond as Schwesters, Raimu and Sachie are still grappling with the revelation that Mirai was a Boosted Lily. Recalling Mirai's dreams of seeing the world once again filled with life, the pair affirms their desire to bring that to fruition. Meanwhile, GEHENA's observations of Raimu continue, with the fact that she seems to naturally attract the Huge's presence coming to the attention of Ludvico's Instructors.
Determined to properly make use of the Asterion she inherited from her sister, Raimu continues to train by herself, and though Seren expresses her worries for Raimu's mental state after learning of Mirai's fate, Raimu assures her that it was ultimately for the best that she came to learn it.
The Temple Legion is once again assembled to neutralize a Cave, immediately performing the Neunwelt Tactic soon after arriving at the location. Receiving the final pass, Raimu takes the finishing shot and strikes the Huge directly, but much to the Lilies' surprise, the Huge is not defeated. With their Magie depleted, the Temple Legion members are unable to continue fighting, but to their shock, Mirai appears still alive before them, using her Phase Transcendence to divert the Huge away from the Lilies before immediately leaving.
Together with Sachie and Seren, Raimu takes off in pursuit of her sister, but to their surprise, Mirai suddenly turns to attack them, appearing completely feral and inhumane. The three Lilies battle Mirai while pleading that she come to her senses, and after glimpsing at Sachie's Medalha, Mirai is able to briefly regain her consciousness. Though expressing her happiness at the realization that she was able to keep Raimu safe during the battle a year prior, Mirai urges the trio to keep away from her, telling them that she is "no longer herself". Ultimately, Mirai tells the three Lilies that should they encounter her again, they must kill her with no hesitation. Mirai flees once again, leaving Raimu, Seren and Sachie in utter disbelief.
Some time later, another Cave forms near the Garden, and Raimu is once again selected to integrate the Temple Legion. While performing the Neunwelt Tactic, Mirai reappears, this time immediately attacking the Lilies present, being able to effortlessly overpower them even after suffering injuries that would be otherwise fatal. This leads Kuroki Francisca Yuria to conclude that Mirai underwent a second boosting procedure after her apparent death, which caused the Huge cells in her body to grow unstable, essentially making her into a quasi-Huge herself.
Surmising that the only surefire way to defeat Mirai is by shooting her with the Magisphere, the Temple Legion work to restrain Mirai in order to allow Raimu to take the shot. Raimu sees a vision of her sister, who once again tells her that she hopes to one day fight side by side once Raimu becomes a fully-fledged Lily. Raimu then tearfully takes the shot, and as Mirai's body is purged of the Huge cells, she briefly regains her consciousness in her final moments, telling Raimu one final time that she'll surely grow to become an outstanding Lily.
Later, a distraught Raimu visits Maria's Hill in order to pray for her sister's soul. She is joined by Sachie, and the pair allows themselves to air their grief over Mirai's fate. Sensing that an ever greater battle looms in their horizons, they decide to stand their ground, determined to one day see Mirai's dreams of a world filled with life once again fulfilled.
White Resistance ~The Promise's Path~
[edit | edit source]Main article: Assault Lily: White Resistance ~The Promise's Path~
The first years' Instructor, Izumi Rosa Rina, suddenly departs from Ludvico due to her ever growing disillusionment over the Garden's allegiance with GEHENA, as well as their peculiar interest in Raimu. As such, the first year Lilies begin training under instructors Makabe Melania Sayoko and Toride Suzanne Reika. Though Raimu continues to train under Sachie's tutelage, she once again hits a plateau in her abilities, with Sachie remarking that she'll become a "Lily only useful for [the Neunwelt's] finishing shots" if this continues.
Raimu and her classmates are left very frustrated due to their poor performance during training, which is only exacerbated by Asahi's mocking. Hoping to encourage them, Tsugumi suggests that they train by themselves after the regular classes, with Raimu and the others in agreement. Still determined to learn how to wield her Asterion, Raimu keeps on training by herself even as the other first years leave. She is approached by Ichika, who reveals having recently learned that before Mirai deserted the Garden, she had her CHARM specially remodeled to better fit Raimu's shorter stature. And so Ichika tells Raimu that she is failing to see progress in her training due to wishing to mimic her sister and her style, and that in order to properly wield the Asterion, she has to begin looking at it not as her sister's CHARM, but her own, and likewise find her own way to use it.
As they speak, the Lilies learn that the Temple Legion's captain, Ichinomiya Michaela Himari, had been suddenly ambushed by a Cave, which went undetected by Ludvico's systems. They immediately set off to rescue them, but only arrive after the remaining Temple Legion members succeed in repelling the Huge thanks to Moe's awakening of the Rare Skill Phantasm. Though all Lilies emerge from the battle unscathed, Sachie declares that she will no longer integrate the Temple Legion, and will instead form a Legion of their own, as she had grown increasingly distrustful of Ludvico's administration due to their compliance in the Boosting experiments conducted by GEHENA.
With Raimu and Seren promptly following Sachie into her new Legion, they attempt to invite their fellow first-years to join them, but amidst high tensions among the group, they're unable to recruit any members. While they continue to search for members, Seren is approached by Instructor Sayoko, who falsely informs her that the one responsible for the murder of her mother was Raimu's father, Professor Kishimoto, who wished to silence her after failing to use her as a test subject for GEHENA's experiments on the unborn.
Ludvico is alerted to the appearance of Cave, and as the Temple Legion is assembled for deployment, Sachie's Legion, titled Ironside, also sets off to the battlefield. Seren is nowhere to be found, however, and Raimu decides to search for her. She finds a distraught Seren fighting by herself, and when attempting to bring her back to their teammates, Seren angrily tells her off. Suffering a mental breakdown, Seren begins to attack at random when she is stopped by Sachie, and the two battle. Seren then reveals to the pair what she had been told by Sayoko, and as Sachie swiftly disarms her, she urges Seren to weigh the Instructor's words against what she experienced herself being by Raimu's side, arguing that even if it is true, it's only more reason for her to take a stand against it like they decided to do.
Coming to her senses, Seren rejoins Ironside, and they return to the battlefield, joining the Temple Legion in performing the Neunwelt Tactic after their first attempt ended in failure. When receiving her pass, Raimu tells Seren that she wants to believe in her father's innocence, recalling the stories that he'd so passionately tell her and Mirai when growing up. Raimu then takes a successful finishing shot before falling unconscious.
After the battle's conclusion, Seren finds Raimu at Maria's Hill, and the pari reconcile. Seren decides to also believe in Professor Kishimoto's innocence, and is determined to discover the true culprit behind her mother's murder. The pair is then approached by Sachie, who tells them of the mysterious murder of Instructor Chiharu, with Rina declared as the culprit.
White Resistance ~The Blade of Truth~
[edit | edit source]Main article: Assault Lily: White Resistance ~The Blade of Truth~
Despite the disapproval of the Garden's administration, Legion Ironside remains active, but due to the split of the Temple Legion's manpower into two Legions, neither of them have the minimum nine members required to perform the Neunwelt Tactic individually, directly affecting their battle capabilities. During their regular training session, Raimu and Seren learn that Sachie had been blacklisted from training with them as punishment for rebelling against the Garden's orders, preventing them from training as a Legion. In their refusal to acknowledge this, Raimu and Seren are also promptly removed from the training session, however, Instructor Kosaka Anastasia Ryoko secretly brings the pair to Sachie, allowing them to train together.
Later, Raimu and Seren approach Sano Matilda Kokoro and her Schwester, Haneda Catalina Mei, enlisting their help in finding more information pertaining to the murder of Seren's mother. They discuss Professor Kishimoto's current whereabouts, as Raimu remarks that he had been missing since Mirai's original disappearance. When attempting to remember her mother, Raimu once again suffers an intense headache. Kokoro and Mei, as well as Kayo, take to search within the Garden for information, Raimu invites Seren to return to her old family home, hoping to find useful information within her father's old belongings.
Seizing the opportunity of having Raimu and Seren isolated, GEHENA ambushes the pair with a Cave while they are away from the Garden. Faced with three Large-class Huge, Raimu and Seren struggle to hold their own, before being eventually joined by Yuria. When Seren is knocked down by one of the Huge, Yuria rushes to protect her, being severely injured in the process. As the remaining members of Ironside arrive at the scene, they succeed in destroying the Large-class Huge, allowing for Raimu and Seren to safely return to Ludvico.
In their trip, Raimu was able to retrieve an observation journal belonging to her father, which features detailed reports of the first 14 years of Raimu's life. They learn of how Raimu originally awakened to her Rare Skill at the unusually young age of 6, but as Raimu attempts to recall the event that triggered it, she once again suffers from a strong headache. Through the journal's details, they're able to ascertain that Professor Kishimoto was not responsible for the murder of Seren's mother, but they also notice that, strangely, the very last page of the journal has been ripped off.
The Lilies are approached by Instructor Ryoko, who wishes to help them in their investigation in order to prove Instructor Rina's innocence, and hoping to uncover more information, Raimu and Seren follow Kokoro, Kayo and Mei to Instructor Rina's old room, but upon arriving, they're promptly ambushed by Instructor Sayoko, eager to learn the contents of Professor Kishimoto's journal. The Lilies attempt to fight her, but Sayoko is able to easily overpower them. They are rescued by Rina, who returned to the Garden after conducting her own investigations on Raimu and Mirai's past. She hands Seren the last page of Professor Kishimoto's journal, which had previously been in Mirai's possession. Raimu and Seren are able to reunite with Legion Ironside, and together with the Temple Legion, they set off in pursuit of a Gigant-class Huge that appeared near Ludvico.
After Kokoro retrieves a Neunwelt Bullet, the two Legions begin a Neunwelt Tactic, with Raimu once again receiving the final pass. Before she can take the shot, however, they're ambushed by Sayoko and Reika, who had engineered the situation in order to deplete all the Lilies of their Magie in order to retrieve Raimu. The Lilies refuse to comply with their demands, and as Seren refuses to hand over the last page of Professor Kishimoto's journal, the Instructors disable the protective barrier surrounding the Garden, causing a Great Cave to form directly over the campus, which allowed the Huge to launch a large-scale attack on Ludvico's facilities. As such, most of the Temple Legion to leave the scene in order to rescue the Lilies still in the Garden.
Legion Ironside begins fighting the Instructors, but they overpower the Lilies with little issue. The pair reveals to Seren that it was her father, Professor Amamiya, who led GEHENA experiments with the unborn, and that he used Raimu's mother as a test subject after Seren's mother had refused to comply. Enraged at this revelation, Seren attempts to attack the Instructors, but is easily overpowered, and as Seren is about to be killed, Raimu unleashes the full power of her Charisma, leading the Instructors to realize that, in order for her power to grow, Raimu must undergo a traumatic experience.
Rina and Ryoko join Ironside in fighting the Instructors, but to their surprise Ryoko mercilessly kills both Sayoko and Reika. She reveals herself to be Professor Amamiya, who had fused his consciousness with Ryoko's own in order to covertly continue his observations of Raimu. Ryoko reveals to Raimu of how she was born a Boosted Lily due to the experiments conducted on her mother, that being the reason why though she attracts the Huge's presence, she is never attacked by them. Furthermore, she reveals that the reason she awakened to her Rare Skill at such a young age was due to witnessing her mother's murder, and wishing to trigger Raimu's power to grow further, Ryoko begins attacking the Lilies, causing the power of Raimu's Charisma to continue increasing.
Rina tells Raimu of how, due to her connection to the Huge, she should be able to form a sympathetic bond with them which would allow her to use them for her advantage. Upon learning of this, Ryoko presumes that the contents of the last page of Professor Kishimoto's journal likely discuss Raimu's potential to eventually gain complete control over the Huge. As Ryoko closes in on Seren, Raimu subconsciously commands the Gigant-class to attack her. Seren then attempts to hold Ryoko in place, but the Instructor breaks free, lethally wounding the Lily as she does so.
Presuming that she will not survive, Seren says her final goodbyes to Raimu, and together with Yuria, she once again holds down Ryoko after provoking the Gigant-class into attacking once again, with the three Lilies being directly hit by the Gigant-class' attack. Ryoko still survives, however, but believing Seren to have died, a furious Raimu decides to battle Ryoko on her own, hoping to "put an end to all of this". She is ultimately stopped by Sachie, however, who takes it upon herself to kill Ryoko in Raimu's stead.
In the aftermath of the battle, Raimu loses her will to continue fighting as a Lily, as she blames herself for the death of her mother, Mirai and Seren. She reveals to Sachie that she had hoped to die in the previous battle, so that her presence wouldn't cause any more tragedy. Sachie, and later Yuria, dispute her decision, reminding her of how those were sacrifices made so she could continue moving forward, and that the responsibility of carrying on Mirai's legacy and dreams falls on her shoulders.
Encouraged by their words, Raimu decides to continue fighting. She reunites with Seren, revealed to have survived the previous battle. In a prayer to Mirai, Raimu promises to realize the dreams that she left them with.
The Fateful Gift
[edit | edit source]Main article: Assault Lily: The Fateful Gift
Though the Lilies were victorious in their battle against GEHENA, the Huge's assault on the Garden caused Ludvico to suffer severe casualties, with many of its Instructors losing their lives, as well as its facilities being heavily destroyed by the Huge. As such, the Garden completely ceased to function in any official capacity, with other nearby Gardens sending its own Legions to cover Ludvico's territory. As the incident caused a large-scale breakout of the Irregular Huge held as test subjects in GEHENA's Ludvico Labs, Legion Ironside leads the defensive efforts against the Huge infestation in the now inoperative Temple Legion's stead. Unbeknownst to Raimu, another Ludvico Lily, Toda Eulalia Kotohi, secretly watches over her, reporting her findings to GEHENA.
Upon receiving reports of a Gigant-class in the area, Ironside meets with Funada Kiito and Funada Ui of Odaiba Girls' School's Legion Hronesnæsse, as well as Herensuge Girls' Academy's Legion Hervör. Agreeing to continue their advance together, they are surrounded by a large swarm of Huge while making their way towards the Gigant-class, who are notably able to attack Raimu. When Hervör member Sasaki Ran is injured in the battle, Raimu offers to help her up, but as their hands touch, the pair experiences an immense surge of Magie, allowing Ran to quickly destroy all the Huge surrounding them. Raimu learns that, just like her, Ran is never attacked by the Huge despite attracting their presence, and after explaining to the others how it is a result of her nature as a born Boosted Lily, the Lilies conclude that Ran is probably the result of a similar experiment.
Raimu and Ran's Magie burst causes a large number of Huge, including the Gigant-class, to suddenly converge on their location, and shortly after meeting Yurigaoka Girls' Academy's Team Hitotsuyanagi, they encounter a second Gigant-class Huge. With Team Hitotsuyanagi setting off to neutralize the first Gigant, the multi-Legion team splits themselves into two teams in order to perform two Neunwelts as a preventive measure in the event the second Gigant possesses a Magie Reflector.
Before they can finish their Neunwelts, however, a third Gigant-class appears, and with no other choice, the Legions use the two Magispheres in order to neutralize both of them. But while both finishing shots hit each Huge directly, only one of them is destroyed, with the other instead absorbing the Magisphere and firing it directly against Ran and Raimu. The pair is shielded by Kotohi, who uses her own Magi Reflector to absorb the attack before falling unconscious.
Later, the Lilies conclude that in order to defeat the final Gigant-class, they must overwhelm it by producing a Magisphere supercharged with Magie, a feat which would require a number of Lilies beyond the standard nine to achieve, With many of the Lilies still exhausted from the previous battle, Raimu volunteers to return to the battlefield, and though Ando Tazusa worries that doing so will cause her and Ran being attacked again, Raimu insists that she join them regardless.
The Lilies form a mixed team with sixteen members, with Charisma users Raimu, Hitotsuyanagi Riri and Shiba Tomoshibi tasked with stabilizing the supercharged Magisphere. Riri, inspired by the courage Raimu displayed prior, attempts to fight by herself, but in doing so, she is left completely exhausted. Raimu uses her Charisma to replenish Riri's Magie, and tells her that she shouldn't attempt to act by herself, as their power is best used when together with others. After Team Hitotsuyanagi briefly battles a mysterious masked woman, Riri receives the final pass of the Neunwelt, and successfully destroys the Gigant-class Huge.
Lost Memories
[edit | edit source]Main article: Assault Lily: Lost Memories
Despite the strenuous efforts of Legion Ironside, as well as the aid of the other Gardens of Tokyo, Ludvico remains inoperative, as the Huge originating from Ludvico Labs continue to infest their territory. During one of their many battles against the Huge, Raimu and Sachie meet with Marei, who wishes to learn more about the masked woman, Gozen. After briefly discussing Team Hitotsuyanagi's previous encounter with her, the pair is told by Marei that the experiments conducted in Ludvico Labs are being continued elsewhere, and Sachie fears that GEHENA is still continuing their observations of Raimu.
Looking back on their previous battle, Raimu worries for Kotohi's safety, as the Lily had since completely abandoned Ludvico. While Marei is dismissive of Kotohi due to the revelation that she was working in service of GEHENA, Raimu recalls how she had risked her own life to protect her and Ran previously, wondering if she has a good heart deep down. At the same time, Raimu is still unsure of what caused the surge of Magie she experiences when touching Ran, and Marei theorizes it to be a similar occurrence to the Funada Twins' Empathy Phenomenon, brought upon by their similar nature as born Boosted Lilies, coupled with the high compatibility between their Rare Skills, Charisma and Lunatic Trancer.
Later, Raimu, Sachie and Marei are summoned by Tazusa to the Metropolitan Government Office in Shinjuku, in order to aid Team Hitotsuyanagi in retrieving Yuyu, who had been coerced into joining Gozen. There, Raimu reunites with Ran, and they briefly encounter Kotohi, who shows a unique reverence to the pair, referring to them as "Princesses". Accompanied by a Gigant-class Huge controlled by Gozen, Kotohi encourages the Lilies to give up on Yuyu and leave in peace, but Team Hitotsuyanagi refuses, and they follow Kotohi inside the Government Office building. Wishing to learn more about their nature as "Princesses", Raimu and Ran also join them in going after Kotohi.
Ran and Raimu reach Kotohi as she battles Team Hitotsuyanagi, and the pair joins them in their fight, making use of their unique phenomenon in order to push back against Kotohi. In awe of the power displayed by them, Kotohi invites the pair to join her so they can learn more about their true nature, and after she is questioned on Yuyu, Raimu and Ran attempt to reason with Kotohi, telling her of the suffering they endured due to their nature as born Boosted Lilies, and that they cannot join her in subjecting Yuyu to the same fate.
Their fight continues, and eventually, Tazusa, Shenlin and Yujia are able to convince Kotohi to stop fighting. In her clarity, Kotohi explains to Ran and Raimu that she and Gozen view them as their "Princess" because they possess the power of the Huge without being subjected to direct experimentation as they have. Kotohi bids the pair farewell as she leaves to find Gozen, while Ran and Raimu return to aid the Lilies fighting the Gigant-class outside the building. After succeeding in defeating the Huge, the Funada Twins return to Odaiba, while the remaining Lilies, including Ran and Raimu, set off to find Team Hitotsuyanagi once again.
New Chapter
[edit | edit source]Main article: Assault Lily: New Chapter
Following the revival of Ludvico, Legion Ironside was elected to integrate the multi-Garden survey team tasked with investigating the mysterious nests that appeared in the islands of Izu Oshima, Tokyo. Raimu, Sachie and Seren once again join the Funada Twins and Shiba Tomoshibi, as well as Ueda Imari and Kamigoori Marimo of Irma Girls' School for the Arts', and Aizawa Kazuha and Matsumura Fuka of Herensuge Legions Hervör and Cuélebre in their mission.
After encountering a swarm of Huge immediately upon landing, the survey team finds Legion Sanngriðr locked in combat with the Flowers of the End. They join the Yurigaoka Legion in repelling them, but Raimu finds herself struggling to fight properly. Once successfully driving the Flowers away, the survey team is joined by Kaede Johan Nouvel and Futagawa Fumi, where they are told by Marimo of the 13 Sisters Project conducted by the Garden of Kuramayama, which sought the creation of a Legion of Princesses. Surmising that the Flowers are remnants of the Lilies who were unable to endure the Boosting experiments, the survey team decide to further investigate the matter, agreeing to rejoin Sanngriðr in fighting them should they reappear.
Raimu shares her sympathies with Sanngriðr after they identify the leader of the Flowers as their longtime friend Yamaguchi Chihiro, recalling her own encounter with Mirai after she had been resurrected. Following the disappearance of Hasebe Touka, the survey team agree to search for her while Sanngriðr pursue the Flowers, but while they're able to pinpoint her location with the aid of Nakahara Mary Tomoyo, they are forced to pivot objectives after the appearance of an Irregular Huge that could eventually lead to the formation of a Death Zone.
Arriving deep within the island's undercities, the survey team encounters a protective shield, and with no other choice, they initiate a Neunwelt Tactic to destroy it. While on her turn with the Magisphere, Sachie notices a difference in Raimu's Rare Skill, realizing that Raimu's Charisma had evolved into Laplace. Upon destroying the shield, the teams are faced with a Juggernaut, with Raimu and Tomoshibi utilizing their Rare Skills to purify the surrounding Negative Magie in the area while the survey team performs a second Neunwelt.
However, Raimu and the other Boosted Lilies present suddenly begin attacking the other members of the survey team, influenced by the Juggernaut's Negative Magie restraining device. The non Boosted members of the survey team continue to fight the Juggernaut, while making the Neunwelt's passes and keeping the Boosted Lilies at bay, eventually allowing for Kaede to take the finishing shot, which repels the Juggernaut and freeing the Boosted Lilies from the Negative Magie's influence.
New Chapter 2
[edit | edit source]Main article: Assault Lily: New Chapter 2
Following their battle with the Juggernaut, the survey team is informed by Legion Álfheimr of their encounter with the legendary Ultra-class Charybdis, who was accompanied by the humanoid Huge Rusalka. They learn that the Juggernaut had been developed by Ludvico Labs, and of its abilities to increase its powers every time it fights. As they speak, the four nests mature to completion, establishing a Death Zone in Oshima island. After developing a plan to permanently defeat it, the survey team continues to pursue the Juggernaut, with Raimu and Tomoshibi once again tasked with purifying the Negative Magie from the Death Zone.
The survey team struggles to take down the Juggernaut, and frustrated, Raimu attempts to step into battle, but she is stopped by Seren, who reminds her that she must conserve her power throughout their mission. As their battle continues, Sachie switches her Charlemagne for Raimu's Asterion, using it to unleash the technique Vanishing, sufficiently weakening the Juggernaut and allowing it to be defeated by the Funada Sisters.
Though Sanngriðr succeeds in destroying one of the nests, the Death Zone persists, as a result of Charybdis and Rusalka creating their own nest. Mashima Moyu deduces they should be able to dissipate the Death Zone by separating the pair of Huge from their nest. The Legions are suddenly ambushed by Rusalka, and the survey team joins Sanngriðr in fighting the humanoid Huge. However, both teams are depleted of their Magie, and are unable to create a powerful enough Magisphere, even with the aid of Raimu and Tomoshibi's Laplace.
The Legions are joined by the Flowers, having regained their consciousness. Raimu, Seren and Sachie briefly fight Rusalka while the remaining Lilies continue their Neunwelt, with the Flowers pouring all of their remaining Magie into completing the Magisphere, eventually allowing Chihiro, together with Sanngriðr, to successfully destroy Rusalka.

Family
[edit | edit source]Raimu's father, Professor Kishimoto was a professor and researcher in GEHENA, specializing in biology. Though implied to still be alive, Raimu remarks that she has not met him since Mirai's first disappearance.
Raimu's mother was murdered, presumably by Seren's father, Professor Amamiya. She was one of GEHENA's test subjects in their research on the impact of Huge cells on unborn fetuses.
Raimu's sister, Kishimoto Maria Mirai, was known as the strongest Lily in the history of Ludvico prior to her death, being one of the most renowned Lilies of the Duelist generation.
Trivia
[edit | edit source]- Raimu's confirmation name, "Lucia", is in reference to Saint Lucia, better known in English as Saint Lucy.
- Raimu's existence as a character predates her presence in the Assault Lily universe. A character named "Kishimoto Raimu" appears in other plays by Ludvico Private Girls' Academy dating back to 2014, where she was performed by Yano Ema (at the time going by Maeda Misato). However, in some of these plays, Raimu differs significantly from her Assault Lily incarnation in appearance and personality.
- Whenever Raimu unleashes the full power of her Charisma, two pairs of white, angel-like wings sprout from her back.
- Interestingly, after the explosion that claimed Mirai's life, Seren described Raimu as "appearing like an angel" when surrounded by the falling particles of Magie.
- In Assault Lily: Sturm, when Imai Seira awakens to Laplace, her Magie also takes the form of two pairs of white, angelic wings identical to Raimu's. This possibly indicates that Raimu had first awakened to Laplace as early as White Resistance ~The Blade of Truth~.
- In both Last Bullet and the stage plays, Raimu's Magie is often represented by a vortex of multicolored ribbons.
- Raimu's likes include soft serve ice cream, fruit parfaits and going to amusement parks.[6]
- Raimu's dislikes include horror movies and going to haunted houses.[6]
- Raimu's special skills and hobbies include hair styling and chatting.[6]
- According to Raimu's special Christmas voiceline in Last Bullet, Raimu believes in Santa Claus.
- Raimu's second action doll gained notoriety for including a particularly humorous shocked expression as a faceplate. When Raimu was released in Last Bullet, a sticker bearing the doll's expression was made available.
- Similarly, Raimu is one of the select characters in Last Bullet with unique facial expressions, with hers being the "eyes-strongly-shut" (usually depicted as "> <"), which her first action doll was also notorious for possessing as a faceplate.
- Raimu is the third shortest character with a confirmed height in all of Assault Lily; only Futagawa Fumi and Sasaki Ran are shorter. For several years, until those two characters had their heights confirmed in early 2023, she was the shortest known character.
- Awatsu Mai, who portrayed Raimu in the original versions of ~The Promise's Path~ and ~The Blade of Truth~, would later go on to portray Raimu's older sister, Mirai, in the revival of the Ludvico stage plays.
