Narumi Clara Yuko

Narumi Clara Yuko (鳴海・クララ・優子) is a first-year Lily who attends Ludvico Private Girls' Academy. She is a member of the Garden's Top Legion, the Temple Legion, and the Schwester of its captain, Ichinomiya Michaela Himari. Clara often appears together with Hanaoka Angela Moe and Nagase Marta Nonoka, and is a longtime friend and rival of Hojo Monica Asahi. She is a major character of the Ludvico series of stage plays.
Personality[edit | edit source]
A traditionally feminine girl, Clara's outward presentation is a direct result of her fondness for cute things. She usually speaks in a high-pitched tone of voice, and her vocabulary is notably much more pompous and "ladylike" than the more informal speech adopted by her classmates. In maintaining her high-class etiquette, Clara exclusively refers to other Ludvico Lilies by their confirmation name, and insists that others refer to her as "Clara" instead of her first name, Yuko.
Clara takes great pride in her high level of skill as a fighter, even referring to herself as the "number one prodigy amongst the first years". She shows a remarkable level of discipline when in combat, and takes training very seriously. Most notably, Clara is always seen carrying the pink teddy bear Kumama, who appears to be a regular teddy bear at first glance, but it is actually filled with heavy weights. Despite this, Clara is able to handle Kumama nonchalantly, while other Lilies struggle to even stand upright while carrying it.
At the same time, Clara also aspires to have an equally talented partner, and as such, she notoriously became quickly enamored by Amamiya Sophia Seren after learning that the Lily had passed the Garden's entrance exams at the very top of their class, going as far as to address Seren with the honorific "sama" despite her also being a first year. Despite Seren's indifference to her advances, Clara became completely devoted to her, and was determined to capture the Lily's heart ever since first meeting her.
However, while presenting herself as bubbly and upbeat, Clara is arrogant and self-centered. Due to her high level of combat skill, she'll frequently belittle her less experienced classmates, with even her cohorts Moe and Nonoka not being spared from her mocking. Clara is also notoriously immature at times, becoming greatly aggressive anytime she feels that her pride is threatened, while at the same time, she'll refuse to acknowledge her own faults whenever they cause her to conflict with others. Similarly, Clara is very competitive, and will rarely ever change her mind on an issue if she believes it possible for her to come out on top, and while it was this attitude that eventually led her to take the Schester's oath with Himari, it also led her to engage in verbal and even physical altercations with some of her closest friends.
On the other hand, though Clara was completely dismissive of classmates initially, she eventually grew past her insensitive attitude, and by the time of White Resistance ~The Blade of Truth~, she appears to purposefully use her demeaning attitude in order to motivate her friends to better themselves. Notably, when Saeki Julia Karen began to earnestly consider quitting being a Lily due to being frustrated at her lack of progress, Clara dropped her arrogant tone altogether so that she could offer her earnest advice, in hopes that it'd encourage Karen to continue training.
History[edit | edit source]
While Clara was already known for her battle capabilities since her time in junior high, she was still not as prominent as some of her peers, being particularly sidelined by the reliable Hasegawa Gabriella Tsugumi.[1] It was during this period that she met Hojo Monica Asahi, whom Clara came to greatly admire due to her high degree of skill in Duelist tactics. And so, Clara and Asahi became not only close friends, but also partners in combat, with Clara secretly longing to become as strong as Asahi one day. At one point, Asahi gifted Clara the pink stuffed bear Kumama, whom Clara would become inseparable from.
It was during this time that Clara and Asahi befriended Ishikawa Aoi during the Lily's brief stay in Ludvico. They became a tightly knit trio, often sharing the battlefield,[2] as well as diligently dedicating themselves to their studies together.[3] Clara, in particular, became devoted to her training due to her desire to match Asahi. This allowed Clara to begin realizing her full potential, and so, she was able to completely surpass Asahi, being considered by some to be the new top Duelist amongst the newer generation of Lilies.[4] However, with Asahi being equally as prideful as Clara, this led to a falling out between the two, and as such, they stopped being each other's partners. Aoi, meanwhile, eventually transferred away from Ludvico, continuing her pilgrimage across Tokyo's Gardens.
At some point, Clara met Hanaoka Angela Moe and Nagase Marta Nonoka, and the trio became friends, with Clara acted as their leader, while Moe and Nonoka took to copying her style and mannerisms.

Schwester's Prayer[edit | edit source]
Main article: Assault Lily: Schwester's Prayer
Soon after graduating into high school, Clara learned of the newly enrolled Amamiya Sophia Seren, who despite not being an active Lily during junior high, was able to pass Ludvico's entrance exams at the very top of their class. Because of this, Clara became completely enamored by Seren's remarkable strength. Clara, Moe and Nonoka were appointed to first year Class B, the same as Seren, and so, they promptly approached Seren in order to convey their admiration for the Lily, and in doing so, Clara came to meet Seren's childhood friend Kishimoto Lucia Raimu.
The Class B Lilies are then approached by Asahi, who mocks them, particularly Clara, for not being appointed to her own Class A. Clara, however, dismisses Asahi's taunting, as she is overjoyed to be in the same class as her beloved Seren. This irritates Asahi, and the pair enters an argument, with Asahi deeming herself as superior due to being a well-regarded Lily since junior high. Asahi tells the other Class B Lilies of their time as partners together with Aoi, sarcastically reminding Clara of how she once referred to her as "Monica-sama".
Clara, however, insists on her desire to fight by Seren's side, going as far as to express her sorrow at them being unable to take the Schwester's Oath, as they're both first-years. After explaining to a clueless Raimu what the Schwester's Oath entails, the Class B Lilies wonder who Seren would like to become Schwesters with, and after Seren thoughtlessly responds that she'd like to take the Oath with "the strongest Lily here", they presume her to mean the newly enrolled Ichinomiya Michaela Himari.
When Raimu expresses her desire to have a Schwester of her own, Clara immediately rebuffs the notion, remarking that there likely is no Lily who'd wish to take her in as their Schwester due to Raimu's remarkably poor performance during the entrance exams. Furious at her friend being disparaged, Seren snaps back at Clara, who cowers away as the class bell rings.
Later, during the first years' very first training session, Clara and Saeki Julia Karen trained under the supervision of second year Lily Kuroki Francisca Yuria. Following its conclusion, Clara witnesses Seren comfort Raimu after the latter was strongly reprimanded by Fukuyama Jeanne Sachie for her inability to properly wield her CHARM. Remarking that Seren has "the look of a boy in love", Clara inquires Seren on why she cares so deeply for someone as unremarkable as Raimu, and Seren tells her of the promise she made to Raimu's sister, the late Kishimoto Maria Mirai, that she would always keep Raimu safe, and that she hopes to become even stronger than Mirai was in order to fulfill that promise. Puzzled, Clara then asks if Seren became a Lily solely for Raimu's sake, and Seren is deeply bothered by the question, brushing it off as "not of [Clara's] concern".
When Ludvico receives a report of a Cave, Clara is among the Lilies to deploy into battle. She once again runs into Seren, who due to still grappling with her identity as a Lily, is unable to keep her emotions in check during combat. Clara and Seren once again argue, with Clara remarking that Seren is currently "too weak" to succeed in surpassing Mirai. This only angers Seren further, and she attempts to continue fighting while disregarding Clara's backup. The pair briefly runs into Yuria, who dismisses both of them as a "nuisance" before promptly leaving, compounding on Seren's frustrations. They are then approached by Asahi, sarcastically claiming to have "come to save them", and despite Clara's dismissal of her, Asahi is able to perfectly match her movements as they fight. After witnessing their high level of synchrony, Seren leaves, with Clara immediately following after her.
During Ludvico's Easter Festival, Clara approaches Himari, hoping to uncover where the second year hid her Easter Egg. Himari inquires Clara on why she suddenly wishes to become her Schwester, and Clara reveals that she plans to make Seren jealous by stealing away the one she wishes to become Schwesters with. Clara attempts to convince Himari by remarking how she is the "greatest prodigy among the first years", with Himari acknowledging her skill after witnessing her performance during their previous battle. Still determined to find Himari's egg, Clara hands her Kumama, hoping to find her egg before she returns to retrieve it.
While the Easter Festival carries on, Ludvico is alerted to another Cave, with the Huge converging on Ludvico's cemetery, Maria's Hill, where Raimu was. Predicting the appearance of a Gigant-class, the Garden assembles the Temple Legion to neutralize it, with Himari being placed as its captain, while Clara, Seren and Raimu are among the appointed members. Upon arriving at Maria's Hill, Himari returns Kumama to Clara, who notices the second year's Medalha adorning it. The Temple Legion is soon met by the Gigant-class Huge, and so, they promptly begin a Neunwelt Tactic, with Clara displaying her Rare Skill, Zenon Paradoxa, for the very first time over the course of it. Raimu receives the Neunwelt's final pass, and eventually succeeds in taking down the Gigant-class.
In the aftermath, Clara once again approaches Himari in order to affirm her intentions, and Himari confirms that she does wish to take the Schwester's Oath with Clara. The pair exchanges their Medalhas, and while Clara is overjoyed at becoming Schwesters with the strongest Lily in Ludvico, Himari responds tells her that after witnessing Sachie's growth, she came to understand that true strength does not come from physical might alone, but from using that power to protect their loved ones.
Schwester's Secret[edit | edit source]
Main article: Assault Lily: Schwester's Secret
Asahi reveals to the B Class Lilies that she awakened to The Way of the World, the same Rare Skill as Seren, sarcastically remarking that she might replace Seren completely in the Temple Legion, as they also share the AZ position. Clara, however, scoffs at the notion, mocking Asahi and the other Class B Lilies for not being chosen for the Temple Legion a single time. Clara then concludes that Asahi is desperate to become her partner once again, and after remarking that her heart was already taken by Seren, Asahi throws a challenge to the latter, with the first one to take the Schwester's Oath with the strongest Lily they can find winning the chance to become Clara's partner.
While uninterested in Clara, Seren agrees, and Clara expresses her desire for her to win. This prompts Asahi to mock Clara for being so enamored with someone as emotionally immature as Seren, remarking that Himari might regret becoming the Schwester of someone with such poor taste. Clara is furious at her Schwester being badmouthed, and so, she challenges Asahi to a duel, and while the other Lilies attempt to talk them out of it, as dueling among students is forbidden by the Garden, Asahi agrees, with the condition that if Clara loses, she must annul her vows with Himari.
The Temple Legion is assembled following the appearance of another Gigant-class Huge, with Clara, Seren and Asahi being chosen to integrate it this time. Reaching the Gigant-class, the Legion immediately begins a Neunwelt Tactic, but after it fails to take down the Huge, they are surprised by the reappearance of Kishimoto Maria Mirai, who was previously thought dead. Mirai uses her Rare Skill, Phase Transcendence, to divert the Gigant-class away from the Lilies before promptly leaving, with Seren, Raimu and Sachie following in pursuit.
Later, Clara and Asahi begin their duel, with the latter initially having the upper hand due to her experience with Dueling techniques. They are soon found by Himari and Yuria, who were alerted of the duel by Moe and Nonoka, and as Clara is knocked down, Himari encourages her to stand up and win, as she has high expectations of her Schwester. Motivated, Clara resumes her duel with Asahi, managing to gain the advantage as she reveals to Asahi how she always looked up to her during junior high, with her desire to surpass Asahi leading Clara to become intimately familiar with her technique.
Clara completely overpowers Asahi, with Yuria stepping in to stop her before she can deal her finishing blow. Clara is pleased with herself for coming out on top, but Himari scolds the pair, reminding them that dueling between students is against school rules. While she assures the pair that she'll not report them to Ludvico's administration, she declares their duel void. Asahi notices that Clara still carries Kumama after all this time, revealing to the other Lilies that she was the one to give it to her. Finally, the pair reconciles, before the Cave alarm goes off once again.
The Temple Legion begins a Neunwelt Tactic soon after arriving at the battlefield, but Mirai appears for a second time, preventing the Lilies from taking the finishing shot. This time, however, Mirai turns to attacking the Lilies directly, single-handedly overpowering all the Temple Legion. Yuria theorizes that the multiple Boosting experiments she was subjected to caused Mirai to be overtaken by the Huge cells in her body, and concluding that the only way to stop her is by shooting her with the Magisphere, the Temple Legion members work to restrain Mirai, eventually allowing Raimu to take the shot.
After the battle, Clara informs Asahi that Seren took the Schwester's Oath with Yuria, meaning that she lost not only their duel, but the challenge she threw herself. Surprisingly, however, Asahi admits her defeat, pointing out that being chosen to join the Temple Legion led her to become aware of her own failings, which she hopes to earnestly learn from. After learning of Raimu's whereabouts from the other Class B Lilies, Clara is glad to learn that she is not alone after what she experienced in their previous battle, with the other Lilies pointing out how unusual it is for Clara to be concerned for her.
White Resistance ~The Promise's Path~[edit | edit source]
Main article: Assault Lily: White Resistance ~The Promise's Path~
While conducting their usual training session together, Clara and Himari are approached by Moe, who wishes to train under Himari's guidance. Though Clara is bothered by her intrusion, Himari agrees, much to her dismay. As usual, Moe repeatedly fails to grasp proper fighting technique, which prompts Himari to repeatedly correct her, leaving Clara further annoyed at the level of personal attention Moe receives from Himari. Afterwards, Clara openly chides Moe for wedging herself between Himari and her, angrily telling her that she'll never be good enough to stand by Himari's side in battle.
At a later time, Clara learns that Himari had been ambushed by a Cave while tutoring Moe away from the Garden, and so, she moves out to rescue them together with the other Temple Legion members. Shortly after reaching Himari, the Lilies are immediately surrounded by multiple Huge, including three Large-class. In the ensuing battle, Moe continuously struggles to fight properly, and mainly relies on Clara and Himari's protection. However, the Lilies are overpowered by the Huge, with Clara and Himari being soon knocked down by their attacks. As the Huge moves in to kill Himari, Moe's panic drives her to awaken the Rare Skill Phantasm, allowing the Lilies to immediately repel all the encroaching Huge. Himari is ecstatic, as having a Phantasm user is a crucial part of the ideal fighting style she longs for, and so, she vows to personally ensure Moe becomes the best Lily she can be. Hearing this, Clara immediately leaves the scene, overtaken by jealousy.
With the previous battle pushing Sachie to leave the Temple Legion and form her own independent Legion, Raimu and Seren attempt to invite their classmates to join them. Moe refuses, cheerfully remarking that as she is now Himari's personal student, she might soon be chosen to join the Temple Legion. This causes Clara to snap at her, blaming Moe for the ambush suffered by Himari, as she points out that due to needing to protect her, she was unable to properly fight back against the Huge. Clara also rebuffs Moe's arrogance after awakening her Rare Skill, telling her that a powerful Rare Skill is worthless in the hands of someone as inexperienced as her. Moe, however, retorts against Clara, pointing out that it was Himari who chose to take her in as her student, and ultimately remarking that if Clara cannot respect her Schwester's wishes, then she should annul their vows.
Hurt by Moe's words, Clara attempts to join Sachie's Legion out of spite, but Asahi immediately shuts down the idea, telling Clara that she needs to stay by Himari's side now more than ever. Feeling rejected by her classmates, Clara leaves in tears without giving an answer.
Following the appearance of a Cave, the Temple Legion is assembled to neutralize it, with Moe being predictably chosen as a member after awakening her Rare Skill. Despite also being selected, Clara is hesitant to join the others, fighting by herself before being found by Asahi. Clara attempts to argue that Himari no longer needs her with Moe by her side, but Asahi promptly rejects the idea, telling Clara of how even after she greatly surpassed her after entering high school, she still didn't give up on training in hopes that she could become Clara's partner once again. Asahi points out how despite everything, neither Clara nor Himari undid their vows with each other, and encourages Clara to reclaim her spot by Himari's side, just as Asahi herself attempted to find her way back to her.
Moved by Asahi's words, Clara agrees to rejoin them, and the pair regroup with the rest of the Temple Legion, encountering Sachie's new Legion, titled Ironside, as they are about to begin their Neunwelt Tactic. While Ironside keeps the surrounding Huge at bay, the Temple Legion begins to make their passes, however, during Moe's turn with the Magisphere, she is unable to properly take control of it, and ultimately causes it to be lost. With half of their members depleted of their Magie, the still capable Temple Legion switch to performing a joint Neunwelt Tactic together with Legion Ironside, eventually allowing Raimu to successfully destroy the Huge.
In the aftermath, Moe is left terribly depressed after her failure during the previous battle, causing her to skip her scheduled training with Himari due to feeling that she betrayed her expectations. With her feelings resolved, Clara then offers to train Moe herself, in order to ensure she is good enough to be Himari's pupil. As her very first lesson, Clara has Moe carry Kumama, and though the Lily greatly struggles with handling the teddy bear's weight, Asahi remarks that Clara is the very type of strict teacher Moe needs.
White Resistance ~The Blade of Truth~[edit | edit source]
Main article: Assault Lily: White Resistance ~The Blade of Truth~
Despite Moe continuing to be selected for the Temple Legion, the formation of Legion Ironside means there are no longer enough powerful Lilies in Ludvico to complete the nine members needed for them to perform the Neunwelt Tactic. As such, when the Temple Legion is deployed to neutralize a Gigant-class Huge, they are forced to rely on the aid of Instructor Makabe Melania Sayoko in order to take it down. At the end of the battle, the Instructor warns Himari that her position as the Temple Legion's captain could be revoked should she fail to address the Legion's current predicament.
During their usual training sessions, Clara and Moe continue to train together under Himari. Clara notices that Himari appears very absentminded, paying little attention to the pair despite Moe showing significant improvement, a result of Clara's daily tutelage after their classes. As the pair continue training, they are watched by Asahi, who is saddened after seeing how much closer they have gotten.
When Raimu and Seren are ambushed by a Cave while away from the Garden, Clara and the other Temple Legion members move out to their aid. However, due to the sheer amount of Small and Mid-class Huge emerging from it, they are unable to make any progress. They soon meet with Legion Ironside, and agree to hold the Huge at bay while the Legion sets off to find and rescue Raimu and Seren.
After the battle, Clara congratulates Haneda Catalina Mei after the latter awakened to her Rare Skill, Zenon Paradoxa. On the other hand, Karen and Nonoka lament being the only ones in their class yet to awaken their Rare Skills, with Karen being particularly frustrated at being unable to be of any use to Legion Ironside. Karen wonders if it would be better for her to quit being a Lily altogether and instead become an Arsenal, causing Tsugumi to be deeply hurt at the idea of her longtime friend quitting. Noticing her frustration, Asahi and Clara attempt to encourage Karen to keep on trying, with Clara pointing out that, much like Moe, she might eventually awaken to a highly powerful Rare Skill, but she'll nonetheless require training in order to properly use it.
When a Gigant-class Huge appears near Ludvico, both the Temple Legion and Ironside move out to defeat it. Upon arriving at the location, however, Tsugumi informs them that Kayo, Raimu and Seren were trapped fighting Instructor Sayoko within the Garden. And so, Himari orders Sachie, Yuria, Tsugumi and Karen to rescue them, while the remaining Lilies of both Legions perform the Neunwelt Tactic together. Before they can take the finishing shot, however, the Lilies are ambushed by a resurrected Nosaka Jacqueline Kazane, who steals the Magisphere and fires it against the Lilies. The Gigant-class flees, and the Lilies set off in pursuit of it, while Seto Veronica Ichika and Tachibana Theresia Nagisa stay back to fight Kazane.
The Lilies reunite with Sachie's group, who succeeded in rescuing Kayo, Raimu and Seren. And so, they work to keep the Huge at bay while Sano Matilda Kokoro returns to the Garden in order to retrieve a second Neunwelt bullet, with Karen finally awakening to the Rare Skill Regista in the ensuing battle. Kokoro returns with the bullet, and the two Legions begin a second joint Neunwelt Tactic, but before they are able to finish it, the Gigant-class Huge flees once again as the Lilies are ambushed by Instructors Sayoko and Toride Suzanne Reika, working in service of GEHENA.
After the Lilies refuse to comply with the Instructors' demands, they disable the protective barrier that surrounds Ludvico's campus. A Cave immediately forms over the Garden, allowing Huge to pour out in large numbers and directly attack the Garden. And so, the Temple Legion (minus Himari), as well as Ironside members Takatori Natalie Towa and Li Christina Susu leave in order to help evacuate the Lilies still in the Garden, while Legion Ironside and Himari fight the two Instructors.
The Bond with the White Rose[edit | edit source]
Main article: Assault Lily: The Bond with the White Rose
While fighting the Huge surrounding Ludvico's campus, Clara and Moe end up isolated from the other members of the Temple Legion, fighting by themselves against multiple Irregular Huge which broke free from GEHENA's Ludvico Labs. The pair is eventually able to regroup with Karen and Asahi, with Clara congratulating the former after noticing Ichika's Medalha around her neck. Unable to establish communications with Himari's group due to the high concentration of Negative Magie in the area, the four continue their efforts to aid the evacuation of the Lilies within Garden premises, in hopes that Himari would join them eventually.
However, their Magie reserves begin to run low as the battle progresses, prompting Karen to repeatedly suggest that they instead attempt to regroup with the other Lilies. Clara, however, refuses, pointing out that the Lilies within Ludvico's campus would be endangered should they leave the battlefield. As they continue to encounter Irregular Huge, the four Lilies are eventually overpowered by them despite Clara and Asahi's efforts to continue leading the battle, before being rescued by Legion Hakolberand of Irma Girls' High School for the Arts.
With Hakolberand's aid, the four Lilies are eventually able to regroup with Towa and Susu, who themselves were rescued by Irma's Legion Irminshines after being faced with an Irregular Gigant-class. Surmising that the Gigant-class possesses the Dominator Skill, the Lilies split themselves in two teams in order to carry out the double Neunwelts required to take it down. With the Ludvico Lilies joining the first team, Nishikawa Miharu proposes that Towa serve as their tactician, but Towa instead suggests that Karen take the role, due to possessing the Rare Skill Regista. While Karen is initially reluctant to command over such prolific Lilies, she eventually agrees after Clara and Susu offer her encouragement.
Though the Legions succeed in destroying the Gigant-class, they are immediately ambushed by the Huge Sennen Mogura, the master of the Cave looming over Ludvico. After learning that its paralyzing breath has a cooldown time, the Lilies devise a plan to force the Huge to use it, in order to disable the attack for long enough for the Lilies to perform the Neunwelt Tactic. The first year Lilies of each Legion are placed in the luring teams, centered around Phantasm users Moe and Higashikuze Tokuko, while the second and third year Lilies perform the Neunwelt Tactic.
Their plan proceeds as expected, however, due to the high degree of exhaustion of all the Lilies present, they are unable to create a powerful enough Magisphere, prompting the Ludvico first years to ask that they also participate on the Neunwelt. And so, together with Towa and Susu, the four first years pour all of their remaining Magie into the Magisphere, with the remaining Lilies working to wear down the Sennen Mogura in the meantime. Exhausted, the Lilies are soon overpowered by the Huge before Himari finally reaches them, and receiving the Magisphere from Clara, she succeeds in completing the Magisphere with the aid of Miharu, Hibino Waku and Tejima Komachi, finally succeeding in taking down the Sennen Mogura, and neutralizing the Cave over Ludvico.
While evacuations were successful, Ludvico's campus was completely destroyed in the battle, causing it to completely lose functionality as a proper Garden. While the first years mourn the loss of their Garden, Himari comforts them, remarking that though Ludvico's facilities were left in ruins, the unity between its Lilies remain unbroken. Due to Ludvico's upper administration completely falling apart, the Temple Legion no longer exists in any official capacity, and so, the Lilies are ordered to aid the Legions dispatched by other Gardens to cover Ludvico's territory while rebuilding efforts take place, with the first years agreeing to continue following Himari as she expresses her desire to remain as the Temple Legion's captain in the future.
Combat Style[edit | edit source]
Belying her cute and feminine presentation, Clara's combat style is characterized by unrestrainedly displaying her raw strength, with her already excellent physical power being further boosted by her Rare Skill, the power-multiplying Zenon Paradoxa. Clara's style is described as very attack oriented,[1] and she is shown to favor singular, overpowering heavy blows when fighting at close range. A particular quirk of Clara is her tendency to do a cute jump whenever unleashing her attacks, further highlighting the gap between her girly personality and her aggressive fighting style.
Toyline[edit | edit source]
Clara had two dolls released as part of the Assault Lily toyline, both titled "Assault Lily Side Story No.38: Narumi Clara Yuko", both released in April 2018. The two dolls are virtually identical, their only differing factor being the hairpiece, with one featuring Clara sporting a light blonde hair, in accordance with her character design,[5] while the other features Clara with brown hair, matching the natural hair color of her actress, Saito Masako.[6] Both dolls feature four swappable faceplates, the Temple Legion's jacket, Kumama, who is wearable as a backpack, as well as a miniature Kumama, which can be attached to the front grip of Clara's CHARM. The CHARM included in both versions is the Gungnir Carbine.

Naming convention[edit | edit source]
Though Clara, Moe and Nonoka equally refer to other Lilies by their confirmation names only, Clara is the only one between them to be exclusively referred to by her own confirmation name, "Clara", instead of her first name, "Yuko". Furthermore, this occurs not only within the stage plays, but also through official avenues, such as the Assault Lily Twitter pages, as well as by her actresses. For the sake of clarity, it is advised that Clara also be referred to by her confirmation name within this wiki.
It should be noted that this differs from other similar cases, such as Kosaka Anastasia Ryoko or Makabe Melania Sayoko, who are also primarily referred to by their family names within the stage plays, as addressing a superior figure by their family name is merely a product of proper formal etiquette in Japan, and is not an intrinsic part of their characterization.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- Clara's confirmation name of "Clara" is likely in reference to Catholic Saint Clara of Assisi, more commonly known in English as Saint Clare.
- Furthermore, the name of Clara's teddy bear, Kumama, is a play on her own name. As the Japanese word for bear is Kuma (クマ), it can assume a similar cadence to the Japanese spelling for the name "Clara" (クララ, Kurara) by repeating its second character. The humorously awkward nature of this is something acknowledged within the stage plays.
- Clara's existence as a character predates her appearance in the Assault Lily universe. A character named "Narumi Yuko" appears in other plays by Ludvico Private Girls' Academy dating back to 2016, where she was performed by Saito Masako.
- From the original version of Schwester's Secret onwards, Clara's Gungnir Carbine is shown to have a miniature version of Kumama attached to its front grip. Curiously, Clara still wields a regular version of the Gungnir Carbine in the revival version of Schwester's Prayer, while in the Lily Project version of the play, her CHARM is shown to have the Kumama attachment from the start.
- Clara's hobbies include dressing up in lolita fashion and collecting stuffed toys.[7]
- Clara's favorite food is shortcakes, and her favorite drink is black tea.[8]
