Timeline
Appearance

There is no official timeline of the Assault Lily setting, nor has the exact date ever been stated in most of the continuities, but thanks to a detailed calendar shown in episode 5 of Assault Lily: Bouquet we've been able to calculate when this specific moment in Bouquet takes place: June 18, 2052.
An explanation of how this date was calculated
- The date shown is Tuesday, June 18. This combination of weekday and date narrows the possible years down to 2047, 2052, 2058, and various others.
- 旧5月22日 means "5/22 in the old calendar" (meaning the lunar calendar used in Japan prior to the adoption of the Gregorian calendar.) Like all lunar calendars, this calendar experiences continuous drift compared to the solar calendar. 6/18/2052 corresponds to 5/22 in the old calendar.
- 6/18/2047 corresponds to 5/25 in the old calendar.
- 6/18/2058 corresponds to intercalary month 4[1]/28 in the old calendar.
- 月齢 means "moon age", i.e. the number of days since the new moon. This also corresponds best to 2052; at the beginning of 6/18/2052, the moon will be 20.31 days old.
- On 6/18/2047, the moon will be 25.5 days old.
- On 6/18/2058, it will be 27.7 days old.
Timeline of Events[edit | edit source]
In most cases, the order of the events in this timeline is speculative.
Date | Event | Notes | |
---|---|---|---|
Circa 2000 | The Huge appear on Earth[2][3] | ||
Before 2002 | Takamatsu Shiera is born[4] | ||
Before 2036 | The Antarctic Campaign | Ando Tazusa was born 'soon' after her father's return from Antarctica[5] (unless 'soon' refers only to her parents marrying, not Tazusa being born.) Because she was definitely born after this, the latest that the Antarctic Campaign could possibly have occurred is 2036. | |
2042-2047 | Several Yurigaoka elementary school students are attacked by small-type Huge | Yamaguchi Chihiro went missing during this incident. Hayami Katsura then chose to quit being a Lily and attend a civilian school because of it. | |
2050 | The Koshu Evacuation Legion Álfheimr is formally established |
Maybe around August; an event that possibly parallels or parodies the Fuji Firepower Review was set to happen around the time of the Koshu Evacuation[6]. | |
2051 | The Liberation of the Boso Peninsula | Legion Álfheimr participated in this battle, with Hayakawa Yahiro and Tominaga Shin supporting them[7]. | |
2051 (spanning several months) | The Makuhari Recapture | Concurrent with the Odaiba Counteroffensive, though some Lilies took part in both. The latter parts were also concurrent with the Great Huge Onslaught[8]. | |
2051 | The Odaiba Counteroffensive |
Concurrent with the Makuhari Recapture, though some Lilies took part in both. | |
2051 | Zushi International Girls' High School is destroyed by the Huge |
Generally not considered part of the Great Huge Onslaught, though some scholars disagree[9]. | |
2051 | The Great Huge Onslaught | A series of battles where Huge from the Oiso Undersea Nest attacked Kamakura Prefecture. Most 2nd and 3rd-year Lilies from Yurigaoka were still away fighting in the Makuhari Recapture at this time. | |
The First Defense of Oiso | 10 gigant-types appeared near Oiso without warning, and Legion Álfheimr was ordered to respond. During this battle, Hasebe Touka fell into a vegetative state, and Takegoshi Chihana's actions lead to civilian casualities[10]. | ||
Legion Álfheimr disbands | After Takegoshi Chihana was removed as the captain of Álfheimr by order of the student council and the legion was told to choose a new captain, they disbanded instead[10]. | ||
The Second Defense of Oiso[11] | Most of the 95th Tsubaki class's legions (from Yurigaoka) were destroyed during this battle[8][12], and Akashi Manaka went missing. | ||
The Third Defense of Oiso | Murakami Tokiwa and Yamazaki Meika killed three gigant-types using B-type Armaments during this battle. This marked the end of the Great Huge Onslaught[13]. | ||
2051 | Legion Sanngriðr is formally established | Happened after Murakami Tokiwa returned from the Makuhari Recapture. Several members of the unofficial Legion Ginnungagap were moonlighting as members of Sanngriðr at this time[13]. Probably happened quite close to the end of the year. Tetsukawa Toa is said to have joined shortly after this, but when she was a first-year (i.e. in 2052.)[14] | |
Early 2052 | Hitotsuyanagi Riri enrolls in Yurigaoka | ||
2052 | Team Hitotsuyanagi is established | In the anime/game continuity, Team Hitotsuyanagi recruited its last two members on Riri's birthday (June 19th.) | |
2052 | Hasebe Touka recovers consciousness and joins Legion Sanngriðr Legion Sanngriðr is awarded the Medal of the Holy White Lily |
The medal was awarded to Sanngriðr after Team Hitotsuyanagi got theirs, and "quite suddenly" after Touka joined Sanngriðr[13], meaning probably between Assault Lily: Bouquet episodes 6 and 8. | |
2052 | The Niigata Recapture | ||
2052 | The Oshima Offshore Nest Investigation |
