Assault Lily: Schwester's Secret

Assault Lily x Ludvico Private Girls Academy vol.2 "Schwester's Secret" (アサルトリリィ × 私立ルドビコ女学院vol.2『シュベスターの秘密』) is a stage play created by AZONE International and acus in collaboration with the theater group Ludvico Private Girls' Academy. It is the sequel to Schwester's Prayer and is the second of four Ludvico stage plays. The original run premiered September 16, 2016 at the Sun-mall studio, while the revival premiered October 15, 2021 at the Pocket Theater in Nakano.

A sequel, White Resistance ~The Promise's Path~, premiered September 21, 2018. A revival also released June 30, 2022.

Plot[edit | edit source]

Prelude[edit | edit source]

Not long after Schwester's Prayer, a cave appears and the Temple Legion is sent to deal with it. Fukuyama Jeanne Sachie compliments Amamiya Sophia Seren and Kishimoto Lucia Raimu, who she has gotten closer to after becoming Schwesters. A flashback is shown, showing Kishimoto Maria Mirai's question to Raimu and Sachie and Mirai's conversation. In present time, Seren is insistent on wanting to become Schwesters with Kuroki Francisca Yuria and becoming stronger but Yuria questions her, explaining her trauma of being a Boosted Lily. A final flashback is shown, depicting Mirai's last stand against the Huge.

Prologue[edit | edit source]

Back to the present, Matsunaga Brigitta Kayo, who is holding flowers, runs into Sachie. Tachibana Theresia Nagisa arrives, finally enrolling into Ludvico Private Girls' Academy, and immediately greets the two. At the same time, Sano Matilda Kokoro tells Ichinomiya Michaela Himari these news, in which she is shocked that she came so early. Nagisa then asks about her friend Seto Veronica Ichika, but Kayo apologizes, saying it's her fault and that she got hurt during a Huge attack.

A few days ago, Hasegawa Gabriella Tsugumi, Haneda Catalina Mei, and Saeki Julia Karen are fighting the Huge by themselves, the latter two arguing before Tsugumi has to break it up. Ichika, Kayo, and Kokoro come to help, but Kayo activates her Lunatic Trancer, going out of control and messing up their formation. Kokoro and Ichika use their Rare Skill but to no prevail, partially to Kayo interrupting Ichika's Heliosphere. Kayo snaps out of it and has a mental breakdown, ruining Kokoro's focus. Ichika then takes a blow from the Huge meant for Karen, injuring her. Kayo blames herself for the incident, but Nagisa says it isn't her fault and that Ichika chose to do it herself, to which Sachie agrees. Meanwhile, in the GEHENA labs, the two teachers Izumi Rosa Rina and Kosaka Anastasia Ryoko talk to GEHENA about Mirai, but Rina has doubts against them and runs off. She also feels guilty for keeping so many secrets from Raimu.

Later, Raimu is shown practicing with her CHARM when Seren comes in and tells her not to push herself. Tsugumi, Mei, and Karen arrive in the scene, and Karen tells everyone that when she came to visit Ichika, she finally called her by her first name, surprising everyone. Tsugumi also mentions her Rare Skill Brave, much to the disappointment of everyone and confusion of Raimu. Karen says Seren and Hojo Monica Asahi both have the Rare Skill The Way of the World, and the latter appears soon after and mentions her position, AZ. Narumi Clara Yuko and her two friends Hanaoka Angela Moe and Nagase Marta Nonoka come into the scene, and Yuko argues with Asahi. Yuko wants Seren and Himari together, because Seren said she would take the strongest Lily. Asahi also challenges Yuko to a fight, which she accepts.

Ichika, who is on crunches, talks with Marei, who is staying at the school for a little longer. The next scene has Yuria and Seren have a conversation where the latter wants to challenge the former to a duel. Yuria refuses, saying she will win due to being a Boosted Lily and explaining how she became so. In the past, Yuria was severely injured in a cave and had to be experimented on to survive. However it is implied that GEHENA set her up.

First Battle[edit | edit source]

Suddenly a cave appears. While Tsugumi, Mei, Karen, and Ryoko cheer on them, the Temple Legion assembles and fights the Huge. Because of her guilt in the incident, Kayo is reluctant to use Lunatic Trancer, losing her fight sense and as a result, not being picked for the Temple Legion. Instead, Asahi and Nagisa are picked instead to fight. Raimu, who is hesitant about joining, decides to with the encouragement of Seren, while Tsugumi is finally picked as well. On the contrary, thinking that she is useless now, Kayo runs away, to which Himari says let her go alone. This prompts Nagisa to call out Himari's status as a captain, accusing her of acting like it's their old school, Irma Girls' High School for the Arts, and not knowing about Ludvico, shocking her. The Temple Legion does the Neunwelt Tactic with Raimu getting the last pass from the magiesphere, but the Huge is still alive. This puts the Lilies in a tough situation, but suddenly, Mirai, back from the dead, finishes off the Huge by using her rare skill Phase Transcendence. Raimu, Himari, and Seren are completely stunned seeing this. Back at the school, GEHENA tells the two teachers that it was their secret plan all along to bring back the strongest Lily, shocking both of them.

Raimu, seeing her older sister revived, asks her what's wrong, but Mirai attempts to attack her. Mirai starts getting a headache, going out of control, and a fight ensues between her and Sachie, Seren, and Raimu. However, they are no match for her. When she is about to kill Sachie, she shows her the pendant, reminding Mirai of their Schwester bond and bringing her back to her senses. Mirai starts breaking down in tears, not letting the three go near he. She says she is proud that Sachie is finally moving on, happy that Seren is fulfilling her promise of protecting Raimu, and glad that Raimu is safe, but then she tells them to kill her the next time they see her.

Interlude[edit | edit source]

Nagisa comes and visits Ichika in the infirmary, who apologizes for being useless. Nagisa responds by saying she didn't do anything wrong. Afterwards, Kokoro sneaks up on Kayo, who is shown playing a game on her tablet. She gives some encouraging words to her, who runs off. Kokoro then calls Mei, who has been spying on them the whole time. Yuria has another talk with Himari, who apologizes for the situation earlier. In a parallel scene, Rina tells Ryoko that she thinks GEHENA has gone too far and that this will make the Lilies suffer even more. Out of nowhere, Nonoka and Moe run to Himari and Yuria and tell them that Yuko and Asahi are fighting, in which they run to see. At first, Asahi has the advantage, but after Himari gives her some encouraging words and she takes out her bear, Yuko finally reigns victorious. However Himari calls them out and says they are both sisters of Ludvico. Afterwards, Yuko acknowledges Asahi as her partner, and they both handshake.

Second Battle[edit | edit source]

Another Cave appears, and the Temple Legion is called once again. Tsugumi has doubts, but through the encouragement of Karen, Nonoka, and Moe, accepts her new role in the legion. While Yuria fights Huge, Marei appears behinds her and starts fighting as well. She and Ichika, who has arrived too, then gives Yuria an Adelring to use in combat before Yuria thanks them and leaves. The Lilies meet together, and Himari decides to let Tsugumi go to Kayo, as Brave and Lunatic Trancer go well together. Nagisa again chides Himari, but Yuria tells her that she was the one who's dragged her fighting style from her study abroad all along. Realizing this, Nagisa finally decides to put her trust in the leader. The legion starts another Neunwelt. Yuko and Asahi use their Rare Skills together and fight side by side, showing their new friendship, much to the excitement of Kokoro.

In another area, Tsugumi finds Kayo by herself, doubting herself and apologizing once again. She asks her why she is quitting on her friends, but she also promises that she will follow Kayo forever. Kayo, stunned at Tsugumi's words, denies it, but then Tsugumi confesses that she always thought she was strong, and finally asks her to be Schwesters together. Kayo accepts, and they sign the Schwester contract by exchanging their pendants.

The two arrive back at the battlefield, where they fight together with Tsugumi's Brave and Kayo's Lunatic Trancer. The magiesphere passes, until it is Raimu who has the final shot once again. However, Mirai returns once again to kill the Huge, and she causes an explosion which divides half of the Temple Legion, only leaving Sachie, Raimu, Seren, Himari, and Nagisa to fight the berserk Mirai.

The same results happen, as the Lilies are overwhelmed by her power, and even Sachie's attempts to regain Mirai's memories end up in failure. Yuria, realizing that the Mirai everyone knows is gone, decides to shoot her in the head, but she recovers due to the Boosted Skill Regenerator. Mirai then incapacitates Yuria, Himari, and Nagisa, and Sachie, Seren, and Raimu realize that they have to put their loved one to rest. As Sachie and Seren hold Mirai down, Raimu is the one to finally kill her sister with the magiesphere from the earlier Neunwelt. As Mirai passes away, her last words are that she is proud of her Schwester, close friend, and sister, and the three Lilies mourn and tear up over the fact that they are the ones to kill someone they loved.

Epilogue[edit | edit source]

After the battle, the nuns talk about the events, and Rina questions GEHENA's authority. She genuinely wonders if they really want to protect the Lilies like she always did, so she leaves Ludvico.

Yuria, who has learned from the experience with Mirai, finally becomes Schwesters with Seren. While Nagisa and Kokoro congratulate Kayo on her new Schwester, Kayo finally correctly deduces that Raimu's Rare Skill is not Shukuchi, but instead the subskill Invisible One and the Rare Skill Charisma. Himari overhears this, and Nagisa apologizes to her for the harsh words and accepts her role as leader. Accepting her apology, Himari makes her the vice captain of the Temple Legion, making Nagisa very happy. Marei leaves Ludvico at the end of the play, hoping she can see Ichika and Sachie again, and believing in them and the garden.

Word has spread in the student body that Raimu has Charisma and that Yuria and Seren have become Schwesters. Asahi and Yuko are shown getting more along than their rivalry in the past, as well. The last scene has Raimu and Sachie sitting together alone, reminiscing about Mirai. They share a hug, crying, but decide to stay strong and honor Mirai's legacy, with the help of their friends too.

Differences[edit | edit source]

Akutsu Lucifer Maaya only appears in the 2016 original run.

The circumstances involving Ichika's injury is completely different in the two versions. In the 2016 run, Ichika simply does not appear, but in the 2021 version, she is injured during a battle.

Once again, Amatsu Marei is only in the 2021 revival. Right before the first battle in the Cave, Ichika, who is on crunches, talks with Marei, who is staying at the school for a little longer. At the beginning of the second battle, Marei appears behind Yuria, who is fighting Huge, and decides to fight a little herself. She and Ichika, who has arrived as well, then gives Yuria an Adelring to use in combat. Marei leaves Ludvico at the end of the play, hoping she can see Ichika and Sachie again, and believing in them and the garden.

In the 2021 revival, Kayo explicitly mentions that the game she is playing on her tablet is called Last Bullet.
At the last showing of the 2021 revival, the revivals for White Resistance ~The Promise's Path~ and White Resistance ~The Blade of Truth~ were announced along with the release dates.
